Claire sat in the balcony eyeing the paper in her hand with a blank face, she took a deep and glanced towards his car, she could see it clearly as it wasn't so far away from her room.
Even though she won today, it wasn't a real win for her, she felt like she was betraying him, which didn't settle well with her. Claire took a sip from her black coffee which she kept on the round table in front of her minutes ago.
She found the coffee a bit more bitter than usual, 'Should I tell him the truth?', this thought made her head heavy, now that she was thinking about all of this, she realised that she was hurting so many people in the process.
Her father, when she last saw him on the day of the party, it was still vivid in her eyes, she still didn't talk to him, as she couldn't face him, and somewhere she even felt she might hurt Jason, if he found out about her real reason to be here. All of this made her realise she shouldn't take advantage of him, "Today I will tell him everything!" She stated.
Suddenly her phone vibrated showing a notification, she picked her phone, which shows a text from Jason, "Why does he want me to call him?" Claire mumbled.
She dialed his number and waited for him to pick up the call, "So, are you happy?" Jason asked, making Claire frown, she was confused by his sudden question, "Do you mean to say, how I feel after winning?" Claire questions, hearing a chuckle.
"You can say that."
Claire was confused by the way he was talking, he was sounding rude, but she didn't voice her thoughts, "Of course I'm happy."
"Then why don't you look happy?" Jason asked, "How can you say that when you can't even see me."
"Who said I can't see you, I'm looking at you for quite some time now." Hason stated, Claire widens her eyes and started looking around her, she couldn't see anyone in the garden, she then looked towards his car, there he was sitting in the passenger seat, waving his hand towards her.
"How long were you there?" Claire asked curiously, "Since the time you were staring at the cheque." Claire was feeling embarrassed, she cleared her throat and replied, "It's not right to stalk someone."
"Who said I was stalking you, I just wanted to know what you were doing." Jason defended himself, "By the way do you want to celebrate?"
Claire didn't know how to react to his sudden invitation, she thought it's a good opportunity to tell him the truth, "Uh... Okay, so where should we go?"
"Leave it to me, I will pick you up at seven, be ready." Jason said and hung up.
"What was that it was like he was waiting that I agree to go with him."
*****
"Where is Austin?" Jason asked Phil, who was standing in front of him with a displeased look on his face, "Mr. Jones is preparing for a date with Miss. Jasmine."
Jason just nodded his head, he was sitting on his chair in his cabin working on some projects before he leaves for the date.
he was aware of Austin's interest in Jasmine, but he sure didn't trust her, "Where is he taking her?"
"I'm sorry sir, but he didn't tell anyone about it." Phil replied, "Can I say something Mr. Kenwood," Phil hesitated, "Go ahead." Jason replied without looking at him, he knew what he was going to say.
"You shouldn't judge her because she is in need of money, I think you should give her some more time!"
Jason closed the file in his hand and raised his head to look at Phil, who gulped in fear, "So, you think she participated in the contest for money, but she is not a gold digger." Jason questioned, making Phil smile, which didn't sit well with him.
"Phil, did I crack a joke?" Jason gritted his teeth, "No-No Mr. Kenwood."
"Then why are you smiling?" Jason snapped, "Because it's first time since I started working with you," Phil glanced at Jason, who was patiently waiting for his answer, "That you are so disturbed because of girl."
Jason was taken aback by his answer, his answer made him realise that he was right for the first time he was disturbed because of girl, "Phil if there is nothing else to say, you can leave."
Phil nodded and left from there, Jason got up from his chair and stood in front of the window looking at the city, the sun was about to set, and its rays came directly in his cabin, making him close his eyes feeling peaceful.
He remembers about Austin, even though he was a flirt, he was never so adamant to go on a date with a girl, Jason didn't want his friend to feel the same pain he felt before.
He called Austin who Hung up his call three times in a row, "Do you want to die?" Jason shouted in anger particularly to no one.
Jason again called him, this time he picked up, "Why the hell are you disturbing me!" Austin snapped at Jason in irritation.
"Why the hell are you rejecting my calls!" Jason ignored his question.
"Because I'm preparing for a date, which you are aware of." Austin said as a matter of fact,
"No, I asked you to go and meet her to know more about Claire." Jason stated.
"Whatever I'm going on a date so don't disturb now!" Austin warned his friend.
"Well, then I think you should prepare for a double date."
"What, but why?" Austin groaned, he understood why Jason wanted him to prepare for a double date.
"Because I was confused where to take Claire but now that you-"
Austin cut him off and replied, "Don't you dare disturb us, you already went on a date with her, but I never went on a single date with Jasmine." Jason smirked and replied, "If you don't want us to disturb you then book a table for us in my favorite restaurant." Jason waited for his reply, "Okay I will, now can I go?"
"Sure, enjoy!" Jason said and hung up, he still didn't trust Claire or her friend, but he knew Austin won't appreciate his involvement, "I guess I should first deal with her!"
