"The door was open when we arrived." That was what Stark replied. "By the way, I'm Tony Stark, now you have an idea."
"Sure, no wonder you seemed familiar to me, you're the tin man."
"It's Iron Man. Now could you explain to me how it is that overnight I wake up and find that you are one of the 2 shareholders of Stark Industries? I am the other in case you were wondering."
"Yeah, well I never thought that the Middle Eastern sun would have hurt you enough to drive you crazy so I figured you'd come up with something interesting and decided to take a chance buying Stark Industries stock when it crashed."
"So it was you after all and not that man Edward Smith. Peper was right. All right, how much do you want for those shares?"
"Nothing, because I was going to get rid of a gold mine like that. If it helps you, I don't intend to interfere in the decisions you make, you can do with Stark Industries what you want, you just have to give me my share. Maybe lend me to Miss Rushman on a few occasions, I'm sure there's a lot you could help me with."
Natasha gave him a flirtatious smile.
"Hey, no. Find your secretary and keep your hands off mine. That will be all for today, from now on you will be Peper's problem. I have no patience for teenagers."
Stark planned to leave, but I decided this was as good a time as any to give him more of a headache. "Mr. Stark before you go there is something I would like to inform you of, I was thinking of requesting a meeting with you, but finding you here saves me the trouble."
"Perhaps you already know, but today I arrived from Russia on a business trip. The reason for this trip was to hire the services of Ivan Vanko."
"Am I supposed to know who you're talking about?" Stark didn't seem the least bit intrigued, but that was about to change.
"I should, he is the son of Anton Vanko, a Russian scientist who worked with your father on the development of the ARC reactor."
Now he had the full attention of Stark who was more surprised than ever. "What are you talking about?" It was the first time since I arrived at the apartment that I had seen Stark so serious.
"It seems that there are some things that he is not aware of. Don't worry, I will fill you in on everything."
I slowly began to tell Stark everything I knew about Anton Vanko and finally ended up telling him what I intended to do when I hired Ivan. When I finished talking then I was surprised when Stark told me that I would have no problems with him if I allowed him to invest in my company and keep an eye on Ivan.
I quickly understood that Stark didn't want anyone to get hold of the ARC reactor technology and I agreed with him. I didn't mind agreeing to his request so I agreed to sell him 15% of the company I decided to call Targaryen Motors, the emblem, a horseman with a flaming sword riding a dragon.
We were about to finish when the bell rang and I knew very well who it was. When I opened the door the face that appeared was Peter's. Peter was going to tell me something, but he froze when he saw Stark, I think it was love at first sight.
"It is real?" He asked me pointing at Stark, God how is this the only friend I have, I should improve a little in that apartment, maybe I'll invite Logan to have a couple of beers.
"Yes, it's real. Peter, this is Tony Stark. Tony, I hope you don't mind if I call you Tony, I'm not very good with formalities."
"Of course, I'm not very good at that either."
Now with Stark's approval, I continued. "Tony, this is Peter Parker. The guy can be a bit clingy and I recommend you don't show him where you keep your underwear. Otherwise, he's a good guy."
Stark gave Peter a strange look and then answered me. "I will remember your advice."
Peter, who was still processing that he had just met one of his idols, was slow to react. "Please stop joking! Mr. Stark, I didn't hear any of Aegon's nonsense. Sir, it's an honor to meet you I'm an admirer of your work."
"An admirer, you seem like a smart boy. Tell me, Peter, have you ever tried shawarma?" Peter shook his head without saying a word. "Perfect, why don't you join me, I know a restaurant near here, let's go there, maybe you want to ask me some questions for a science project or something." Peter could only nod and give in to Stark.
I walked over to Natalie. "Miss Rushman, I know Stark has a reputation as a playboy, but I still want to ask you, I don't have to worry about Peter either." Natalie almost laughed. "Don't worry, Mr. Stark hasn't shown any such tendencies yet."
Minutes later I was alone in my apartment, however, I no longer feel like I retain my privacy, as I know if there is no listening device I will have to think of a solution for this, maybe Ivan can help me with it. For now, I'll just go to sleep after texting the girls that I'm already home. Come to think of it how did Peter know he was already here? He goes, who cares?
I woke up a couple of hours later when I felt someone break through the barrier he had activated before I went to bed. When I felt someone open the door and walk in I was reminded again that I need to improve the security of this place.
Today seemed to be the day of surprises, my new 'guest' was none other than Blade. "Please make yourself comfortable, it seems like everyone thinks he can come in whenever he pleases." Blade kept his serious demeanor and didn't sit down.
