Everything was happening so fast and it seemed as though fate had something else for Lisa.
The new change of environment and the scenery of the university sharpened her quest for knowledge cause no one else could make her adapt easily to the new stage of her life.
Frederick had his challenges in some aspects but knew Lisa was smarter than him and so they'd study together after lectures before heading back to their respective lodges.
"Babe...thank goodness you're with me, how would I cope" He lamented.
"Oh come on!...we ain't in the department but at least I have a few knowledge in your field of study...back then in highschool" She replied.
"You're my upcoming editor you know right? " He chuckled.
"And you're my soon to be chemical engineer handsome young man" she replied hilariously as they both complimented each other.
"I'll be having late lectures today so we won't be able to meet as usual" Lisa said as she flipped the pages of her journal.
"Oh my and I wanted us to hang out today babe" He said sadly.
"Don't be sad...my grown baby" She teased.
"I'm serious babe...you know I've missed you" He lamented.
"And I miss you too but my lectures comes first...besides we're in the same university and nothing would stop us from being together" She added curtly.
"Promise to have lunch withe tomorrow...let's pinky swear"
"That's so old school...are you still in the fifth grade?" She teased in laughter.
"Who cares....just do it" He insisted.
"Alright...I...pinky...swear to have lunch with you tomorrow"
"Now that's better...see you then"
"You're such a grown baby" She teased loudly and laughed at him.
Frederick didn't want anything to affect their blissful relationship especially when there are lots of cute guys around.
He gets so jealous whenever he sees her talking with any guy especially the super cute ones.
Frederick almost fought with a guy who was trying to flirt with Lisa.
He angrily pulled her away from him immediately he saw them by the stairs talking.
He was a freshman but he never had any intentions of flirting with Lisa.
Thompson wasn't the kind of person who flirts with girls who have boyfriends except he's really into her.
"Why staring at my girl like that...?" Frederick asked angrily.
"Chill bro...we were just talking" Thompson replied rudely.
Lisa held Frederick's hand so he wouldn't try to hit him.
"He wasn't doing anything...we were just talking and he's in my department" Lisa pleaded.
Frederick had a temper especially when it comes to matters like this but he was being protective of her.
Lisa never figured that he would be so attached to the extent of trying to hurt someone for her sake.
Frederick always tried to hide his weakness which is anger, his mother knew her son's condition but concealed it from everyone else.
Frederick did something outrageous while he was sixteen and since then his mother concealed the hidden truth.
He almost stabbed himself the day his father tried to beat up his mother.
He's dad came home drunk that night and tried to force himself on his poor wife.
Frederick stood by the door of his room and watched his dad pounce on his mother but he shouted loudly and his dad fell from the couch and slept off.
On seeing such act, he became depressed and ran inside in tears but instead of crying like how a young child should, he picked up a kitchen knife which he used to cut some apples in his room and tried to stab himself.
Mrs Courtney grabbed the knife from him immediately she entered the room to console him since she heard him shout earlier.
She was dumbfounded at what she had just experienced. Frederick's eyes were red as though he had inhaled something bad.
She later took him to the hospital for check up.
The doctor revealed that he needed mental counseling cause of his anger issues and also prescribed some medications for him.
He responded to the medications but still had that anger issue. She never told anyone about it even her husband wasn't aware.
Frederick nurtured the character but always finds a way to manage situations that may cause him to get really angry.
He apologised to Thompson later that day as pressured by Lisa.
Lisa made him promise never to act in such a manner ever again.
"Your boyfriend needs to put himself together not everyone will be as gentle with him" Thompson added.
"He's not like this trust me...I simply don't understand why the sudden attitude" She lamented.
"Maybe something is bothering him...speak to him about it"
"I'll...anyways thanks for understanding Thompson" She said smiling.
"It's fine...see you later Lisa" He said curtly and walked away.
Lisa begins to ponder about Frederick's recent change of attitude but couldn't understand anything.
"Well he's just jealous and protective I guess" She soliloquized.
She refused to have the conversation about what happened earlier but knew that certainly something was just not right.
"I'm sorry okay....I've apologised like a million times already" He lamented as he sipped a glass of soda which he bought earlier from the school's cafeteria.
"You've never acted this way before...you almost punched him there" She jolted.
"What if you hurt him and get expelled you know how disciplined the school is" She added.
He sighed heavily and stood to breathe some fresh air.
"You ain't saying anything right..." She scolded.
"I thought he was flirting with you and I reacted...don't making a fuss about it" He jolted.
"Oh my goodness! He wasn't flirting...we were just discussing like two college students. stop being jealous over nothing" She smirked.
"I love you Lisa and I wouldn't want anyone else to touch you....you're mine alone"
"No one is trying to take me away from you...we're here to study okay" She replied.
"Please focus on your goal so we both can graduate with outstanding degrees...our parents needs to be proud of us" Lisa added.
"I promise not to ever behave in such a manner...I pinky swear babe" He said curtly but hilariously.
"Here we go again...you jerk" She responded in laughter.
"I kinda missed that name yunno" He teased.
"Oh I see"
"No way...don't you dare call me that ever again please...it's so annoying" He reprimanded.
"Okay...I won't ever call you that anymore...happy now?
"Yes! I love the sound of that" He said smiling profusely at her beautiful face"
