"Hello, Alessandra."
She squinted into the darkness as a manly figure approached. As he got closer, she froze in shock.
"What are you doing here? What are you doing in my house?" she fired off questions, panic setting in. She quickly glanced around to see if anyone was nearby. Grabbing his hand, she pulled him into a corner. "What do you want?" she asked angrily, still worried someone might see them.
"I want my daughter," he replied.
Shocked by his words, she turned to him. "What do you mean, David?"
"You know exactly what I mean. Rose is my daughter, and I want her with me," he thundered, revealing that he now knew the truth.
Unknown to them, someone was now present.
"Rose isn't your daughter; she's Elliot's only child," she retorted.
David let out a cruel laugh. "Ales, do you think I'm stupid? I know Rose is my daughter". He continued, "And I know you had something to do with Elliot's death because he found out the truth."
Ruby froze at his accusation.
"WHAT?!" a distant voice exclaimed, followed by the sound of shattering glass.
It was Rose, standing in shock. Tears were already streaming down her cheeks as her eyes locked onto her mother in disbelief.
Ruby felt numb, unsure of what to do. Her eyes filled with tears as she looked at her daughter, who was yearning to hear Ruby (her mother) say something.
But Ruby just stood there, frozen, while David reached for Rose, trying to pull her away.
At that moment, it felt as if her soul had shattered, and she let out a desperate scream.
Suddenly, she woke up, her body drenched in sweat. Tears streaming down her face. Heart racing, she rushed to Rose's room, only to find the door locked.
She turned to leave, battling her thoughts that it was just a nightmare - a nightmare that felt all too real.
As she walked away, lost in her mind, she didn't notice Rose opening the door.
"How can I help you?" Rose asked, her voice reminiscent of the earlier shock.
#"WHAT?!", a distant voice exclaimed, followed by the sound of shattering glass.#
Shivering, Ruby slowly turned to face her. Rose didn't look well; it seemed she had been crying. "What do you want?" she spoke rudely, hastily wiping her tears.
Ruby didn't respond, her gaze fixed on Rose's heavy eyelids. A wave of worry washed over her--had Rose discovered the truth, or was her dream somehow real?
"Are you alright?", Ruby finally asked, her voice trembling.
Rose felt a flicker of relief at her mother's concern. As tears continued to flow, she realized this was the first time her mother had asked her that question, and it brought her a sense of comfort.
Ruby felt scared and concerned looking at her sad daughter cry.
"I'm not alright," Rose admitted, tears still falling but a hint of smile breaking through.
Though she was sad, she felt relieved because she believed her mother had come to check on her, sensing that she wasn't doing well.
Ruby, who had never been a mother figure, was confused. Her mind raced with the possibility that Rose might have found out the truth.
As Rose stepped closer, she wrapped her arms around Ruby, weeping uncontrollably. "Why did Daddy leave us?"
Ruby's heart twisted at her daughter's words, memories flooding back of David's departure.
#"No, that's not what I mean. I'm willing to stand by you always, but Alessandra, we can't have a baby—not now."...# Those words echoing in her mind.
She recalled how she had gone home in tears that day.
#...Ales came closer to him, she hugged him while crying, she said to him in his ears, "David, you'll marry me, say you will" .
Alessandra had asked him, hugging him tightly, but he didn't embrace her back.
Realizing this, she pulled away and gently asked, "David, are you scared? Is it my parents?".
He remained silent, his eyes heavy with unshed tears.
"Ales, I can't marry you. You know it's impossible. I'm not good enough for you," he said.
Holding him tightly, she smiled through her tears as she tried to convince him, "It's possible, David. We can go far away where they won't find us."
She placed his hand on her stomach and looked at him lovingly. "It will just be you, me, and our child."
He pulled away, anger flashing in his eyes. "Ales, why can't you understand? I'm not good enough for you, and this—this can never work."
Heartbroken by his words, she shouted, "Why aren't you worthy of me now? Why now?"
He stepped closer and said, "It was just a mistake; it wasn't meant to be this way."
"A mistake?" she echoed, tears streaming down her face. "Dorris warned me."
He held her chin gently, trying to reassure her. "I'll fix this, Ales. I'll go somewhere, work hard, and become worthy of you. Then I'll come back, and we can start over."
"Just do me one favor: get rid of that child first," he said, waiting for her response.
"I will not kill our child!" she insisted stubbornly. #
