Chapter 41

Bella drove home to her place in the city because she could not face her parents without them questioning here about her swollen eyes and demeanor.  For her entire ride home she cried until she had a massive migraine.

Thankfully however, she was done with her final case and she could put all this behind her including Kyle and what he did to her. As she walked up the stairs and opened the door a knew wave of tears began to fall when she remembered Kyle, Karl, Charlie and James being there the last time she was in her place. Hell their coffee cups and water bottles still stood on her counter.

Bella picked up the cups and placed them in the sink and washed them. She threw away the rest of the bottles and took down all the information from the board and then walked into her bathroom and soaked into tub while smoking a joint and sipping wine. After an hour she got out and changed and went to bed.

When Bella had left, Karl checked her coordinates and saw the location she was referring too.

Father we have to go and check out the location Bella just gave us! Karl said

Alpha Czar just shook his head and walked inside the house. He walked directly to Kyle's room and opened the door. Jean was on the bed with the frog still crying.

Jean, Bella just brought back Lizzy. She's unconscious and James took her to the hospital but you should go across because James will be leaving with Karl and Charlie to check out the location Bella provided to them. Czar said

What? Lizzy is back? Bella brought our daughter back to us! Jean said and flew up from the bed and began crying loudly as she went to Czar and hugged him.

Go to her my love and call me when she becomes conscious. The Alpha said as he kissed his mate lovingly on her forehead and wiped her tear stained face with his thumbs.

I want to speak to Kyle! He continued and Jean walked away and left the room. Kyle's father sat down beside the frog on the bed an began to speak,

Kyle today you embarrassed and disrespected me to such an extent that I was ready to disown you as my son.  What you did today to our  family and Bella was disgusting! And now that your brother and the rest of the team need you, you're not there for them!

You treated that woman so poorly and yet she brought your sister back to us. And even though she asked that we do not call her and we may not see her again, she left me wondering where did I go wrong with you.

Someday Kyle, you will be Alpha of our pack and the qualities I saw in you today, well it ached my heart tremendously. I expected better from you! And you of all people know what I represent and what I stand for and yet you behaved in such a vile way. I am truly disappointed in you Kyle, I truly am! The Alpha said with tears flowing down his face.

Several minutes later, Kyle's father got up of the bed, walked out of the room and shut the door.

Kyle sat on the bed feeling sick from what he had done. He could tell how hurt his actions made his father feel and it saddened him. Then he thought of Bella and all the hurtful things he said to her and his heart ached.

He knew that as soon as he changed back he would try to find her to apologize and explain to her what had happened. He decided that he would confess to her that he was hurt and did not mean any of it. Would she allow him to say it to her is something that worried him because he knew now that she was more powerful than him and his team and she seemed to have no weaknesses.

But he made up his mind that he didn't care what pain she would have inflicted, he had to make this right even though it meant her not being in his life.

Karl, Charlie and James had just arrived several yards away from the building and the cave. They did surveillance on the surroundings for several hours.

How is Lizzy, James? Charlie asked as they all continued to watch the premises ahead of them.

She's doing fine! The healers says that the wolfbane they had next to her along with her pregnancy, weakened her greatly. But that she will make a full recovery over the next several days. Thankfully, we'll get to spend her birthday with her and our litter. James answered happily

You mean thank God Bella was able to rescue her but that meant whoever held her knew of Lizzy's superpowers! Karl said

That's right! But again it could be anyone from our pack! James answered.

Talking about Bella, do you guys ever think that she'll forgive us? Charlie asked

We? What did we do Charlie? We did nothing! This is all on Kyle! I'm not taking blame for any of his shit! Maybe I should have told her the truth from the day I met her at the bar about us and what happened decades ago but that's all I'm guilty for! Karl stated

I was so sorry for the things Kyle said to her! Now I feel even more terrible since she still saved Lizzy and gave us the location. James added.

Yea I know what you mean, I feel the same way. But on a brighter note, look at this selfie! Karl said and showed off his picture with Kyle as a frog and Karl smiling broadly next to him.

The team looked and grinned.

I thought your father would have popped his veins when you told him about building that pond for Kyle. James laughed

I swear I thought that was hilarious but as soon as I saw his look I literally swallowed my laugh. Charlie chimed in

One thing for sure, this baby in picture frames will make the ideal end of the year gift for everyone! Karl said smiling broadly.

You guys ready to leave? I need to check on Kyle and get him some flies for dinner. Besides we can't do anything without his presence, not like we have Bella on our side again. Karl said sarcastically

Several minutes later, the team left the location and drove back to the main house.

