"Did someone really hit him?" This question, kept Jasmine's mind occupied till she reached home, "Welcome back, what took you so long?" Claire asked, her eyes fixed on her phone.
"Hmm, was busy rescuing you boyfriend's friend!" Jasmine replied, heading straight towards the couch.
"Why? What happened to Austin?" Claire glanced at her, keeping her phone away, her eyes now focused on Jasmine, "I was coming back from the company, but then I noticed a familiar car," Jasmine sighed, slumping on the couch.
"When I went closer, I saw that idiot relaxing in the car while his forehead was bleeding."
"What! He was bleeding, how? What happened?" Claire asked.
"Relax, he is fine now, I took him to the doctor and then dropped him till his house." Jasmine replied, she told Claire everything that happened.
"Do you really think someone might have hurt him?" Jasmine voiced her thoughts, "Damn, I don't know, these two are really good at hiding things!" Claire frankly didn't know what was going on with them.
She was already occupied with the questions about the woman she saw in the morning. And now hearing about Austin getting injured, she couldn't stop herself from assuming it was because of that girl.
"Shit! I think I know who could have hurt him!" Claire suddenly jumped from her seat, Jasmine kept her hands on her chest, "God, please, next time.... whatever you want to say, just say it calmly."
"You remember I went to meet Jason today." Claire said, "Yeah, so...?" Jasmine remarked not feeling amused at all.
"So, I met a woman and she was so angry when she saw me, she was ready to hit me.... I'm sure she would have surely done something if Jason wasn't there!" Claire recalled the woman's angry face.
"Did she hurt you?" Jasmine asked worriedly, "No, she couldn't but are you getting my point!" Jasmine looked clueless, she waves her hand in the air and replied, "Please elaborate, I'm not a genius you know."
"J, I think she might be the one who hurt Austin." Claire said as a matter of fact, "Uh genius... don't you think that you're thinking too much." Jasmine remarked as she rose to her feet and went inside her room, leaving Claire dumbfounded.
Jasmine changed into her night suit, but her mind was still clouded by the same thoughts but now she couldn't help but think about what Claire said.
"J, why don't we try to find out about the reason b-"
"Bella, just finish your food." Jasmine sighed, since they sat to have dinner, Claire was going on and on about who might be that woman.
Jasmine hated the one thing about her friend was she was a very curious girl, if she ever gets curious about something, she won't calm down until she finds out about it.
Claire took a bite from her spaghetti, glancing at her friend who was deeply thinking about something, "If you're that curious about who hit him, why don't you just ask him." Claire whispered.
"I'm not even sure if he is saying the truth or not and we are not that close to ask each other anything." Jasmine replied to her question.
"So, why don't you get close to each other." Claire suggested sheepishly, "Bella! Don't ever say that he is my boss." Jasmine groaned when she noticed the teasing look on Claire's face.
"Come on J, what's wrong in dating your boss, it's fine, you think too much."
"Listen to me Bella, I'm never going to date him, so stop with those weird thoughts!" Jasmine warned her.
"J, I know you're scared of office romance but trust me, it's an adventure to date your boss and not a single person in your workplace knows about it!" Claire's face lit up as she explained Jasmine.
Jasmine crossed her arms and asked, "Are you saying that from experience?"
"You know I have never been in a relationship." Claire frowned, "See that's why you should not give advice to anyone when you, yourself have never experienced it."
Claire frowned glaring playfully at her friend, she wanted to help Jasmine to find love, after that incident with that guy at the party, Jasmine was staying away from any romantic feelings.
It was also a fact that she wanted to know about the girl, she felt her heart ached, thinking about what if she was someone who was Jason in love with.
"Where are you lost girl!" Jasmine asked, waving her hand in front of Claire's face, "Nothing, just trying to find ways to know who she might be."
Jasmine shook her head, she knew Claire won't stop until she finds out about her, "Oh, I almost forgot, Jake is going to send us the invitation tomorrow."
"Invitation for what?"
"I knew you'll forget, invitation to Sarah's birthday party." Jasmine replied.
Her words made her remember that Jason asked her for the invitation to the party, "Even I forgot about it."
"It's fine just don't forget to meet him tomorrow in the coffee shop and take the invitation from him."
After the dinner they went to their respective rooms, it was a tiring day for Claire, she lied on her bed, closing her eyes ready to go in her dreamland when her phone vibrated, she groaned, it was a text from Jason, 'Don't forget about the invitation.' Claire sighed, "Doesn't he have anything else to say."
Sometimes Claire felt, she was being used, since the time she has met Jason, he was always behaving like he was making a business deal with her, thinking about it her eyes welled up with tears.
She pulled the comforter on her, as tears wetted her cheeks, she always longed for love and even after she was in a relationship which she always wished for, what she got was a fake one. Sometimes she hoped her mother didn't do what she did, then she could have a happy family, but she just destroyed it.
Closing her eyes. What she hated more was she was aware the feelings she has for Jason was more than a crush, which will only bring her more pain. She knew tomorrow she again has to be her normal self, forgetting about the pain.
