I would tell you, but you'd never believe it. Thanks so much for the reviews for the last chapter. I hope that ya'll haven't given up on this story.

0000000000000000000

Christmas had passed without a hitch, in fact it was quite possibly the best Christmas Erin had ever had. Christmas morning was incredible, everyone gathered around the tree as they passed around presents. She and Jay had worked tirelessly on the dinner, cooking more than enough to feed everyone in the house. All their guests had left a few days after Christmas, hugs and goodbyes spread around the now joined families. However, Noah had brought with him the flu spreading around his daycare and they had all faced the dreaded bug, leaving them exhausted and nauseous as they headed back to work before the New Year.

Things had been even more chaotic since Erin had come back to work filling in for Platt who was on medical leave from shoulder surgery after a romantic night with Mooch gone wrong. Going back to work wasn't the easiest decision that Erin had made. She really didn't want to leave Everly, but she also wanted to do her part in easing the burden on Jay being the only income. Erin sighed as she eased herself out of the wooden chair and buzzed herself upstairs. "Jay?" she called,as she walked the steps.

"Right here," Jay sighed, looking up from his desk and the mile high paper work he needed to finish.

"How much longer do you think this will take? Commander Fisher wants the paperwork" Erin said folding her arms over her chest and looking at Ruzek and Atwater who were quietly finishing up their own paperwork from the sting earlier in the day.

"We're doing the best we can Erin," he snapped. "Antonio's out with the flu and nobody can take on extra hours. Unless you want me to do it."

Erin looked up at him angrily. "Don't yell at me Jay. I was just asking you a question."

"Look Er," he sighed. "I'm tired okay, just give me a break."

"Fine," she spun around and stomped to Hank's office, slamming the door behind her.

"Good one man," Adam looked at him. "I suggest you go fix it if you ever want sex again."

"Go to hell," Jay snapped, picking up his pen on the deck.

"Easy Halstead," Atwater said as Adam held his hands up in surrender. "He's just pointing out that you've been nasty lately. We can take it but Erin's working just as hard as you are and she doesn't deserve your mood swings."

Jay sighed and dropped the pen, looking through the window into the office where Erin was digging through the filing cabinet angrily.

"I'll be right back," he sighed again and stood, walking toward the office. He reached for the doorknob, rolling his eyes when he found it locked.

"Erin open the door."

"Leave me alone Jay," she yelled. "You've got work to do."

Jay looked back at Atwater and Ruzek who were grabbing their jackets and heading towards the steps.

"Where are you guys going?" Jay asked

"We're going to grab something to eat" Ruzek said "Besides, I need to take Burgess something to eat before her turns into Pregzilla"

Jay watched as Kevin and Ruzek walked down the stairs leaving him and Erin up in the Bullpen.

"Erin stop acting like a child and open this damn door now," he said, more insistently. Suddenly the door swung open and a very pissed off Erin stood, hands on hips on the other side.

"Do not talk to me like that in front them ever aagin," she angrily spat out each word. "I'm not some little secretary you can boss around." Jay sighed and pushed past her into the Voight's office, closing the blinds to prevent any crowd that had the chance of gathering outside from eavesdropping.

"Chill out Erin," he said, closing the door. Erin pushed past him and moved back to the filing cabinet, continuing her work. "Will you stop for a second and listen to me?"

"I'm busy," she snapped. "I can't stop every time you freak out." He moved behind her and grabbed her hand pulling her to the desk. "Let go of me Jay," she warned.

"Sit down," he ordered, pointing to Hank's chair.

Erin crossed her arms and stood in front of him defiantly. "I'm your wife Jay, not your slave."

"Fine," he sighed, running a hand through his hair again. Reaching out he took her hand and she looked away angrily.

"I'm sorry I yelled at you." Erin continued to stare at a spot on the wall. "I'm just frustrated and tired. Things are hectic right now. I promise it'll be better soon."

"If I yelled at you every time I was tired and frustrated we'd be divorced, Jay," she told him. "That's no excuse to treat me like your own private punching bag."

