Ch 16: Levizla the High Elven teacher.

Levizla POV.

Hmp! Just another boring annual entrance exam. I can't believe the University pulled me away from my important research just to survey some noble brats do some target practice and play fight with professor Edwards' golems.

It doesn't matter if it's a team base system of battle education that the students are subjected to this year, every year is the same old boring display of amateur to mediocre magic and combat skills. I wish there were other high elves in this school that they can send to use High appraisal skills for observation and scouting service.

The only solace I have is that I would get to see three of the six heroes in action today. Speak of the devils, here they come now. Sarah Barbosa, The Hero of Water, Gilbert Alzar, The Hero of Time, And Vina Rockforth, the Hero of Light. They are the heroes that saved the world from the Demons, or so people say.

I have lived for over two hundred years, and I know how governments, may they be humans or even us elves, love to either lie or exaggerate about their accomplishments. Well, whatever. We will see soon enough just how powerful these so called heroes are.

Unfortunately though, the Hero of Time couldn't do his exhibition on account of him being sick. So much for the legendary hero who's strategies and tactics were crucial in winning the war. I was really intrigue on how such a non-attribute magic could be used in combat. Now I'm not just getting bored, but annoyed as well.

It's a good thing the Hero of Water was up to the task. I was surprised when I used my appraisal skills on said hero. I saw that her stats are all listed as s rank and her water magic is at master tier. She summoned one water Sphere that shot out three waterjets and destroyed targets made out of Shadow Timber. It would appear that those here says have merit. With that effortless use of A class magic, the rumors of her and the Hero of Wind repelling a large demon force in an ocean battle is probably true too.

Next would be the Hero of Light, Vina. I felt my eyes opened wide as I saw that all her skills are at SS rank. and her light magic is at legendary level. To give you an understanding of just how crazy that is, skill rankings are as followed.

From lowest to highest:

G rank

F rank

E rank

D rank

C rank

B rank

A rank

S rank

SS rank

SSS rank

Legendary rank

Demigod rank

God rank

And Magic tier systems would be like this:

Beginner Tier

Novice Tier

Low Tier

Mid Tier

High Tier

Advance Tier

Mastery Tier

Legendary Tier

Demigod Tier

God Tier

Vina scales far above anyone I've ever seen in my entire two hundred years of life in this world. She performed a crescent slash attack that cut down her targets cleanly in half. This is certainly not boring anymore. Vina truly is humanity's champion. I can't wait to teach her everything I know about magic and mold her into an even more amazing magician.

After the heroes' performance, it was back to the boring old show I've grown accustomed to. Brats after brats trying to score big on the judges rating system. What a truly yawn inducing showcase. The only ones that showed any promise here are the children in group three, seven, and eight.

Hmp. Team fourteen, huh. I'm so disappointed at this point, I don't even feel like scanning these brats. Okay, let's get this over with. Three girls and three boys, huh. Heh, the only one that's worth any mention is the demon girl from the exchange program... wait! That green hair kid is using a high grade cloaking spell. It's making him seem like he has B rank skills and Mid tier magic. Don't tell me he's using this spell to buff himself up in the eyes of the University heads?

There's nothing I hate more than a cheating weakling. If he thinks he can just skirt off of his other teammates he has another thing coming. I guess it's time to use it. I wore my appraisal enhancing glasses that I designed myself and had crafted by a skilled dwarven blacksmith. This will boost my appraisal skills to that of a Great Elf.

Once I looked at the cheating brat again however, I had to do a double take. His image is not only just a pure black silhouette, but all his stats and tier are listed as question marks, as if the glasses is looking at an unknown creature. I scanned everyone else in the colosseum to make sure that the glasses weren't broken, and it was working fine. I can now clearly see the true forms of the demons in disguise as humans with the Great Elf appraisal, yet I still see that green haired Flesh Mage as nothing but a black silhouette with question marks coming out of him.

Then, I remembered something my professor told me over one hundred years ago. She said "If you ever come across anything that you cannot scan with your appraisal skills, run in the opposite direction of it. It would mean that the thing before you is beyond your ability to scale."

Great Elves are Elves that have reached the pinnacle of elven capabilities, and is said to be able to see the ability of people that are Demi-God rank and tier. If my Great Elf Eyes can't see his true image and ranking, than that would mean he is God rank and tier.

I initially shook my head, refusing to accept this finding that a mere flesh mage can be God like. however, that changed when he summoned his bow and arrow. Around sixty years ago, I came across a fellow that claimed to be the greatest Flesh mage to ever live. And he was no joke. He could heal multiple injured people weather their injuries were deep cut's, broken bones, or even severed body parts by either touching them directly or by being in close proximity to them. However, he could never construct weapons or anything of the sorts like this Flesh mage before me.

