Chapter 4- The Gallagher's

She had two more classes and she was happy she didn't have to stand in front of the class during the rest of them. During recess, Kira took her to the school lunchroom to buy their meals while Natalie narrated her ordeal on their way.
They found a spot to sit on and Kira excused herself to go get their lunch at the counter. Natalie took out her phone and tried to dial her father's number. The number was busy , as always. With a frown, she put back the phone deciding to call him later. She put on her wide smile when she saw Kira approaching with their foods. "Woah! that's a lot of food", Natalie looked quite surprised as Kira dropped it on the table.

"How come mine is so big?" she asked "You look like you didn't have anything for breakfast",she said taking a bite out of her sandwich.

"I do?" she asked he hand unconsciously going up to touch her face. Of course she was hungry. She didn't even eat the previous night.

"Yeah" Kira replied, nodding her head vigorously. Natalie didn't say anything to this. It didn't really matter since she was starting to enjoy her meal. Almost at the end of their meal, Natalie saw two guys walk into the lunchroom and she paused to get a better view of them. She had to because they sat close to the entrance and the fact that people had to make way for they was eye catchy. The two had a few resemblance with different hairstyle and very, very striking features, especially the one wearing a black leather jacket, a glove on his left hand and boots...

"Um...earth to Natalie" Kira snapped her fingers to call her back

"I'm sorry, got lost for a moment. Who are they?" she asked, staring at the direction of the two boys who'd taken seats at the far end of the lunchroom .

"The Gallagher twins",she said without much expression "And yes, I get your look. Too handsome and non identical to be true. " She paused to looked at the supposed brothers direction

"they're the most popular and richest guys on campus. Their family comes from a long chain of old time powerful Lords. Like, the real deal and, they don't talk much to people.",she paused and gravely added "They're trouble and it'll do us good not to cross their path. Especially the one wearing the black jacket, Derek "

Following seriousness of Kira' s voice, Natalie turned her gaze to the table which was a bit far away from theirs. As though he heard them talking about him, Derek turned and caught her gaze. When she realised it , she gasped softly and turned back quickly to avoid it. Her heart beat frantically like that of a child's caught in a bad act. Wait. She wasn't doing anything bad, was she?. It wasn't a crime look. That, she assured herself. However, when she garnered courage to glance again, he wasn't looking.

" Is that a kind of necklace?" asked Kira , startling Natalie in ger own world. The little red gem that hung around Natalie's neck had caught Kira's attention.

"Oh... this, it was my mum's. She gave it to me before she died as a sort of relic",Kira watched as Natalie's expression slowly turned into a sad one, "she always had it with her", Natalie played with the necklace.
"I'm sorry... about your mum's death. She must have been really nice"

"She was amazing, and I miss her , but... you just get over it with time ",she brought her gaze to meet that of Kira's with a sad smile.

" We should go back now. I wouldn't want to miss a class "

They both packed up and Natalie took a final glance at that direction before they left.

Derek watched the girl leave with her redhead friend. He'd felt her glance at their direction a couple of times. Davis if he saw this too, didn't say a thing. He'd gotten them soda. Halfway to drinking it, they both saw two people approaching their table

" Hi guys ", the female, Janice, set her tray on their table then took a seat beside Davis. Derek frowned at the guy who'd taken a seat beside Janice without being invited.

" Did you have to bring him here? " Davis groaned not looking happy to see the unwelcome guest.

" It wasn't my fault, he insisted I show him where you both were ", Janice said in an almost muffled voice as she chewed her steak.

" Why do I get the feeling you're not happy to see me", Marcus said with a lazy smile. He appeared to be in his late thirties.

"You felt rightly. I don't think anyone would be when it comes to a psychopath like you ", Derek said as he took a sip of his drink, with a behaviour that seemed to tell that he wasn't in a bit bothered by the new presence. His brother sighed already getting tired of the conversation. Whenever their fathers right hand man and his brother crossed paths it didn't always go well. The two were always at loggerhead with each other while pretending that none of them mattered to the other. Sitting with them alone made him tired because of the war that went between them that didn't really seem like a war.

" If you're both gonna fight your regular cold fight or whatever, I should leave you guys or perhaps you could take it outside "

Marcus chuckled," you could say that ", he said leaning towards them," trust me, I'm not here to make jokes. I have serious business. Come on, I'm the assistant to a powerful personality. I don't have all the time in the world" Marcus said with a lopsided grin. One that they hated so much to his knowledge. As much as they hated to agree to this, it was actually true.

"So, why are you here?", Derek asked , this time with a stern stare.

"To see how you boys are doing",he grinned at them.

"You've got to be kidding me", muttered Davis, who looked like he was running out of patience.

"Eddy wants you both home" he deadpanned.