"I know, and I'm sorry," he took her other hand. "I am a world class jerk and I swear I will make it up to you."

"I don't want you to make it up to me," she looked at him finally, tears in her eyes. "I want you to talk to me, I want you to respect me and most of all I want you to realize that I am your wife and we are in this together." He nodded his head gently and looked down at his feet. "You don't think I know when you're frustrated. I am trying my damndest to make sure you don't get overwhelmed here and you don't even appreciate it Jay. Do you even know how much that hurts me." He looked up at her apologetically.

"I know you're working hard Erin, and I do appreciate it, I really do." He stood up looking into her eyes. "Nobody has ever worked half as hard as you do for me. I love you for that."

"I need you to tell me that sometimes," her voice wavered. "I feel like you don't even notice me sometimes. You come home some days and you just go to bed. Are you tired of me already?" She lowered her eyes as tears fell down her cheeks.

"God Erin," he pulled her roughly against him, holding her tight. "I will never be tired of you. Like I said, things are hectic around here and some days it just takes a lot out of me. I am so sorry that you have been suffering because of that." Erin nodded gently into his shirt.

"I'm sorry too. I'm sorry I'm so pushy and crabby. I just miss my husband." Erin mumbled.

"I'm sorry baby," he whispered, drawing her chin up to look at her. "I'm so sorry." He leaned down and kissed her gently. Erin moaned softly at the feel of his lips on hers and she pulled his head closer her tongue seeking entrance to his mouth. The kiss grew in intensity, Jay's hands tangled in Erin's thick mane of hair. She moaned again and ran her hand down his back, feeling his muscles move under his Henley shirt.

"I want you Jay," she whispered, her lips moving down the side of his neck. "Don't make me wait anymore."

Jay growled deep in his throat and pushed her back roughly onto the desk as she gasped in surprise. "Oh God," she sighed, throatily.

Jay tore open her button down shirt, buttons scattering around the room as he pulled it from her body and she made quick work of the buckle on his jeans. Their mouths met again, fast and furious as teeth clashed and tongues duelled with passion. Erin moaned as Jay lifted her from the surface of the desk and slid her tight black pants and underwear down her legs. She moaned as he cupped her firm breast and toyed with the stiff peak through the thin material of her undershirt. He shimmied out of his jeans, letting them rest around his ankles and slid his hand under her garment, lifting her breasts out of her bra. She moaned again and he pulled her undershirt down to rest in the soft crevice underneath her breasts. Leaving her mouth, he trailed rough kisses down her neck, his mouth finding its mark on her tight nipple. She moaned again as he bit down gently on the sensitive bud and pulled his hair hard. He growled again and slammed his mouth back to hers, pinching her nipples roughly.

"Fuck me Jay," she panted, biting his lip. "Fuck me now." His mouth continued to thrash against hers as he pulled her ass to the edge of the desk and slammed into her body. "Oh God yes," she panted, raking her nails hard down the cotton material of his t-shirt. "Harder. Fuck me harder." Jay moaned and continued to torture her with his rough fingers.

Erin began to moan, the sound broken up by the pounding of Jay's cock into her. She clenched her muscles around him and he moaned again, reaching a hand down to their joined bodies. Erin moaned loudly as his fingers rolled over her swollen center.

With a loud keening moan, she came hard. Jay groaned and pulled out of her, sliding her off the desk. She continued to pant as he spun her around and bent her over Hank's desk, slamming into her again. She gasped as he pounded into her, holding her hips for support. Her sensitive nipples dragged across the cold surface of the desk and she moaned at all the sensations flooding her body.

"Deeper Jay," she begged, her hips slamming into the edge of the desk. He grunted and thrust harder, feeling her muscles tighten again as she came. He growled noisily and slammed into her one last time before erupting inside her hot body. He collapsed onto her hunched body, his head resting gently on her damp shoulders. Erin's heavy pants snapped him out of his reverie.

"Oh Erin," he moaned, slipping out of her. "God, did I hurt you? I'm so sorry." Erin stood up and turned around, placing a hand on his sweat slicked cheek.

