Chapter 67

"I don't think we should do that, she will never come with us." Austin was pacing restlessly in Jason's cabin, he never thought Jason would think about something like this, "And why did you dress so casually?"

Jason gazed at him, visibly irritated by him, he was wearing a plain black t-shirt and a white jacket with black jean, he wasn't worried about meeting John, but the real struggle was to convince her to come with them.

"I can't believe you thought this, it was her you were talking about, god I don't think this will be a good idea!" Austin was panicking since he found out who Jason was talking about.

"Will you stop yelling for a minute! Listen Austin this is the only way to distract John." Jason tried to make him understand, "I already have it figured out, so stop getting worried!"

"Figured out! Okay so tell me will grandma come with us?"

Jason was unable to answer his question, he wasn't sure about that at all, "We should first go and talk to her." Jason replied.

"Look, how you are avoiding answering my question, how will you convince her?" Austin asked. "I don't think we should do that, she will never come with us." Austin was pacing restlessly in Jason's cabin, he never thought Jason would think about something like this, "And why did you dress so casually?"

Jason just sighed and walked out, making Austin groan, he stomped his feet on the floor and punched in the air angrily, "This is why, I sometimes think I befriended a psycho." Jason said, startling Austin.

He was standing at the door, he came back for his phone that he forgot on his desk, but the scene in front of him, made him accept the fact that no one can help Austin when he goes crazy.

"Do you want to fight? This is happening because he you!" Austin defended himself, feeling a bit flustered, trying to hide his embarrassment, "Because of me? Did I ask you to act a child! Jason shrugged and spoke.

"Don't you call me a child Jason!" Austin was now getting angry.

Jason didn't want to have any kind of fight with Austin for now, as he still has to convince Grandma, and he surely needs help with that. "Austin let's not fight, we have to make sure Grandma comes with us, we have to do that together."

Austin calmed himself down when Jason said that, "Hmm, you're right, we can't afford to fight right now."

"Really Jason, you came to meet me after week's and that too because you want my help, you really hurt me, kid." Grandma sat down on the couch in the mansion, Jason kneeled in front of her, holding her hand.

"I'm sorry grandma, I was quite busy." He was already feeling bad and now asking grandma to come with them was also too much, he was aware of it.

"I can't Jason," Grandma Scarlett refused, as soon as Jason asked her to come with them, she couldn't meet him after so many years, "Grandma you can't do this, we really need you." Austin pleaded.

"How can I meet him now, you see after the incident with your parents, I never met any of their friends again, and John was one of them." She was guilty about what she did, after Jason's parents died, she never met those people, but now Jason wants her to meet him.

"I know grandma, but this is very important, you can think of this as if you're doing this for mom and dad." Jason tried to convince her.

He knew only Grandma could make John defenseless, if he went alone, that man will surely kick him out of his house as soon as he could, but with Grandma, it will be different.

"Jason, I...." Grandma was in a dilemma, she wanted to help Jason, but she was hesitant to meet John.

Suddenly a question popped into Austin's mind, "Grandma, if you never met him after the accident, then who told you that Jason put John behind the bars?"

"That, actually Jake called me and told that, but really Jason, how could you do that to your parent's close friend!" she asked him, still a bit angry on him.

"I know grandma, and I'm feeling a lot guilty, that's why I'm going there to apologize, won't you help me?" Jason was feeling bad for lying to her, but what could he do, he was already hiding the truth for years.

"Grandma think, will you be happy if your grandson committed a sin and didn't redeem himself?" Austin questioned, he wanted to try his best to help Jason.

Grandma Scarlett was baffled by such an example, she took a moment to think about it and replied, "No, I won't like it at all, just give me a minute, I will get ready and then we can go to meet him."

Austin gulped in fear as he was alone with Jason, "So, a sin, huh... please tell me what kind of sin I committed?"

"Jason don't take it to heart, it was to convince Grandma." Austin said, "But if you think about it, you surely commit a sin."

Jason raised his eyebrows in a questioning way, "Then tell me!"

"The sin of.... being in a fake relationship, be honest can't you see Claire likes you, but you're too involved in this revenge of yours that you don't want to see it." Jason didn't reply and walked away from him.

"Or maybe you like her, but you are scared." Austin was pushing his buttons, which he knew was quite dangerous.

"Scared of what?" Jason exhaled sharply.

"You know, of relationships or having someone close to you, I can understand, when someone stays alone a lot, that person surely gets scared of affection in the start." Austin glanced at him and shook his head in disappointment.

"Don't you think you are speaking too much, but what can I expect from someone who has infinite amount of experience in dating." Leaning on the chair beside the couch, Jason replied, "We will finish this conversation, but for now keep your focus on the next step."
