Melissa's POV

"Lisa, have never seen you going for lunch. Just this once, pretty please" she insisted pouting her mouth. It's lunch time and everyone is going for break but I don't like going for lunch. I always end up been embarrassed and attacked by Natalie and her minions.

"Hermione, please stop. You know I don't want trouble. Going for lunch is like inviting trouble. Am not!"

"Don't worry, I'm here with you. I will fight for you. Don't you want to see Mason's face. We didn't have the same class for the first and second period but sure he do come for break. Let's go!" She whined.

"No. I don't want to see his face". I replied.

"Listen you…" She was cut off by Carl. "Hermione, aren't u going for lunch. We can go together right" Ryan called up to her. Wow… When did they both start speaking. Am missing out on a whole lot of things.

"Oh really" she replied smiling sheepishly. I roll my eyes at them and stood up ready to leave the class.

"Is Melissa not coming with us" oh, he knows my name.

" she is, Melissa, won't u?" I walked out and left them behind in the class. It's obvious Ryan Likes her.

Hmmph.. Am not going to that lunch place, its trouble. I walked on the corridor which is now very quiet. Should I go to the garden? I didnt step my foot in there since when Mason's guard saw me in the garden. Those brat!

I walked on and met my self at the entrance of the garden. I peeped in to check whether someone is there. No one! I walked in and sat on the only bench available. I picked my headphone and plugged it in. I love this! Peaceful and quiet. I smiled not until I heard shuffling and the space beside me been covered. I turned and mason… He sat down beside me.

I was shocked. I stared at him. This is the first time am seeing his side profile at a close range. Yea, he wasn't looking at me but staring at the flowers in front of us. I dragged my eyes away and paused my music. What is he doing here? I looked around and noticed his guards aren't with him. Now, I wasn't fine. I don't know but am not okay.

Every girl will want this but am not okay. Should I just stand up and leave? I was thinking of what to do when his cold voice cut through my thought.

"Don't u talk?" He asked. He spoke to me. He just said something. I looked at him. He is indifferent. He isn't even looking at me. Maybe I was dreaming. I said and stood up wanting to leave.

I felt a warm hand on my wrist pulling me back to my seat. Mason… I was shocked. I turned and this time he was looking at me with those blue eyes. Blue eyes! I dreamt it today, the blue eyes.

"Don't u speak?" He asked again. Which means am not imagining things. I removed my hand from his placing it on my lap and sat upright looking down at my hands. I replied " I can".

He moved and sat upright. Then he brought something out from his pocket.

"Here. I brought u this. I noticed u don't come out for lunch" He said handing chips to me.

What? What does he mean? Does he watch over me. I reached out and collect it.

"Eat it now!" He said authoritatively. What's wrong with him? I opened and start eating from it.

"Thanks" I murmured. We dropped into an uncomfortable silence.

"Have u eaten?" I asked. I should, right. He brought some snacks for me to eat so I should ask him to show I care too or maybe I just wanted to start a conversation. The silence is too uncomfortable.

"Yea. Come for lunch often" He said. I turned to look at him.

"I dont want to. Am inviting trouble by going there" I whined.

He looked at me amused.

"Don't worry, you should sit with me". He replied. What?

"That would be inviting more trouble" I said raising my hands up. He looked at me with admiration and smiled. He smiled. Yes, he did. Wow, he has a dimple. I never noticed.

"Come to lunch often and sit with me" He said and stood up. "The break should be over by now". I nodded and he walked away. I watched his retreating figure smiling unknowingly.

He is nice. I heard that he is so arrogant and cold but the only thing cold abt him is his voice. He is nice to me. I found myself smiling again.

Jace POV

"Jace" Oh shit! We had meeting with Mr Urlacher and it ended well and I tried my best to ignore Noel. But now….

"Are u ignoring me. I just wanna talk. Can't I have a talk with an old friend of mine" she said smiling sheepishly. She still look young and pretty but I hate her to the core.

