The anticipation was finally over as her nerves got tensed at the sight of the magnificent billboard of the university with the inscription "The university of southern California".
"Finally!" Lisa said happily as she braced in excitement.
The chauffeur parked close to the entrance and pulled the car's boot open to pack the luggages.
She began to reminisce her parents goodbye advices and prayers earlier before setting out for school.
Mrs Gina showered her with lots of kisses and hugs as though she didn't want her to leave.
"My princess is finally a college student" She said with mixed emotions.
"Mum...come on, my school isn't quite far from home and I'll be visiting once in a while okay" Lisa responds in encouragement as they both hug tightly.
Lisa's dad wasn't much of the emotional type so he basically acted like a full grown American Dad.
"You think she'd stay with us forever...women and their excesses" He jolted but in a rather hilarious manner.
Mrs Gina paid no attention to his bickering.
"Don't forget to make mummy proud okay?"
Lisa smiled as she remembered those exact words while she was in high school, it was practically her mum's only sermon every day at that time.
"Yes mummy...I sure will" She added as pecks her on the cheeks.
Such moments were special to Lisa and she wouldn't miss such thoughtful words.
"Ma'am your luggages have all been put in place and should incase you need anything please don't hesitate to inform me" The chauffeur said in eloquence.
The school's environment was a beauty to behold with everything well maintained and spotless.
"No wonder it's one of the most expensive colleges in LA...I'm glad to be here" Lisa whispered silently and tried to call Frederick to know if he was already there.
She takes a walk round the school's conference halls.
"I wish Betty could see this!...this is amazing"
Just as she walked into one of the big halls, a girl bump into her while looking around.
"Oh! I'm so sorry...it wasn't intentional believe me" She apologised swiftly.
"It's fine...It's can see you're a freshman cause you certainly look like one" The other girl said confidently.
"Oh! Yes it's quite obvious I'm right...silly me" Lisa said timidly.
"Come on it's okay to be a freshman and apparently I'm also new here so we're even" She teased.
"Oh my goodness...I never thought otherwise. Thought you were like a senior here though" Lisa responded in relief knowing that she didn't make a fool of herself since they were both newbies.
"Oh! Pardon my manners...I'm Laura Dickson from Malibu but my parents stay in Germany and I just got admitted here" Laura said frankly.
"Wow...well I'm Lisa Wellington and it's a pleasure meeting you my fellow freshman" She replied hilariously as they both walk round and exchange pleasantries.
Lisa's first day was stressful as she had to do some orientation. But laura which seemed to be a high spirited girl with lots of humour made her first day even less hectic and more thrilling.
"I heard there are lots of cute boys here" Laura whispered as they walked past some students.
"Oh that's interesting but I really don't care less about that my dear" Lisa sneered as she gave a rather lousy expression.
"Come on girl...don't be mad just wanted to see your reaction" Laura teased.
Laura was the daughter of an FBI agent and so her attitude speaks for itself. Her father never failed to make sure his daughter is safe.
Laura has always been under high surveillance cause of the nature of her dad's job but she disliked the idea of having a bodyguard. Having such unnecessary attention drawn to her was a total waste of time and resources and so her dad trained her to be a martial art fighter at least for self protection.
She attended high school In Germany cause her dad was transfered for a special investigation. Her mother was pregnant when they moved to Germany and delivered the baby just few months after they arrived.
Well both girls had some things in common with Lisa's dad being a lawyer and laura's an undercover FBI agent. They were both daughters to two hunted men and basically had their lives in high risk.
Frederick arrived two days after Lisa but couldn't get to see her cause their lodges were quite far from each other.
Betty couldn't get her mind off the fact that she missed an opportunity to attend one of the best colleges in California but each time she thinks about it, her father's wealth clouds her mind. The thought of being the only heiress of such immense wealth excites her.
Her dad is in his fifties but still dogged and strong enough to keep up with life.
Mr Peter's company renders quality services with a couple of other assets and shares from other engineering companies.
She doesn't really know what life has in store for her as she's living in a fool's paradise.
Mr Duke gave strict orders to Gregory concerning his son's safety.
"Make sure nothing happens to my boy...not even a single scratch on him!" Mr Duke commanded.
"I'm leaving him in your care cause I trust you to do a good job...you know I hate mistakes" He added.
"Yes boss...I would always do your bidding" Gregory replied confidently with a stern face.
"One more thing...Are the consignments ready?" He asked curtly.
"Yes boss...I spoke with the guys yesterday and they're ready to deliver"
"....deliver what dad?" Raphael cuts in
"Oh!...just my usual appointments...you know your father doesn't joke with his business" Mr Duke responded hastily.
"Dad...hope you ain't doing anything shady again?" Raphael reprimanded.
"How dare you speak such in my presence..." He said angrily.
Raphael wasn't in support of his father's illegal deals and had always criticised it.
Mr Duke refused to make a promise to Raphael when he asked him to cause he knew that was the only thing that could possibly make him stop his shady deals.
"Dad!...I'm never a party to this your so called appointments and business okay!" He jolted.
"Get out of my sight this instance" He yelled loudly and swerved his chair abruptly avoiding Raphael's eyes.
"I'm off to school father....take care and don't bother about me cause you never cared anyways" He said angrily but in a sorrowful tone.
"Gregory you know what to do" Mr Duke said.
Raphael quickly got his luggages and rushed to the car to drive off but the chaffeur didn't let him.
"Young master please let me do my job"
"But I can drive myself...I'm not a child anymore" Raphael argued immensely.
"I know young master but please" He beckoned.
"Alright then...but just this once cause it's my first day" He replied.
"Yes young master Raphael...I'm at your service"
Gregory stood close to the door of the spotless Range Rover which was brought few days ago by the chaffeur.
He opened the door swiftly as Raphael enters in anger from his earlier encounter with his dad but even in his angry state, he appeared to be more handsome than before.
"Thank you Gregory for I'm beginning to fancy your kind gestures" Raphael chuckled.
"Thank you young master Raphael...I'm here to serve you as instructed sir" Gregory responded curtly as he sat at the front seat of the luxurious ride.
Mr Duke stood and watched them for awhile till they left the villa which was enviably large and beautiful.
