Chapter 44

So Mom, what do you take to a werewolf's induction ceremony? Bella asked Claire late Saturday morning.

I don't know since you are the first of our kind to be invited to one Bella. Times are truly changing! Possibly a chewing bone for them or newborn clothes! Claire answered

Really, well that's interesting to know about being the first! Should I be worried? Incase they would want to use me as a sacrifice or something mother? Bella asked in a serious tone

I very much doubt my darling, given that they've seen what you could do with members of their family! Claire said and chuckled

Off all thing! A frog! I've never in several decades thought about changing someone into a frog! What really possessed you to do that to that boy Bella? Claire continued

Mom I was so mad at the time that only two things popped in my head. It was that or a snake so I chose the frog. Bella said smiling

But this here, this is why I don't tell you everything Mom! Most parents console their kids when they are experiencing heartbreak, but not mines, they make fun of your actions. You now now thinking about it, you guys were lucky we were on vacation and you had to rush me to the hospital with that food poisoning episode, otherwise you guys would not have known about my condition and I'dhave sure not told you just for being this way! Bella said

Honey there was over a hundred things you could have changed him into as a Witch! You know like a parrot, a skunk even a rock! And my daughter chose to turn a werewolf into a frog! As for most parents, well you know we're definitely not like most. And Bella I can't believe you'd think about not letting us know something so important when we've always supported you in whatever you wanted to do. You remember when you were eight and wanted to watch a horror and we told you no and you were mad with us for months until we allowed you to watched it on your own and we had to all be in the house by six or else you'd start crying uncontrollably and say we'd be eaten by aliens if we didn't? Claire said laughing

Everything in life is a learning lesson baby even heartbreak.  The only difference is how we handle it! Kyle surely was wrong for his actions and how he handled it but it just sounds like he didn't want to lose you. And Bella I know how special you are and cannot ever picture living life without you! Claire said happily to her daughter when instantly Bella heard her father roar out loudly like a bear and immediately the laughter from Claire filled the background.

You two are impossible sometimes! Bye mom, say hi to dad for me when you can stop the laughing, love you! Bella said

Love you too pumpkin. Bella I need to tell you something before you go. You need to talk to Kyle, it's the right thing to do. Claire said still giggling and hung up.

Bella continued to stroll through the store with a basket with three velvet hooded rompers for the pups. She was debating with herself whether Donna had told her that Lizzy had given birth to two girls and a boy or vice versa so she chose primary colors for the three. Yet Bella still wasn't contented with that lone purchase, after all these pups were royalty since their grandfather was an Alpha. Bella thought as she browsed through the aisle looking for anything else that may catch her eyes. She then came upon the chew bones and instantly had a brilliant idea.

She quickly grabbed up three of the massive bones and went to the cashier with the rompers. She paid for the items and went home where she cast a spell on the bones that made them everlasting. She then placed them in the three gift bags with a romper each, tied them with a ribbon at the handles and wrote her name on one of the card. Bella also bought some stuff for her also and packed it in a bag to take to the mountains.

Then she quickly showered and got ready in a cream coloured silk A line spaghetti strap dress and a open toe mid high heels to match. She let her hair loose and did a light make up and packed the stuff in her car and headed towards the mountains.

Just last week Bella had left home with her father and traded in her Porsche car for a more economical vehicle. After viewing many make and models with her dad, she settled for both of their favorite, the Porsche Cayenne Turbo SUV. Definitely it was more spacious than the last vehicle and even though it wasn't as fast, Bella loved it.

As Bella entered the mountains she immediately felt nervousness take over her body. She hadn't thought about Kyle in a while but as she watched the huge billboard welcoming people to the Dark Moon mountains, she realized that he was all she could think about.

At the werewolf's settlement, everyone was in high spirits as they prepared for the ceremony. Charlie and Karl helped Lizzy with organizing the food while Kyle worked on the decorations with James along with other staff members. Lizzy and Jean was too preoccupied with the pups who had become quite active over the past week.

The place looks nice guys, good job! Lizzy commended her family who was busy ensuring everything was exactly how Lizzy wanted it and ensuring it was up to her standard.

Charlie and Karl your taste in food is exceptional Lizzy said as she took up a mini sandwiches and tasted it

Well with our joining ceremony taking place next month, we had time to test out a few dishes and these here were the best. Charlie said

I appreciate it quite a lot that you guys waited for my return to have it done! Lizzy said and smiled broadly

Liz you know if we didn't, we'd have never heard the end of it from you. Look how you reacted to us just getting married at the courthouse without you! Karl replied sarcastically

Yea well that was a low blow for me! And quite frankly I'm still hurt! Lizzy answered as she rolled her eyes and attempted to walk away.

