Tough Fight

Snowman was right. Xue Ying's blood had increased back to 30%. And it seemed to be increasing again!

"Hey Ash, did they say anything about this in the guide?" PandaHero asked.

"No, this time they deliberately kept it brief."

Most of the time, his teammates depended on him to read the guide and tell them the important points. Because they were…lazy. Ash was the God in Dreams of Jianghu, as long as he was around, there was nothing they couldn't conquer. However, it seemed that even Ash had trouble figuring out what was happening to the game right now.

After all, it has been a few years since they game had launched. The game developers were probably thinking of ways to spice things up for seasoned players like them.

"Is this some bug? Some Dungeons are full of bugs during the launch."

"If Ash can't figure this out, then we're doomed…"

Ignoring his teammate's nonsense, Ash tried to think. There must be a reason the boss's blood is increasing.

"How long did you guys take to clear the spirits of the disciples?" he asked.

"I don't know, maybe a few minutes?" PandaHero answered. The moment he finished answering, another wave of spirits appeared. "What the? Didn't we just kill them?"

PandaHero and MysticSlayer were back in action, doing what they did just minutes ago - clearing the spirits.

"Oh, this is sickening. Are they gonna keep appearing?" MysticSlayer was annoyed.

As they were fighting, Ash noticed that there was a timer below the boss's life bar and figured out what was the issue. It was so tiny that he almost missed it until it turned red.

PandaHero and MysticSlayer were still busy clearing the spirits when the timer disappeared. If he was right, they had to finish killing all the spirits before the timer is gone or the boss's life will increase again.

"Don't be disappointed, the boss's life is gonna increase again…" he warned. The next moment, it rose back from 20% to 30% again. History was repeating.

"You figured out the problem? What did we do wrong?"

"There's a tiny timer every time the spirits appear. We have to clear them before it turns red and disappears. Otherwise, the boss's blood will increase again and we'll be repeating the same thing over and over and over and over…"

Since they finally knew what needed to be done, there was a change of plan. Ash will join them in clearing the spirits, his damage was high so they should be able to clear everything before the timer runs out.

Soon, the next wave of spirits appeared.

"This timer is so tiny! How did you even spot it?" PandaHero remarked.

With Ash joining them, things sped up. They were close to clearing all the spirits and the timer hadn't turned red. Just when they thought they were done, three more spirits appeared out of nowhere and attacked them. They were taken by surprise. These spirits were fiercer than the ones they just fought. Time was running out! They cast their Ultimate skills but the spirits were still undefeated.

"Damn, CD! I can't do anything besides basic attacks!" PandaHero and MysticSlayer shouted the same thing together.

Out of the blue, flying swords appeared and destroyed the spirits just in time before the time disappeared. Those swords came from Ash Knight.

"That thing…I remember seeing it in the weapon shop." PandaHero recalled.

"Special weapon, it can only be used once every battle. I equipped it just in case."

"You know that thing was a one-use item when you bought it, right? For how much?"

"I can't remember. Maybe 599 Golden Leaves."

"Damn you. I put money into this game as well, just not as much as you. Seriously, are you some CEO running your own company? You seem to have a very deep pocket."

MysticSlayer started to laugh. He was the only one who knew Ash was no CEO.

"Who I am doesn't matter. Concentrate on the game. 20% blood left now! The boss will go berserk soon. Brace yourselves!"

Till now, there was no announcement by the system to say that Xue Ying had been defeated. They were very close to doing so, any mistakes now could be fatal.

15% blood, 10% blood…

"Guys, guys, my HP is dropping like mad. Someone else might need to tank if I die." Snowman was sweating. Even though MilkTeaLover tried his very best to heal him, the boss's attacks were just too quick and deadly.

5% blood…and Snowman died.

"I'm sorry!!!!"

The boss now concentrated his attacks on the person with the highest DPS - Ash Knight. In most cases, the Swordsman character that PandaHero and he was using couldn't bear much damage. They could be dead after a few blows.

"Ash, I will save you!!" PandaHero tried to take an attack from him and he too joined Snowman in lying on the cold, hard ground. He made the sacrifice because he knew if anyone had a chance to defeat the boss, it was Ash. As long as he was still in battle, they still had hope.

MysticSlayer was next to join in the sacrificing game. He cast every skill he could before joining PandaHero and Snowman.

Still, the boss had 3% blood left. MilkTeaLover and Ash Knight were the last ones standing.

"Ultimate ready in 5 seconds…"

The boss dealt a fatal blow and Ash Knight's HP decreased by half. Two more blows and he might be out. MilkTeaLover did everything he could to heal him but he only managed to bring his HP back to 70%.

Without a tank, Ash Knight had to bear all the damage, there was no way of dodging the attacks. Xue Ying launched another attack, decreasing Ask Knight's HP to 40%.

His teammates were anxious. Could this be the first time they flop? The top player in Dreams of Jianghu could face defeat for the very first time.

Xue Ying held his sword and was charging toward him. At that same moment, Ash Knight cast his Ultimate skill. Both of them were masters of the sword but who will emerge as the winner of this battle?
