Sammy look who I just met and invited to sit with us! Richard said as he ran his hands down her back and rested it on her butt.

Oh my goodness, Kyle, Joe! Sam said and greeted them as she looked at them in amazement.

At once she could see the hurt, the anger and the pain in Kyle's eyes and the shock that Joe had on his.

Samantha Chase you're still esquisite as the first day I met you. Joe said and smiled broadly.

And you Joe, are the same sweet man that always had the nicest things to say to me! Sam said as Richard let her move around so she could be next to her daughter.

I was now telling Kyle how lucky I was to have met you through him so many years ago Sammy! Richard said as he brushed his hands on her cheeks and Sam smiled.

Did you mention to him that you spent thousands of dollars trying to track me down to ask me on a date about two years after we met? Sam said and smiled at Richard.

The money and time was well work it Sammy! Look at us now! Richard said and winked at Sam

Kyle said nothing but just looked at Sam and her daughter and thought of what he could have had.

So how long are you guys here for? And where do you guys live now? Kyle asked hoping that he could somehow meet with Sam alone.

Actually we don't live in this country anymore and is only here for the night! I've left everything here and moved to Sam's home country to be with her several years ago. But we visit often when our businesses require it. That was the best decision I ever made! Richard said as he watched Sam and Summer.

So how's the family? I'm sure by now you guys have families of your own. Sam asked trying to change the subject to take away the anger that she saw rising in Kyle's face.

I'm still looking for that special one Sam! Joe said and smiled

You'll find her soon enough Joe, I assure you. Sam said as she played with Summer's hair.

Well since Richard have stolen you away from us, I guess I'll have to get serious and look harder now! Joe said and laughed

What about you Kyle? Still happily married with your kid? Sam asked

Yes Sam I am still married to Sarah and as you recall she was expecting when we last saw each other and spoke. It was a boy and his name is Jaden! Kyle said

Yes, I remembered when that happened! So he should be about seven now! Sam said to Kyle

Yes he is! Just like Summer! How old is she? Kyle said calmly

Summer is six! Well I'm glad Sarah and Jaden worked out for you Kyle! Sam said

Nothing was said for a while and then Sam spoke,

Well gentlemen it was a pleasure meeting you after so long but I think I'll be taking Summer up for the night. Take care of yourselves Kyle and Joe. Sam said and got up with her daughter while Richard got up to allow them to pass.

Richard did not hesitate to kiss Sam long and hard in front of the men before she left him.

I'll be up in a few minutes okay Sammy. Richard said as he bent down and also kissed Summer on her cheeks.

Sure, take your time Richard! Sam said and walked slowly away with her daughter.

Kyle gave her a few minutes to walk ahead and then nudged Joe under the table.

Guys excuse me for one minute while I say hello to an old friend! Kyle said and got up and left knowing that Joe read the play and will entertain Richard in a long conversation until he got back.

He ran to her and met her as they were almost to the elevator. And just as the first time they ever met, Kyle touched her on her shoulder and instantly felt the electrifying energy they always had together.

Sam! Kyle said as she turned around and he watched directly into her eyes, searching for anything to spark. And then he saw it but Sam quickly blinked it away.

Kyle then saw the water slowly begin to fill her eyes and he knew she was thinking about what they had together. The memories of the laughter, the cries, the fights and the sex from their encounter. Suddenly he felt the urge to hold her hand and as soon as he did, they both felt the amazing connection once again.

Kyle please let's not do this! She said as she pulled her hand abruptly away from his, after feeling the strong connection.

Sam, being afraid of the intimacy they shared and still had for each other after so many years, quickly took Summer up and held her on her hips.

Sam I need you to know how sorry I am for how things ended and for hurting you! Till this day though, I've never stopped loving you. I've thought about you almost everyday since you've left and I don't like the man who I've become. Kyle said almost in a pleading tone.

Not because we love something means it's good for us Kyle. You were destined to be with the family and life you have now! What we had was just as you called it to Joe in the beginning, a fling! Sam continued

You know that's not true Sam! You felt everything I felt and still do! I've wondered for years how you knew I was there with Sarah at the baby store that day! Today I think I've gotten my answer! Is Summer mines Sam? Kyle asked as he looked at the little girl in her hands.

Sam was silent for quite a while.

You know as well as I do Kyle that you already have the family that your parents arranged for your future so that question will not make a difference now.

She is everything I pictured our daughter would have looked like Sam! Kyle said as he saw Sam turn around and begin to slowly walk away.

Sam, are you happier with him than when you were with me? Tell me and I'll fight to get you back! Kyle continued.

Sam hesitated for a few seconds and then began walking into the elevator.

She turned around and she looked at him with Summer still on her hips and Kyle instantly knew. He knew Sam was saying goodbye to him for the final time. He saw her eyes turn to glass and the tears roll slowly down her face.

I stopped believing in your broken promises seven years ago Kyle. Don't forget what you promised me to do if things ever changed with Sarah and you! Sam said and then the elevator door closed.

Sam was devastated as was Kyle because they both knew that the electrifying connection still burned within them for each other after so many years. However, as they both walked their separate ways, flashes of memories they had together kept flooding their minds as tears slid down their faces. Both unaware that they would have to wait decades for another lifetime to begin, when their souls would again meet and try to unite.