Lizzy I see you have an additional seat on our table with no name next to the Alpha, who's it for? I hope not one of your vampire friends because they seriously creep me out! I'm always wondering if I should keep a stake under the table!. Karl asked with concern.

This from a werewolf with powers, okay then! That seat is for Bella! Lizzy said casually but causing Karl to spit out a piece of bread on Lizzy's face.

What the hell Karl? You fucking asshole! Lizzy said as she quickly grabbed away the piece of bread from Zayn's hand when it fell on her.

Lizzy are you crazy? Do you really want to invite Bella here with all these werewolves who saw what she is capable off? And poor Kyle! Karl hissed softly

First and most importantly, Bella was the one that made all this possible so whoever werewolves or vampires that don't like it, don't necessarily have to be here period! Lizzy said as she used her hands to motion  around the room.

And secondly, since when you care so much about Kyle's well being! Hell you both are always at each other's throat! Lizzy asked in a skeptical manner.

Lizzy that's how our relationship have always been but you above all people know that even with Kyle's dysfunctional thought perceptions, most times I've got his back. For Pete sake don't you see how he treats Bell differently from Zayn and Elle! He's still hurting for Bella! Karl said sadly

Look well if she comes, seeing that she didn't give me a definite answer, he will just have to suck it up for one night. Besides dad knows that I was going to ask her to come and he was okay with it on one condition and that was that Bella sit very close to him and mom, so there! Lizzy said

Well be wary tonight when she arrives because we don't know what fuckery Kyle will do or say but I assure you Bella will leave here angry! Karl warned

Karl  why are you so pessimistic all the time! Everything will go smoothly tonight and everyone will have an enjoyable time! And watch you tongue around my pups before I wring your big ears okay! Lizzy said while Charlie giggled.

I'm a realist Lizzy! But don't say I didn't want you! And you're correcting me about cursing when you just cursed first in front of them!! Karl answered and look towards his brother and said a silent prayer.

Do as I say and not as I do! Finally I can start using that parental-phrase as I'm a mom and it feels so good! No wonder that mom use to use it so much on us while growing up! Lizzy said an laughed out loudly.

Bella arrived a little after six as was the stipulated time on the card. She pulled up to the guard booth and checked in and even though the guard eyed her intensely for a while, he let her through. She observed several new security features installed such as an electric fence, taller gates etc on her way in and straight away remembered what she had seen at the caves.

However as soon as she arrived at the main house and parked, her thoughts shifted to what had occurred the last time she was there at the settlement with Kyle and his family. She immediately began her breathing exercises and tried to calm herself.

Common Bella, you can do this! She said trying to boost herself up.

She quickly got out of the car and opened the back seat and took out the three baby patterned gift bags and walked up to the door. She was then greeted by a polite werewolf and she handed him her card, which he looked at. He then took her gift bags and placed it on a huge table filled with gifts and took her by her arms and lead her to Alpha Czar's table.

On entering the room, Bella cursed at herself for being late when she saw James, Lizzy, her pups and some old werewolves in robes standing on a massive stage. Bella's entrance had even caused a small stir among other guests as she was lead to the Alpha's table.

When the werewolf brought Bella up from behind their backs and presented her to the Alpha, Bella could see the initial surprise on all their faces and immediately began to feel uncomfortable.

Hello Alpha Czar, Jean and the rest of the family. Bella said softly as she bowed towards Czar.

Bella it is wonderful to see you. After the last time you left I thought I'd never see you again but when Lizzy is insistent on something happening she doesn't take no for an answer, does she? The Alpha said to Bella smiling broadly.

No she doesn't Sir! Bella said and smiled back knowing that was a true statement from experience.

I think I have a feeling why she wanted you here with us Bella. Have a seat and you will soon see for yourself as the ceremony is about to start! the Alpha said and patted the empty seat next to him.

Bella felt Kyle's on her from the moment she presented herself. She avoided his eyes because she knew that she didn't want to be wrapped up in what could have been. She had bigger matters to handle in a few months and she could not be distracted with the unnecessary roller coaster ride relationship that Kyle and she had initially had.

As the three healers began to raise the pups, Bella heard they begin to shout their names one by one.

We present to you first born, brother Zayn. One healer shouted as she raised him into the air for the congregation to see.

Next, we present sister, Elle! The second healer shouted followed by the same action.

And lastly sister Bell! The final healer said and all three pups was raised up causing a long, loud chorus of howling while everyone clapped.

Even the entire family sitting with her began to howl. Bella felt honored sitting there among them when she heard that Lizzy named her pup after her and understood then, why Lizzy wanted her there so badly.
