Troubling Organizations

At the sound of his voice, Chang Jianhong and Zhang Yu swiveled their heads in unison, their gaze settling on the duo of Luo Yin and Mu Kongdong.

Without wasting much time, the two of them obliged and refrained from executing their attack.

The large Ethereal Sword and the Ball of Scorching Flame faded from existence and their corporeal forms gradually reverted to their usual appearance, the glow of the mystical Qi subsiding, and the surrounding pressure abating.

Mu Kongdong's scrutinizing gaze swept over the vast expanse, his expression turning sour slowly but steadily upon beholding the massive crater that marred the landscape.

Turning his attention to the darkly-clad figure, who appeared to be naught but a wisp of smoke, his disquiet only grew.

With his attention now focused on the two, Mu Kongdong spoke, his tone measured and deliberate. "What is the meaning of this commotion? What precipitated this show of force from you esteemed warriors?"

"Your Excellency," Chang Jianhong began, bowing low in a gesture of deference.

"We implore your forgiveness for the impromptu display of force. However, we were compelled to act upon discovering the presence of a suspicious interloper who triggered our Divine Sense. His nefarious intentions were palpable, and we could not, in good conscience, stand idly by."

Chang Jianhong's demeanor remained calm, his features marked by a serene smile that conveyed his conviction in the righteousness of his actions.

As Chang Jianhong finished his explanation, Luo Yin pondered, "First those grotesque creatures behind the thick veil of mist in the skies and now this suspicious figure… and still Senior Li Mingze took no actions," he thought to himself, his expression remaining neutral.

At that moment, another voice came from a nearby distance, capturing everyone's attention.

"Please desist," The speaker was none other than Mei Ling, the striking blue-haired beauty who rushed towards them with Hei Bing following her lead from behind.

Upon sighting Mei Ling, Luo Yin spoke up, "Please enlighten us on what is happening here," he inquired with his eyes fixed on Mei Ling.

"Indeed," added Mu Kongdong, nodding his head in agreement. "Just what were those things?"

Mei Ling appeared visibly calm as she took in the massive crater before her and gazed towards the dark figure covered in extreme wounds. Returning her attention to Luo Yin, a smile appeared on her face.

Mei Ling turned her attention towards Luo Yin and said "First and foremost, I must express my profound appreciation to all of you for your invaluable assistance," she stated.

Everyone present appeared somewhat puzzled by her words, even though they understood her intentions, they felt that it was their responsibility to seek forgiveness instead of receiving words of gratitude for causing such a ruckus.

Luo Yin interjected, interrupting Mei Ling. "We can address your gratitude later. Can you please enlighten us on the situation at hand?" he asked, his tone assertive.

Mei Ling nodded in affirmation before taking a moment to collect her thoughts. "Yes," she began. "This was an attempt to disrupt the peace of this town," she explained, her voice laced with conviction.

"The people behind it are surely from one of the several many rebel organizations, I believe that I had mentioned a little about these before."

"So, it's like that." Mu Kongdong muttered.

"So, these were one of those groups causing troubles for the people of this world," Luo Yin thought, "They didn't seem so strong, maybe we can handle it without much effort."

She paused momentarily before continuing. "The beings that materialized in the sky were Dead Souls, under the control of a Master. The culprit behind all of this is most likely him," she said, her eyes shifting towards the dark figure.

Luo Yin acknowledged her statement as he murmured "I see," as he continued to scrutinize the shadowy figure.

Without hesitation, he posed another question, "Why is it that the town was under attack, yet Senior Li Mingze failed to take action?"

Mei Ling shook her head, "I am afraid I do not have an answer to that. Only Senior Li Mingze would be privy to such information," she said.

"Hmm..." Luo Yin said nothing.

"Could it be that he's being bound by something?" He pondered.

Mei Ling bowed her head, "I would like to extend my gratitude to all of you for capturing the culprit," she stated sincerely.

Luo Yin gently interjected, "There is no need for that," his voice laced with a serene cadence. "Admittedly, we may have apprehended the culprit responsible for this tragedy, but it is impossible to ignore the immense damage that we have inflicted upon this beautiful town," he continued, his gaze sweeping across the desolate landscape.