The Great Flesh mage told me he could construct a long staff like bone that he can use for close quarters combat in a short amount of time, but he said that constructing elaborate weapons are impossible because the weapon in question will need mana to be continuously poured in to it every second to maintain it. And yet, this young man has done the impossible.

He further broke my already shattered preconceptions of magic by delivering a truly devastating attack on the highly durable target. Once his arrow touched the target, a large explosion lit the projected image we were watching. The blast shook the colosseum as the loud bang of the explosion forced some people to cover their ears, and when the dust settled, the target had a large hole in it's center as if it was a hollowed out log.

After a few seconds of silence, the colosseum erupted with cheers of excitement from the spectacle they just witnessed. The complete opposite of my reaction, which was utter disbelief. "Monster" I uttered in whisper. What did I just see? Who is... No, the better question was What was that thing? You can't expect me to believe that that thing taking the exam is actually a human. That thing is a concentrated force of nature in the shape of a human. What the hell am I going to say in my report? How do you even describe that thing?

I had to take a breather to calm my mind. I left the colosseum and ignored the other eight teams that were about to take their turn in the arena. I had no idea how I got to the tavern near the colosseum, all I knew was I was muttering within my head "What the hell was that Bow and Arrow? What the hell was that thing using that bow and arrow?"

I had to drink alcohol to cool my tense nerves. Ahh, yes! The liquor in this tavern really is the best. The calming blend of this wine really helps my nerves. I can finally think more clearly, and what I came up with was the cold hard facts... That that green haired Flesh Mage is nothing but a fraud.

He must be a brat from a rich family that had a custom made Item that can fool even Great Elf appraisal skills, and another Item that hid the class S weapons that he used. Yes, that's the only explanation on how he can do that attack. I will definitely expose that cheating brat in this next exam!

I gleefully came back inside the colosseum and took my seat, eagerly awaiting the next test that the green haired fraud will take part in. I didn't need to wait long, as his team was the first to be chosen the take the last part of the exam. They took their stances in front of the imposing Prof. Edwards, and then watched as he summoned his earth golem

Prof. Edwards is at Advance tier with his Earth magic and nearing Master tier. His golem can probably take down at least twenty elite soldiers of this kingdom. This will force that fraud to show his true colors.

However, as the fight commenced, an unfathomable outcome took place. The team manage to stagger the golem by attacking it's head with concentrated long range magic, then followed it up with powerful attacks to the joints of it's knees. The Demon girl then used her fire ball magic to partially melt the chest of the golem where it's core was located. Once the golem's core was exposed, the green haired Flesh mage then finished off Prof. Edwards' creation with another one of his exploding arrows.

The explosion from the arrow was not as intense as the first one, but since it was concentrated at the soul stone core of the golem, a gem equally as durable as a Shadow Timber, the blast was strong enough to send the hefty head of the golem flying. It was unfortunate that the trajectory of the head's flight was heading directly at the demon girl.

I instinctively jumped out of my seat and yelped at the sight of the tragedy that's about to take place right before my eyes. Before the demon got crushed by the golem's massive head though, the demon girl vanished from where she stood, with the head catching only wind as it hit the hard surface of the stone floor.

Before I could even ask myself what happened, I noticed that the green haired Flesh mage had the demon girl in his arms via a princess carry. I then noticed the new boots that is on his feet as they sparked electricity for a second. It then dawned on me that in that brief moment of the golems head about to hit the demon girl, not only did the flesh mage reacted, he was also able to construct the right magic Item fast enough to save her.

There's no denying the truth at this point. This green haired Flesh mage was no fraud. He is the really deal. I living breathing force of nature. A creature that surpassed any flesh mage, nay, any mage in existence. With powers like his, he can use any magic he wishes to in any scenario, at any given time. Screw the Hero of Light, This green haired Flesh mage is the only student I need to turn my theories in to facts.

I didn't bother going to the rewards ceremony with the others. I did all the research I could on the green haired mage and found that his name was Selcurial Malferd Shroudder, the only son of the famous family of doctors. It's says in his records that he served the military in the Human VS Demon war for four years until the war ended. If that's the case, why is he such an unknown person? Someone as powerful as him should have been listed as the hero.

This is truly bizarre. However, I was not deterred. I will find out more about this Selcurial Malferd Shroudder and use him to further my research. He will be the key to my long awaited dream magic. The Life Creation magic will finally be mine.
