Chapter 2
Good afternoon everyone, sorry to be late! Mom, dad, Sarah, Mr. and Mrs. Craig. Kyle said acknowledging everyone before he sat.
Nice to see you son. You look very handsome today. Kyle's mother said to him smiling brightly.
We were now discussing the agreement for the marriage Kyle. This union with both Sarah and you would only strengthen both companies further. Kyle's father said in a serious tone.
So when are we looking at for the engagement to take place? Kyle asked casually
In three months time. Mr Craig said and looked at Sarah and then Kyle for any objections.
Like Kyle, Sarah knew that joining both companies was mandatory with both parents and so the date was set for Saturday 24th September at 7pm at the Wibelton Restaurant. It was agreed that the both parties would send their guest list with a maximum of one hundred from each side at the end of the month. After discussing further details about the engagement, they all had lunch together and then departed their separate ways.
Several hours later, Kyle sat with his best friend, Joe, drinking and chatting about their day.
So how was your meeting for the engagement? Joe asked as he eyed him to see his reaction
Sunday 24th September at 7pm at the Wimbleton Restaurant so save the date. Kyle said uninterestedly
And what did you think about Sarah? Joe pressed
Well everyone knows that Sarah is promiscuous but this marriage will merge both companies, placing it at the top and join the two families. Since I've been a small child I've been hearing about this arranged marriage so I gather the time have arrived. Kyle said as he looked Joe in the eye.
Call me old fashioned Kyle but I want to get married to someone I can see myself spending the rest of my life with. Joe said
Kyle became silent for quite a long while. Joe glanced at him several times while he watched a game on the television. Finally, Joe could take it no more and began speaking.
So I've known you since we were teens and I can tell that something is wrong! So spill it? Joe asked
Kyle remained silent.
You'd think that you're going to get engaged soon and fulfill you parents wishes that you'd be happier Kyle! Joe said concerned
Joe I met a women today on my way in to the restaurant that is stuck in my head. I touched her shoulders to get her attention and I felt a surge of electricity pass through my body. She was fucking mesmerizing and she's now stuck in my head! Kyle said as he thought about her.
Sounds intense! So what her name? Where is she from? Joe questioned
That's the thing Joe, I know nothing about her! Like you remember in college when we wanted to get girls numbers that we used the money play? Kyle said grinning
Joe laughed out loudly.
Yes I remember. Gosh that was the best move ever! So you got her number? Joe said excitedly
No she didn't fall for any of it! Kyle said and turned serious
I don't know her name, don't know where she lives nor do I have her number! Kyle said drumming his fingers on the table
Well maybe its for the best seeing that you're gonna be engaged soon! As far as I see, you cant afford to have a summer fling with the engagement being so close anyway as it could only complicated matters. Joe said
I guess you're right. Kyle said and they both continued drinking
Several minutes later Joe smiled and hit Kyle's hand abruptly.
Which restaurant you said you went too and saw her Kyle? The Wimbleton's? Joe asked hastily
Yes the Wimbletons! She was existing the restaurant around 1pm. Why? Kyle asked curiously
Kyle my cousin works at that restaurant in the surveillance departament. For a reasonable cost I'm sure he can call you if and when she goes back! Joe said smiling
Joe I'm so happy I could kiss you! Arrange it! I'll cover whatever it cost. Kyle said as he poured two shots.
Immediately, Joe took out his phone and made the necessary arrangements and hung up.
He said for five hundred he'd give you a call when she comes in again! Joe said
Best five hundred I would be spending Joe! Make it happen! Kyle replied as the both men continued to drink and watch the game that was on.