When Blade was going to say something I remembered that this was not the best place to have a conversation. "Wait, it's not very safe to talk here, I don't know if someone has put a microphone on me. Let me change and I'll buy you a beer." Blade just nodded.
[THIRD PERSON POV]
They were walking until they found a bar which they entered and took a table. "Okay, what do I owe your sudden visit to? Because I doubt you just stopped by to say hello. But more importantly, how the hell did you know how to find me?" Aegon asked remembering that he had worn a mask the first time they met, at the same time he signaled to the bartender to serve them, unfortunately for him he had not been lucky this time and there was no beautiful waitress to serve him at the bar.
Blade answered him and then got right to the point and told him what he wanted. "It's because of your smell (here I don't know if the vampires in Marvel have the most acute senses). I need to find a person."
"I understand. What are you a farmer?" Aegon thought to himself. "Have you tried a private detective, I don't see how I can help you with that?"
Blade just stared at him for a moment. "He is a vampire."
"Ok, I don't know what you may have understood about me the night we met, but I think it was clear that I am not a vampire."
The waiter who had come over to take his order looked them both up and down, probably thinking they were just 2 crazy people. "Would you like to order something?"
Aegon looked at Blade. "You can order whatever you want, I'll invite you."
"A beer."
"I'll just have a cola, I'm only 16." The waiter just nodded a little puzzled and left, Aegon's appearance could be mistaken for someone at least 20 years old.
It wasn't about him looking older than he was, it had more to do with the way he carried himself and the look on his face. It was like in those fantasy novels where there were beings that looked young but gave off the aura of a very ancient being.
When Blade heard that Aegon was a minor it was the first time Aegon had seen him show a different expression on his face other than his serious expression.
Although a little surprised, Blade kept a serious attitude but still asked. "Are you only 16?" Aegon just nodded. "What are you?"
That was a question Aegon had a hard time answering. Lately, he had begun to wonder if he should give what he was a name, there was always the possibility that his descendants would inherit his powers in the future.
"Let's just say I'm somewhat complicated and unique. There's no one else like me."
"How do you know you're the only one?" Blade asked a little doubtfully.
"Sorry, that's a secret."
The blade was silent for a moment until he continued. "Whatever. Let's get back to why I'm here. Can you contact the vampire from that night?"
"What makes you think I can do it? It's the first time he's seen her." Blade said nothing and stood silently looking at Aegon.
Aegon let out a sigh. "You're not good at socializing, right? Alright, I can contact the girl from that night, but she's not the one you're looking for." This wasn't a question and Blade knew it.
"That's right, but she might know where the vampire I'm looking for is."
"And you think she'll tell you, just because you ask?"
"I'm sure I can persuade her."
Aegon felt that he was getting involved in something that was none of his business and had a suspicion that he knew the name of the vampire Blade was looking for.
"Let's do something." Aegon decided to propose Blade. "I'll call Alyssa and ask her to track down the vampire you're looking for and once she finds it I'll help you eliminate it. Because I assume that's what you want to do."
"Why would you help me?"
"I'm getting to that now. In exchange for my and Alyssa's help, you are forbidden to hunt down Alyssa and Anastasia the other girl who left the club with us, she is now one of them." Blade started to say something, but Aegon waved his hand to let him finish.
"Of course, that does not mean that you ignore what they do, I will ask them to lead a more moderate life and only have dinner, let's say, dealers and similar people. If you ever catch them going out of line, you report it to me and I assure you they will receive a harsh punishment. If there is a second time, you can act as you wish."
Blade kept thinking until he made a decision. "You have a deal, but I only answer for myself, it's not my problem if someone else deletes them." If it was another vampire Blade was looking for he wouldn't have agreed to such a deal, but this one had turned out to be quite elusive and troublesome.
"Fair enough, just remember that for those you speak of, that kind of action could cost them their lives." Aegon decided to leave a small threat in the air, the loss of both women would only bother him for a while, but if he could avoid it he had better do it. Blade who understood perfectly nodded.
Aegon took the phone from him and called Alyssa who was happy enough that he called to interrupt the quality time she and Anastasia were having. After a bit of talk where the relationship between them was quite clear to Blade, or so he thought, Aegon ended the conversation.
"Ready, now all we have to do is wait 24 hours, that's what he told me it would take. Do you have a place where I can reach you?"
"I'll be in touch." Blade said no more and left.
"A see you later cost him nothing. I think I need more…normal friends."
On the way home, Aegon called Vanko and asked him to make sure his apartment was clear of eavesdroppers.
