Lost Her Daughter

(Jan 3 th, Back to the present, Elizabeth Hospital.)

"Naomi! Naomi! Listen. "

Alfian looked at Naomi, released his hold, and gave her shoulder a light shake.

"Everything will be fine. You two won't be separated by anything, though you might still see it occasionally. Airin won't mind."

Naomi shook her head. That means the baby will still be taken.

"Angel is all I have, so please." Naomi begged.

"You have no right to take her. You are nothing to Angel; she is my daughter, and she is only my daughter."

'She will be separated from her little angel daughter.' In her heart, Naomi murmured something unintelligible. Fear quickly results in an odd response that starts a conflict.

"You can't take Angel! You can't do that!"

"NAOMI!" Alfian yelled.

He firmly grasped Naomi's enraged hand. Pillows and blankets were scattered across the floor after Naomi kicked her leg firmly. Having been forcibly removed, the IV needle that had been inserted into Naomi's hand had left a mark where blood was now oozing out.

"Listen, Naomi!"

Alfian gently shook his wife's body.

He continue, "How about resuming your delayed college, all the fees I carry. You will still be my wife. I will not divorce you, but Angela's status will shift to be my daughter and Airin. Everything is good. Angel will be taken care of by Airin, and you can do whatever you want."

He had expected that if Naomi reacted like this. No biological mother desires to be separated from her own daughter. Alfian, however, was forced to choose because Airin was significantly more significant to him.

While Naomi was calming down, Alfian sighed and said, "Think about it! Airin and I can still offer you some things. Everything will be alright. I'm not divorcing you from Angel. Only custody and status."

With her blood rushing violently and her breath becoming labored, Naomi tentatively released her husband's hold.

"Do you think I want to sell my daughter?"

Alfian corrected, "Our daughter."

Naomi disagrees. "I don't even know who her biological father is, but we know Angel is not your daughter."

"That's it. The best course of action is to give Angela to Airin. Do you want to feel ashamed when other people ask where her father is?"

Alfian halted talking. Inhale deeply and slowly let it out.

"Keep in mind, Naomi, that Airin lacks patience; three days are more than enough for her."

When Naomi turned to face Alfian, she made a valiant effort to contain her tears.

Naomi shook her head and said, "You have absolutely no right to that, Mr. Alfian Adams! Now go out of my room. I need to rest."

Naomi instantly turn around down and turned her back on her husband after finishing her sentence.

Alfian remarked, "I hope you think about it again Naomi, or Airin will act even more viciously than this."

After Alfian left her room, tears started to fall down her cheeks. The entire room was filled with the sound of Naomi sobbing; her life was stagnant. Naomi held onto the blanket, which was about to fall to the floor. For nearly two hours, she remained silent and in the same position.

For a time, Naomi was at a loss for words. Her thoughts were occupied by Alfian's earlier remarks. What will take place next?

Down a lengthy hallway lined with patients, Naomi unlocked the door to her room. Some of them utilized wheelchairs pushed by nurses, and some brought their IV poles with them.

Naomi paused in the space where she had been looking for a while.

'The NICU room.'

As her eyes scanned the dozens of infants in the incubator, Naomi grinned a little.

They had closed eyes and appeared to be enjoying their sleep because they were so tiny and frail.

Naomi's emotions warmed up very once; she was certain that her young daughter, who was born prematurely, was also in this chamber, which was a special space.

She went through the babies in the special box one by one. When Naomi couldn't locate her daughter, she started to get worried.

"Where's Angela?"

Naomi was incensed. She looked for the nurse on duty and questioned her swiftly.

"We're sorry, madam, but we don't understand what you're saying. However, I'll ask my colleagues who are on duty at NiCu."

"Please find out soon," Naomi begged.

The woman had a bad feeling when she didn't see her baby in the room.

Even though it had been more than twenty minutes, the nurse who had promised to check on the infant had still not arrived.

Naomi grew very uncomfortable. His head was full of negative ideas. Unconsciously, the woman chewed the tip of her finger. Her suspiciously narrowed eyes. The baby's trolley was pushed back into the room by two nurses.

As a reaction, Naomi went after it. The two nurses saw Naomi's actions and gave her dubious looks.

"Give me back my baby!"

Before the nurse intervened, she came close to removing the baby from the tube.

"Madam, what are you doing?"

"Give me back, my daughter! Give me back my daughter." Naomi yelled.

Naomi felt weird at the idea of giving her daughter to someone else.

Despite the fact that their efforts to calm them down were fruitless, the two nurses persisted. Even though the two nurses were already exhausted, Naomi remained adamant.

They could not have allowed Naomi to attempt to remove the infant from the incubator. It might be hazardous.

"Please comply, Madam."

Naomi yelled angrily, "No! You want to take my daughter, don't you, just confess it!"

"Our ma'am is a nurse, not a baby kidnapper," one of the nurses said with a quick peek up.

"She is mine!"

"Madam, calm down. Take a careful look. This isn't Mrs.'s daughter."

Naomi was silent. She turned once more, back at the baby who wasn't her daugher. Naomi still clearly remembers her beautiful baby. Her thin blonde mane and pale skin made her even more charming.

Naomi retreated a little distance. The baby in the incubator is not her daughter.

"He is not your daughter, he is a newborn boy, Madam."

The nurse felt bad as she noticed Naomi's pale face.

Naomi retreated. Then, she questioned, "Where is my daughter?"

The two nurses exchanged glances before turning around.

"Who your daughter's name, madam, might help us locate her inside."

"My daughter isn't inside," Naomi said.

"What-"

"Why is there a ruckus in front of the nursery, I wondered?"
