Full Moon

{Jake} it all started with his name, Zeus, the first man discovered with demon blood, who drinks human blood for survival {stared at his son} just like you; but Sanguinex, no one must know about your new nature, not even Alvaro.

{Sanguinex} yes father, {coughs} I promise. {coughs again, and again... as it grew worse}

{Jake} are you okay, son? {he pats his shoulder gently. {a wolf howled}

{Sanguinex} did you hear that?

{Jake} what son?

{Sanguinex} the wolf, {ran to the window and drew the curtains} its full moon father.

{Jake} the moon is opposite the sun in the sky, {stood up and walked to the window and exclaimed} my days, this is beautiful, so rare.

Amid the starlight was the ever glow of the moon, that mother of the sky who watched over every beating heart, steady and true.

{Sanguinex} oh I don't feel so well. {neck cracks} AHH! {he yelled}

{Jake} are you okay son? {he gets closer}

Sanguinex started sweating profusely and breaking every bone in his body, his father was so frightened as he stood beside a corner, shivering in fear. Sanguinex's skin started tearing and blood started gushing out.

{Sanguinex} my eyes! {he cried} they are on fireee!!

Jake was too scared to say a word, he watched Sanguinex develop long nails out of its taloned hands and dip his fingers into his eyes and plucked them out. that, was the most horrible moment for Jake, as he watched Sanguinex develop another eye, red and shining so bright, Jake was so terrified. Sanguinex screamed so loud as if he was in pain as he finally transformed into a wild dog, a huge and furry one, it was a wolf. he flipped his tail and dust his body off the massive blood on him. then he began to eat his human flesh. Jake was so astonished and in shock. when Sang-wolf was done, he stared at his father and ran away from the window. {Howl} he goes, at the moon and ran into the woods.

{Jake} I have never seen this kind of mystery in my life, he is possessed with demon blood; but I can't hurt him, his son, my flesh and blood, my only child. he's only sick, I'll just have to look for a cure before he hurts someone.

while in the woods, some group of wolf hunters came by with their torchlight, hunting dogs and weapons. Ichigo, one of the wolf hunters saw Sang and started chasing him. Sang-wolf ran but Ichigo shot him on its leg and it fell injured. Ichigo came to where he was lying to tie him up but Sang-wolf lost control and bit him. Ichigo screamed, others got frightened and fled.

Early as dawn, Jake found Sanguinex in front of his doorstep naked and covered in blood. he took him in, Cleaned him up and removed the bullet.

{Sanguinex} I'm hungry, please...{he pleaded with rage in his eyes}

Jake quickly got him some blood which he fed on, and just like magic, Sanguinex wounds were healed.

{Jake} so this is it? {he asked depressed} on a day there's no blood, you are likely to devour me? this is not our life soon, I need to find you a cure soon, you can't be possessed with two features; a bloodsucker and a demon dog, you need a cure son, you're sick.

Sanguinex sat in front of his father, mopping him, all he could say was "watch your mouth man, I didn't make myself this way" which seemed to be true, Sanguinex didn't make himself. he tried to calm himself down and not hurt his father because, as a hybrid, families are important, despite the tragedy of heightened emotions, his father is all he's got.

Life is the most sacred of gifts heaven can bestow, that which is yours and those in the rest of creation, everything on earth is a blessing and a curse, but in either way, one has to make good of certain privileges others don't have, which is what makes us different and special.

it's been two decades now since Jake had Sanguinex, so the people of Kome decided it was time to crown him leader, while Sanguinex formed a group of warriors. Jake doesn't have to go hunting anymore, as he now has people who worship him and would do anything for him; so decided to quietly study his son and help find a cure for him.

things seemed to turn around a little for Alvaro, as he finds himself a committed woman he looks forward to being in a union with. everything seemed to be going so well in Kome but not for Ichigo, who feels like his life is becoming weird.

after that night in the woods, he woke up in the woods with an injured hand, he tied it up and went home. from that day, he made sure, they were cleaned as he would pour some local self-prescribed medications on it.

A few days on, he began to lose appetite for his regular food, and also perceive, hear and see things from a far distance. at first, he felt it was normal as he felt the urge to eat fresh meats and the brains of animals. he began to lift things no normal person can, that was when he realised that he wasn't normal and must have been bitten by a demon, so he decided to move into the woods of Kome so as not to be caught and executed. he built a tent there and lived there.

Jake, felt the need to swallow his own fear, to expand the safe zone of others; to become the stoic leader they deserve, he decided to go hunting and get a bear for a party in order to please his people as a great warrior and a great leader. but unfortunately he never returned from the hunt. his son waited till the next day, he sent warriors in search of his father. moments later, warriors arrived and presented Jake's corpse to Sanguinex. his body was covered in blood and bite marks.

"He must have been bitten by a wild animal..." one of the warriors said.

but then, his skull was cut open and his brain missing, what must have been his fate?. the mystery of the death of Jake was like a puzzle to Sanguinex as he doesn't know who, and why his father was the victim.