"You didn't hurt me, I promise," she whispered.

"Then what's the matter?" he asked softly.

"I love you so much Jay, that's all. I just love you." He smiled and pulled her into his arms.

"I love you too Erin, don't ever doubt that." She shook her head and snuggled closer into him. "I'm sorry that I yelled at you. I won't ever do it again." She looked up at him and gave him a tight lipped smile.

"I'm sorry I'm such a bitch sometimes. I just hate it when you're mad at me." Jay kissed her forehead gently and pulled her bra and undershirt up to cover her exposed breasts. Smiling she bent down and picked up her pants and underwear from the floor and held his arm for support as she stepped into them. When she was sufficiently dressed, he pulled his boxers and jeans back up and sat down in the chair behind him.

"I think your shirt is toast," he picked the garment up off the chair beside him, holding it up for her to see. She looked at him and smiled.

"It just needs some new buttons. I'll fix it later." He nodded as she sat on the desk in front of him.

"So about the paperwork."

"Give me an hour," he reached out for her hand. "It'll be done."

Erin nodded her head and reached for a file of ther perps beside her. "What are we doing about getting them where they're going?"

"Well Olinsky has taken them upstate himself"," Jay looked over the file Erin handed him. "He should be back soon"

Erin nodded and looked down at Jay who yawned and ran a hand over his tired face.

"Now I've got to get back to work. I'll leave the brains of the operation to her work." Erin smiled and stood from Hank's desk.

"Are you coming home with me tonight?" she asked, hopefully. "Or are you working late?" He heard the tone of her voice and turned around smiling.

"I think we'll call it a night around seven. Be home in time for dinner and Evie's bedtime." Erin nodded, smiling gently before grabbing the folder off the desk.

"Jay," she called, as he walked out the door.

"Yeah," he turned around, leaning back inside the room.

"I love you," she smiled, tilting her head to the side.

He grinned and raised his eyebrows before blowing her a kiss.

"Love you too."

She sighed and opened the blinds as she watched him take a seat at his desk as Ruzek and Atwater came back upstairs. She watched him work for a few minutes before turning back to her paperwork with a tired sigh.

0000000000000000000

Kim groaned while she looked in the mirror at her reflection. She was officially eight months pregnant and the most uncomfortable she'd ever been in her ENTIRE life.

"Darlin; we're going to be late for church. If we don't leave now, we're not going to get a good seat in the back" Adam said sticking his head in the bedroom door as he fixed his tie.

"Give me a minute. I said" Kim spat as she turned to the side and ran a hand over swollen stomach.

"I didn't say anything" Adam sighed. "I just said..."

"Shut up, Adam" Kim groaned "This is all your fault"

A small smile formed on Ruzek's lips as he looked at his fiancee. "I don't remember you complaining the night it happened. I remember a lot of "Yeah, daddy. I like that"

"You're disgusting" Kim said shaking her head and laughing in spite of herself.

Adam shook his head and walked over to Kim and wrapped his arms around her stomach and put his chin on her shoulder as he rubbed small circles over her abdomen.

"Darlin' you're beautiful. We're so damn good together and we're going to be the best parents. This kid doesn't even know what it's in for. I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you and I can't wait until you're finally Mrs. Ruzek" Adam placed a kiss behind Kim's ear and smiled when he heard her sigh.

"Are you sure you want to marry me?" Kim asked turning her head to look at Adam.

"I've never wanted anything more. Sure we did things backwards, but I can't think of a better plus one" Adam pressed his hand against Kim's stomach as the soft kick of Baby Ruzek kicked against his hand.

"What if I never get my body back? Are you still going to love me?" Kim asked.

"Burgess, you could be so big we could put you in the circus and I'd still love you. I'm crazy about you, Darlin'" Adam confessed running his hand up Kim's cheek and pushing her dark hair out of her face.

"We should go, we're going to be late. And we have to stop and pick Everly's princess castle" Kim said as she walked over to the bedroom door.

"That's what we picked as a birthday present? She's only going to want the box. No need in spending too much money" Ruzek reasoned.

