Claire kept looking at the ceiling, she was lying in her bed, thinking about today's event that happened, Jason's fight with Jake, his rude behavior with her everything made her stressed.
She wanted to have a clarity about them, but somewhere she feared that Jason will ask her to end their relationship, she knew it was pathetic to think that something that was fake from the start could even have a future, but she hoped that he might see her in a new light and not as a gold digger.
she chuckled sarcastically, how could she forget that she did take money from him, it wasn't because she was a gold digger, she was in need of money, and he happened to be the way she could find help.
She pulled the comforter closer to her as tears made their way to her eyes, sobbing quietly she felt lonely, she hoped someone would hold her when she was feeling low.
She couldn't deny she missed the warmth of a mother sometimes, when her mother left them, she couldn't even process it, she was just ten years old, she used to cry at night because she felt lonely as her father was busy working.
It didn't take her a lot of time to adjust to that new life without a mother, but she again felt a little hope when her father got married to Maria, but that too didn't last long as she knew, Maria didn't like her at all, and her behavior said it all.
She always craved for love, but she was not that lucky in that aspect of life, she got up and wiped her tears harshly, as she recalled Jasmine's words, "Take life seriously!"
And she was going to do it, she will be independent and make everyone realize that she is more than is a daughter of a successful businessman.
She took her phone and dialed his number, within three rings her picked her call, "Is everything okay Claire!" Jake asked worriedly, he was sounding sleepy.
"Yeah, everything thing is okay, I need your help!"

Jasmine was taking the files she worked on and kept them in her handbag, she was ready in her formals as she was a bit late today.
When she came in the living room, she heard the sound of someone humming a song.
Her heart skipped a beat as it was only seven in the morning, and she knew Claire doesn't get up this early.
She walked towards the kitchen quietly and saw Claire, it shocked her, Claire was baking something and was looking quite happy.
"Wow! Am I hallucinating?"
Hearing her voice Claire turned towards her and said, "No, you're not, I'm here making something for a special reason!"
"And what is the special reason?" Curiosity was evident in Jasmine's voice, "That is something I will tell you once I'm done with it!"
Claire replied, "You should wish me luck."
Jasmine smiled and said, "Okay, so whatever you're going to do, all the best for it." Claire chuckled and said a thanks to her.
"Aren't you going to have breakfast?"
"No, I'm going to have it at the company." Jasmine told her and left.
Claire was still busy baking her strawberry cake which her mother taught her.
It has all kind of berries in it, but the main highlight was the strawberry in it, after she was done, she packed it in a box and was ready to leave.
She decided to change her outfit as the one that she was wearing was a bit dirty now, she decided to wear a wide legs purple jean and a white loose shirt, she tied her hair in a half bun, applying minimal makeup.
She took her purse and was ready for the test, it was nine o'clock by then, she was very nervous it was the first time she was doing something for herself without anyone's help.
Claire tried opened the door of the cafe, but it was a bit difficult as she was holding the box in her hand, "Let me help you! She heard Jake's voice, he was behind her, as he helped her to open the door.
"Thanks Jake, did you come just now?" Claire asked as she has never seen him come this late to the cafe.
"No worries and I wasn't late, I was waiting for you." Jake informed her, a big gummy smile "So, are you ready for the test?"
She just nodded her head confidently, but inside she was trembling with fear, "And Jake, thank you so much for your help and sorry for disturbing you late at night."
"It's alright Claire, I'm happy that I'm able to help you." Jake wasn't only happy that she turned up to him for help, he now had an opportunity against Jason.
Jake took her to the room where the owner of the coffee shop was waiting for her, "Do you think she will accept me?"
Jake glanced at her and took the box from her hand, even when she refused, he insisted to help her.
"If she likes it, then definitely." Jake assured her, Claire had asked Jason to help her get a job, she knew she was good in making desserts and cakes so, it was best if she work at a bakery, but Jake insisted that he will first talk to the owner of the coffee shop.
Claire was a bit skeptical first, but she decided that there wasn't any harm in trying.
They entered inside a room Claire noticed a woman in her forties she had short grey hair, wearing a black spectacle, the look on her face scared Claire.
"Jess, this is Claire." Jake told her as he went and stood beside her, keeping the box in his hand in front of her on the table, leaving Claire standing alone in front of her.
Jess looked towards Claire with a frown, "What is inside the box?" She questioned Jake. "It is something she baked, I'm sure you will like it!"
Jake knew the lady was kindhearted but when it came to her cafe, she was very choosy, he just hopes that she accepts Claire.
