Chapter 83

Claire rubbed her hands together, she was nervous and worried for Jason, she thought something bad might have happened that Austin was here to pick them up.

"Can you tell me what happened?" Claire asked, but Austin ignored her question, she groaned and whispered to Jasmine, "Ask him," Jasmine nodded, "Austin, you're scaring us, will you tell us what happened?"

"Actually, I can't tell you that, please bear with your curiosity until we reach there." Austin begged, as he accelerated the speed of the car, not wanting to deal with their questions.

Claire kept tapping her foot impatiently while Jasmine patted her back, they were sitting in the back seat, Claire was thankful to Austin as he made them reach there within fifteen minutes.

"You both go and wait for me in the waiting room, I will be there in a minute." Austin informed them as he went to park the car, but it was only an excuse, so he could inform Jason that they reached.

'We are here, what should we do now?' He texted Jason, 'Wait for another five minutes.' Came his reply, Austin sighed because it was going to be difficult to stop them for even another minute.

He didn't have any option either way, he went to them and saw Claire pacing in the waiting room and Jasmine sitting on the couch looking worried, "Austin when can we meet him?" Claire asked, as soon as she saw him.

"Claire we still need to wait for a few minutes."

"What nonsense is this! You told us to come here, because your friend was in trouble, and she can't even meet him now!" Jasmine yelled, "Jasmine, It's not like I'm doing anything purposely, it just...."

"It's just, you both are enjoying troubling us!" Jasmine glared at him, Claire was quietly listening to their argument, it was more of Jasmine shouting at him while he was listening to it without saying anything.

"J, let's not fight right now." Claire requested her, seeing her friend so gloomy Jasmine nodded her head and didn't say anything after that.

The sound of the clock ticking was heard clearly as the room was so silent, the three of them were just waiting to meet Jason, Austin wanted to punch him, because he got scolded, Jasmine just wanted to see what was going on, while Claire just wanted to see if he was okay.

Austin could feel the awkwardness in the room, which made it hard for him to breath, he was glancing at Jasmine every now and then, which she was aware of.

Soon the door of the waiting room opened revealing Phil smiling sweetly at them, "Sorry, to keep you all waiting, please follow me."

Claire wasn't getting what was going on, but she decided to follow him without any questions, "What is going on Bella?" Jasmine asked, making Claire shrug.

"Phil, why are you taking us to the top floor?" Austin inquired, the thing that Claire wanted to ask, "Please have patience, Mr. Austin."

Soon they reached there, and the doors of the elevator opened, the terrace was completely dark as they couldn't see a single thing, "What is going on?" Claire asked, now she was starting to get angry.

Suddenly the light was on, which made her shut her eyes tightly, when Claire adjusted to her surroundings, she saw there was a big neon congratulations sign lit up, and yellow balloons were scattered on the floor.

Jason was standing beside it smiling brightly at her, it was the first time that she saw him smiling like that, "What is all this?" Austin's voice made her avert her eyes away from him, blushing a bit, which didn't go unnoticed by Jason.

"It's a small party for Claire." Jason replied, "For what reason?" Jasmine asked, looking as confused as Austin, "Why don't you ask her." Jason suggested.

Claire didn't know what he was talking about, "I don't know what the reason behind all this is," She replied honestly.

"Are you sure, should I give you a hint?" Jason was looking at her, Claire nodded so he said, "What was the reason that you rejected my offer to go on a date tomorrow?"

Claire widens her eyes, there was no way he would know about her job, "I-I just...."

"What was the reason, Bella?"

"Yeah, what was the reason!"

"I-it was related to-"

"I guess she won't be able to say it so let me tell you, she got a job at the cafe!" Jason blasted the bomb on them, Jasmine was looking at Claire without saying anything, while Austin was in a dilemma.

He was sure Jason was talking about the cafe where Jake works, so how was he so chilled about Claire working with him, "Does he really mean that!" Jasmine asked, making Claire nod.

She thought all of them would be angry, but Jasmine jumped happily and hugged her, "Oh god, Claire I'm so happy!"

Claire embraced her as well, "Are you okay with this?" Austin asked him, not wanting the girls to hear them, "Will it matter?"

"You should talk to her, working with Jake, I don't think it's a nice idea."

"We will talk about this later." Jason didn't want Claire to hear this, it will surely upset her.

Soon they cut the cake her got for her, then they were all busy talking, Jasmine apologized to Austin for shouting at him, and again both were busy arguing with each other.

Jason walked towards Claire and congratulated her, "I'm happy for you."

Jason glanced at her, which made her realize what she was wearing, she was wearing a white short, with a grey hoodie, and her hair were tied in a loose bun.

"God, this is embarrassing,"

"Don't worry, you look cute."

"I'm sorry, I didn't tell you about this." She was feeling really pathetic for hiding it from him, "It's fine why would I mind you working for yourself."

"It wasn't that." Claire knew he wasn't someone who would interfere with someone's life, "Than what was the reason?" He questioned, he wanted to know why she hid it from him.

"I thought you might have a problem with Jake." She answered, truthfully, Jason went quite which clearly showed that he did have a problem with Jake, "But how did you find out about me getting a job there?"
