Chapter Thirty Four
After Ryoko and the old sorceress finished meditating they now sat with the others explaining what happened during their trip to the spirit world
"there these little people like spirits they were so cute and I even carried one of them-" Ryoko said while eating a flower cake
"which you weren't supposed to," the sorceress said
"Why," Belinda asked
"because they become unstable around humans," she said taking a sip of her tea
"that's because you're the only human they've met," Ryoko says causing the servants to chuckle
" you and your smart mouth," the sorceress said smacking her upside the head
"hey!" Ryoko said holding her head
"so why are you here," the sorceress asked taking another sip of her tea
"We fell here," Ryoko says eating the last bit of cake
"you what?" the sorceress said
"We fell through a bunny hole and ended up here," Elena said
"oh really no one has been able to find this place in years," the sorceress says slightly shocked
"We didn't find it we stumbled upon it," Ryoko says
"what's the difference," the sorceress asked
"you said it like we were looking for you," Ryoko said
"your smart mouth will get you killed," the sorceress says with an annoyed expression
"not in this timeline," Viper says chuckling
"well we should be going thank you for your hospitality," Silver says grabbing Ryoko
"wait where are you headed," the sorceress asks
"We're looking for someone," Haru says as the rest of the group stood to leave with Ryoko and Silver
"oh? And who may this someone be" the sorceress asks, curiosity written on her face
" a man named Kaito Guhiken," Karla says
"hmm and why do you need to meet this man," she asks
"We're going to train with him," Ryoko says jumpily
"oh well then have this," the sorceress said handing them a crystal
"what is this?" Haru asks taking the sapphire crystal carefully into her hands
"It's a demon dragon's core"
"demon dragon? what is that supposed to be " Viper asks looking at the crystal curiously
"It's a dragon gone rogue this is its core it's a very powerful relic," says the sorceress
"oh thank you, " Haru said placing it in one of their bags
"off course hopefully that little smart mouth doesn't get you all killed," the sorceress says looking at Ryok
"and hopefully destiny doesn't catch up to you," Ryoko says approaching the same hole they came through
"you little!-" the servants all giggled bidding the group goodbye.
After a short while the group was once again in the desert which was dark and almost unbearably hot. The group continued their journey, while most of them stayed asleep the entire time especially Viper, Ryoko on the other hand stayed up examining the stone
"you should sleep"
"What the- who said that?" Ryoko asks looking around "It's me, Silver" he says
"but you aren't even moving your mouth," she says in a quiet tone trying to not wake up the others
"I'm talking directly to your head through a special link shared between magical beings and their spirit animals
"woah so cool!" Ryoko shouted forgetting the others were asleep
"you can do the same thing you know," Said Silver sighing at her loudness
"whoops sorry about that" she whispered in a small voice
"so how do I do it?" she asks
"just talk but not out loud talk in your head like you're thinking," said Silver
"okay like this?" Ryoko asked
"very good young dragon," said Silver proudly
"cool," said Ryoko going back to examining the stone in her hand.
After a while, Ryoko spotted something in the distance
"Silver can you see that?" asked Ryoko
"yes actually I spotted it quite a while ago," he says in response
"haaah! why didn't you say anything?" Ryoko asks having expected him to alert them f he saw something
"I don't sense any form of a threat from it so I didn't deem it important"
"is something the matter?" Ryoko turns to Haru and the others waking up
"oh nothing wrong particularly but Silver and I spotted something," says Ryoko
"don't tell me it's another bunny hole," says Viper getting up last
"no actually it looks more like a tower of some sort," Says Haru
"Should we check it out?" asks Karla
"Maybe we'll find something useful," says Ryoko stuffing the stone into her bag
"or we'll get killed," says Viper
"since when were you scared of dying," says Ryoko mockingly as Silver approaches the tower
"don't you dare mock me," says Viper with clenched teeth
"Oh wow this is one huge tower," says Elena in a small voice.
the tower had a Roman feel to it, it stood at about a hundred feet in height towering greatly over all of them, it had a sandy brown coloration and the exterior design resembled that of ancient buildings in Rome.
"so, um are we going in yet?" asks Elena
"what? yes we're going in why do you ask?" says Ryoko not taking her eyes off the mysterious building in front of them
"well we've been standing here for almost 15 minutes," says Viper
"oh right, um let's go now," says Ryoko taking careful steps to the massive doors, she moved to knock but before she could the door opened
"oh no don't tell me that door just opened itself," says Elena holding onto Karla as they walked into the tower ready to fight or run in case of an attack. walking further into the building they soon realized that the tower was a library with winding staircases leading to different sections of the library going all the way to the top. there were a large number of shelves and numerous books lined each shelf big and small.
"oh wow this is amazing," said Elena in a breathy voice
"it is, maybe we can find some information about this person we're looking for," Tatsuya says stepping further into the library when the ground moved in a motion that resembled carpets throwing him backward
"Are you okay!?" asks Elena and Karla
"yeah I'm fine" he says standing up from where he landed
"NONE OF YOU WILL BE FINE MUCH LESS ALIVE IF YOU DON'T EXPLAIN YOUR REASON FOR INTRUDING"...