The next day,  the entire family except Lizzy stood around Kyle's bed watching to see if he was going to change back.

We still have several minutes to make it twenty four hours guys. Karl said staring down at his brother.

No it should be about now because I remember meeting Bella promptly at nine and it didn't even make five minutes before Kyle stormed in. The Alpha replied

Suddenly seconds after Czar said those words, the frog began to let out grainy, golden dust particles and like magic there was a cloud of smoke and Kyle's body appeared on the bed.

Thank goodness! Jean exclaimed as she placed her hand on her mate's hand and kissed him, thankful Kyle had changed back to himself.

Now that he's back, I have matters that I need to attend too. Such as meeting with the elders to explain what happened yesterday on the both incidents with Bella. Alpha Czar said roughly and walked out the room.

I'm glad you're back to yourself baby even though I'm still very much upset at you for how you treated Bella! And to think I thought she was ideal for you. But now Kyle, I think she's too good for you! Jean said and kissed Kyle on his forehead and began to walk to Kyle's bedroom door.

Mom I'm sorry but I didn't know Bella was the investigator. I swear I didn't mean anything I said. I was just hurt and acted stupidly. Kyle said apologetically

Kyle, you should not have spoken to any woman in that manner even if you are hurt. We grew you better than that son or at least we thought we did! Jean said and walked out of the room.

Ugh you should take a shower too Kyle! Your skin looks slimy! Karl said while he closely inspected him since Kyle changed back and even after their mother had left the room.

James how's Lizzy? Kyle immediately asked

She's with the healers at hospital as they try to cleanse her from the wolfbane, but she'll be okay in a few days Kyle. James answered smiling

What about the location? Kyle asked Karl who was still looking over Kyle's body

We did some surveillance yesterday and it's just as Bella said, heavily guarded and armed with over a thousand soldiers. Karl answered inserting Bella's name into his sentence to see Kyle's reaction.

What's the plan? Charlie asked

For now, nothing! Just stay here and protect the pack! We will monitor the rogues and at the same time safeguard the settlement. Us going there and attacking that many right now, will surely send us to our graves! Well atleast that's the plan until father advises otherwise! Kyle answered.

Yeah especially since you chased away our secret weapon yesterday with you bullshit imagination! I told you that couldn't be true what you saw! I pleaded with you to not to do any shit to mess up what we had with Bella and yet you did! The saddest thing is that she didn't deserve the way you treated her! Karl scolded.

Not now Karl! Kyle said and he got up and ran to the bathroom and shut the door.

Everyone stood waiting for him to come out. Ten minutes later Kyle came out smelling incredible and looking clean.

And where are you going? Karl asked as he began to watch Kyle search for his car keys and wallet

I have to find Bella and apologize! Kyle said

I don't think you should go to her so soon Kyle. Give her a few days to cool off...possibly a few years as a matter of fact if it was me! Charlie said

I can't Charlie! She needs to know that everything I said was a lie because I was hurt. Kyle replied.

Kyle I think you should seriously try calling her and not going to her! Did you see what she did yesterday? She's a witch man, think about what you're doing! James advised

James I don't care what she does to me, I just need to let her know the truth about how I truly feel about her and apologize. Kyle answered

Kyle you do know that the probability of a frog getting smashed by a car in the city is quite high, right? But wait! Can we tag along just to see what Bella does to you when you approach her? From a distance that is! Lord knows I know better than to help you out if she's hurting you as I'm still experiencing interval episodes of shakiness. You know what? Nevermind! Cause if I'm not there, I won't know anything other than you died! Charlie I think we'll need to go the city to get that recently bought black and white suit for Kyle's funeral! Karl added causing Kyle to look up and give him a mean stare

Not fucking now Karl! Kyle shouted knowing the fear he was feeling at that said time without Karl having to rub it in more.

In fact that was all Kyle had laid in his bed and thought about for the past few hours while waiting until Bella's spell wore off. Hell yes he feared for his life but deep down he knew that Bella had to feel something to be with him.

Kyle! Kyle! Kyle! Karl kept calling his brother.

What Karl? What the fuck do you want? Kyle screamed

Your keys and your wallet are in your car. Go get her buddy! Karl said and walked out Kyle's room.

James and Charlie followed soon after leaving Kyle in his room as he looked into the mirror.

Wolf, wolf you there? Kyle asked worriedly since he had not heard from his wolf since their last fight at the cabin.

Wolf I'm sorry okay! Come back please. Karl begged but still got no answer.

After several minutes, Kyle took a deep breath and walked out to the car. He started the rumbling engine and immediately sped down the driveway towards Bella's place.