"You only turn one, once" Kim said "I want it to be special for her"

Adam nodded "If that's what you want to spend money on, but I'm telling you, she's going to only play with the box"

"Let's go" Kim sighed as she slipped her coat on and walked to the front door of the apartment.

0000000000000000000

"You look so pretty, sweet girl" Erin cooed as she lifted Everly out of her car seat. "I can't believe that you're almost one whole year old"

Everly smiled and laid her head on Erin's shoulder. "Mama"

"What?" Erin asked as she grabbed Evie's diaper bag and pulled it over her shoulder.

"Wuv" Everly said with a sigh.

Erin smiled and placed a kiss on Everly's cheek "Mama loves you too. So much"

"Dada?" Everly called.

"Let's go find daddy. He's inside with grandpa" Erin explained as she walked up to the church.

Erin walked into the church and spotted Jay and Hank standing in the corner of the lobby talking and drinking coffee. Standing close by Hank's leg was Noah.

Noah stood in his dress clothes holding onto Hank's leg with one hand and in his other he held his Monster's Inc. Sully plush.

Erin smiled at the sight and walked over to where they were standing.

"Hey" Erin said taking Jay and Hank's attention from their conversation.

"Hey" Jay greeted smiling at his wife and daughter. "Did you guys have fun this morning?"

"Oh, it's always a good time waking this one up in the morning" Erin said running her hand up Everly's back. "How was this breakfast that I wasn't invited to?"

Jay and Hank eyed each other for a few seconds before looking back at Erin.

"It was fine" Jay said.

Erin eyed them both and adjusted Everly on her hip. "What's going on?"

"Nothing" Jay said "Just planning some stuff for Everly's birthday"

Erin nodded and looked over Hank's shoulder as Olivia came down the hall.

"Hey Erin" Olivia greeted as she knelt down and put Noah's nursery registration sticker on the back of his dress shirt.

"Hey. How was your flight?" Erin asked as she looked down at Olivia.

"It was good" Olivia said standing up "Had a delay over weather, but we didn't want to miss Everly's first birthday, did we, Noah?"

"Cake" Noah said looking up at Olivia.

Erin laughed and nodded "Yes, there will be cake. And you wouldn't have to worry about delays if you'd move to Chicago. I mean Noah has friends here" Erin explained and looked over at Hank "So do you..." Erin's voice trailed off.

Olivia laughed and shook her head "You know, if you think you're the first person to lay that guilt trip on me, you're not. And you know planes work both ways. You all should come out to New York every once in awhile"

"Just something to consider" Erin said as Everly squirmed in her arms.

"I'm going to take her to nursery" Erin announced. "Say bye bye Everly"

Evie raised her head off Erin's shoulder and waved as Erin carried her down the hall.

After registering Evie into class Erin walked over to the nursery door and walked in.

"Look at all the toys, Evie" Erin cooed as she sat down in a glider with Evie on her lap. "Don't you want to get down and play?"

Everly looked around the room at the toys and the kids playing and shook her head "No"

Erin sighed and looked at the clock on the wall. "Evie, can mommy go? Can you be a big girl?"

"No" Everly whined and curled into Erin's body and laid her head on Erin's chest.

Erin sighed and relaxed back into the comfort of the glider. Accepting the fact that she was going to spend another Sunday in the nursery.

The door to the nursery opened and Hank walked in with Noah.

"Evie, look who it is" Erin cooed.

"Papa" Everly said as she reached her hands out to Hank.

"There's my girl" Hank said with a smile and took Everly from Erin's lap.

"You can go on out there, Kid. I'll stay back here" Hank said.

"Thanks" Erin said with a smile and stood up. "If you need me I'll be out front just text me"

Hank nodded and looked at Evie and then down at Noah. "We'll be fine"

Erin nodded and quickly walked out of the nursery before Evie could realize she was gone.

Hank sat Everly down on the ground. "Evie. Go get the baby doll"

Everly stood on her feet and looked at Hank before she toddled over to the toy crib where the baby doll was and took it. Evie looked back at Hank who had sat down and Noah who was climbing up on his lap with a handful of trains he'd gotten from Olivia.