"What do u want Noel? I don't want your trouble, u are always up to no good". I replied feeling irritated already. We are outside the Urlacher company and passer by are already staring at us.

"What? Jace, is that how to greet an old friend. Okay, let me get straight to the point. Let's have a drink som…." I cut her off.

"Am busy. And I don't want to talk with you. Let's pretend we don't know each other. Please, I beg of u Noel, leave me alone. I don't want a drink with you" I said and got into my car. "She is trouble herself and I don't want to have anything to do with trouble".

Noel's POV

I got down from my car and strode into the house. Everywhere is dead silent and I can't sense Natalie anywhere. Ohh… She should be in school. I climbed the stairs tiredly. Ohh Jace… He still looks as dashing as he was.

"Ma'am, do u need anything?"

"No, I will rest in my room. No disturbance". I said heading to my room.

I dropped on my bed like a log of wood. I never expected to see Jace at the meeting today. Eissh… he can't run away from me forever. We will meet cos we are meant to be. Yea, we are.

I felt a presence in my room. I stood up and glanced around. No one is here but I am feeling the presence of…. A demon??

Who? I stood up. "Show yourself".

" Noel, u can't even recognize my scent".

"Zayn. What are you doing here" I walked past him and locked the door.

"You should come visit Kazarath once in a while. Your powers aren't the same anymore. You couldn't even recognize my presence*. He said and sat on my bed. I rolled my eyes at him.

"And that's because I am not using my powers often". "What are you here for?" I asked.

"You don't know. U didnt feel anything for the past two weeks. Tssk.. Noel"

"What?" I went closer to him. "The past two weeks, I was in the hospital". He stood up and came closer to me, checking me out. "Stop it" I removed his hands from my body. "I am not hurt. Just there for something. Tell me what happened" I know he likes me but I don't. Even though he is cute, I'm older than him.

"Well, Aries sent me to you," I chuckled. He dared not call him by his name in front of him. Aries is my twin brother and in charge of the demon world.

"They are back. I can feel their presence. Their scent is much stronger in this human world". He said. "Who?" I asked.

"Ur step brother and his mate whom u killed 24 years ago". I smirked.

"I killed him and his mate. So they are dead".

"They are back". I looked at him trying to find a hint of mischief but none. I killed him and wiped out the whole pack. Does that explain why Maddy kept telling me about smelling weird scents?

"If they are alive, they should be old by now. They were way older than me. Apart from that, I killed them and wiped out her pack. I wiped out the MoonKnight pack so no one could bear her scent. It's impossible" I said and sat down.

"Pay more attention to your surroundings, I saw him while coming here. He was on a big thing moving….."

"Mum" the door opened at once. I turned around and saw Natalie. I turned to my side and realized Zayn is gone. Haaa.. I put my hand on my chest and was relieved. We were so engrossed in the discussion that we didn't notice Natalie scent.

"Mom, you are home" she said and hugged me.

"Yea, I am" I said hugging her back. "And I'm going nowhere" she smiled hearing that.

"How was school today?" I asked while she sat on my bed.

"Today is good mum, I sat on Mason's table during lunch and he didn't send me away or something. Though I tried starting a conversation with him but he didn't budge and he stood up to attend to something. Maybe it was important". She said.

"Oh, maybe he went to attend to something important. Hmm.. U wanted to show me his pictures w…."

"Yea, come check it out" she cut me off and picked up her phone going through her gallery. "Here mom" She hand her phone to me.

I stared at the picture on the phone dumbfound. Mason? No… It can't be. It's impossible. I rubbed my face with my palm and stared again.

"Mom! What's wrong" Natalie asked alarmed. I checked the next picture and saw the same face, the next… Next… Next..

"Nooooo!!!" I shouted dropping the phone.

"Mom! What's wrong? Are you okay?" Natalie asked coming close to me.

"Don't come close to me. Don't!" I warned and strode out of the house.
