Chapter 32

Kyle waited on her at her usual table at the Wimbleton's Restaurant.  It was already after one and Sam still hadn't shown up. He had his head down looking at the napkin he had opened, as he remembered particular memories of each date they had been on. He never thought in a million years that heartbreak could have given him such immense pain. Then he saw the movement beside him and lifted up his eyes. He did this just in time to see Sam sitting opposite him.

I'm here Kyle. You have five minutes. Sam said

Sam! Kyle said and looked at her eyes for a brief moment and turned away.  

Thank you for coming. Anyway I wanted to say sorry for doing what I did to you. But I never meant for it to happen …. Kyle began saying but was interrupted by Sam.

Fuck sale Kyle, you asked my here to feed me bullshit? You knew how this would end. You thought that you could have a fling and fuck me in the three months you had before your engagement and then give me money and that I'd take it and go away! Sam said looking at him dead in the eye

But I thought you were like most girls that I know. Then I got to know you and I fell in love with you and didn't want what we had to stop. I don't love Sarah I love you Sam. Tell me you believe me please? Kyle said.

Sam laugh softly,

The first day I met you I sat at this exact table and I thought to myself that you were a narcissistic, pompous, spoiled arse that did not care for anyone but himself and his wants. But then you pretended to be someone you're not and made me break down walls I took years to put up because it was a challenge for you to get with me. You were always going to do you from the beginning and maybe you planned to go through with your engagement hoping that I wouldn't have found out but then I did and your were caught. So now you're feeling guilty since you knew what I told you I had been through and you called me here today to give me the money you agreed too. But love, Kyle? No, you don't know what's it like to love someone and then find out they are not who you think they are! Sam continued

Every time I close my eyes I see you Sam. Every where I go I see some thing that reminds me of spending time with you. Every time I try to eat I remember our cottage lunch together. Kyle cried as he looked at the teardrops that fell from Sam's face.

You don't love me Kyle, I have to go! Sam said and she attempted to get up. Kyle grabbed her hand.

Sam this is for you! Please take it. I did the dumb shit so it is yours! Sam saw the cheque for ten thousand and the napkin with the agreement.

I dont want your money Kyle. Besides as far as I see it, I lost also. So lets call it null and void and leave it as is! Sam said

I did the dumb shit Sam please just take the money! Kyle said in an aggravated tone.

Yes you did do the dumb shit but I also lost because I gave my heart to you before we completed the ten dates. Sam said as she tried to move Kyle's hand off hers.

Sam please don't leave me! Kyle said as Sam removed his hand from hers.

Just then a customer of Sam saw her and came up to her.

Sam Excuse me, I just wanted to say how delightful your cheesecake was. My grand kids loved it. But I stopped by today to order another for when they return next week and the cashier told me you were going out of the country for awhile. Is that so? The old woman asked.

Yes Mrs. Carson I'm returning to my country for a bit but I'll be sure to call you when I get back okay. Sam replied

Yes, call me as soon as you get back Sam. The elderly woman said

Take care of yourself until then Mrs. Carson. Sam answered as the woman walked away and went back to her table.

You're leaving Sam? Kyle asked as his whole world began collasping.

Sam turned her head forward,

Goodbye Kyle….take care of yourself. And believe it or not I truly wish you and Sarah a happy life. She said and walked away.