Everly sat her doll down and walked over to where Hank was "No No. My Papa"

Noah looked down at Everly who was pulling on his leg. "No Ev Ev"

Hank pulled Noah up more on his lap and reached down for Everly's hands. "Everly Katherine. You don't do that"

"My papa" Everly pouted and put her head on Hank's knee.

"Noah knows that I'm your papa" Hank assured. "But we have to share"

Everly sat down on the floor and covered her face before crying.

"Ev Ev cwyin" Noah said looking at her.

"Yeah" Hank said "She'd sad"

"I help" Noah said sliding off Hank's lap and onto the ground.

Noah walked over to Everly's diaper bag to get her sippy cup and Everly took the chance to grab him from behind and pull him down. She grabbed a handful of his dark hair and pulled it as Noah wriggled beneath her and whined.

"Everly" Hank said standing up and reaching down just as the nursery door opened.

"What's going on?" Jay asked as he walked over to where Everly was and picking her up off of Noah.

"I don't know. She's just going through a phase I guess" Hank tried to reason. As he knelt down and picked Noah up

"This is all Erin" Jay said looking back at his wife.

"Funny" Erin said folding her arms over her chest as she looked at Jay.

0000000000000000000

"Good morning my love," Erin cooed, looking up into the bars of Everly's crib. "Happy birthday." Everly sighed and stuck her hand between the bars, searching for contact with Erin.

Jay sighed from the doorway and walked into the nursery, smiling at Erin and Everly's joined hands. "Morning ladies, how are my two favourite girls this morning?"

"Everly's good, her mom's another story," Erin sighed, gazing up at her baby. "Everly is one year old Jay. It sucks."

Jay chuckled and gave Erin a sympathetic kiss on the cheek

"Happy birthday baby." He reached into the crib and pulled the baby into his arms. "Are you one today?" Everly grinned tiredly and touched his face.

"I smell food Jay," Erin sat up, tickling Everly's bare foot. "You must be cooking."

"Well, it may be our daughter's birthday. But it's also Valentine's Day," he grinned, making a face at Everly. "I'm hungry. Let's go eat"

"Okay," Erin snickered, kissing him quickly on the lips. "Let's go eat. Hi baby girl," she smiled, kissing the baby's head. "You hungry?"

"Hi," Everly whispered, holding out her arms for Erin. "Mama."

"Mama's right here Angel," Erin pulled the baby to her chest. "Let's go have your birthday breakfast." Everly yawned and dropped her head on Erin's shoulder, her thumb simultaneously finding her mouth.

Jay tugged gently on his daughter's hand as they made their way down the stairs. "Don't suck your thumb Baby."

Everly whimpered as Erin moved to buckle her into her high chair. Erin shushed her, smiling as she sat on the sofa in front of her and took a bite of her pancakes. Everly hit the high chair tray impatiently, waiting for someone to feed her.

"Daddy's got it, relax," Jay chuckled, making an airplane with his fork. "Open your mouth baby, here it comes." Playing her father's game, Everly snapped out of her typical morning funk and giggled happily.

"Dadadadadadada," she squealed, reaching for his utensil. "Hi."

"Hi," Jay laughed. "Open your mouth, here comes more."

"More," Everly squealed back. Erin looked at Jay with wide eyes.

"Have you been working on her when I'm not around?" she asked, glancing back at the baby.

"I swear, she just picked that one up."

"More," Everly shrieked again, reaching again for the fork.

"Easy," Jay laughed, shovelling more food in her mouth. Growing tired of her games, he scraped the contents of his plate onto her high chair tray and watched in disgust as she crammed her mouth full of the food. Erin grinned and kissed his cheek.

"Mmmm," she held out her plate and let him pick at it.

00000000000000000000

Adam stepped around the kids running around the party and sighed as he walked into the kitchen where Erin and Jay were.

"Are you actually going to show your face now?" Jay asked from his seat at the table.

"It was an accident. I didn't mean to break the bubble blower. But you really shouldn't have that dog in the house. He's too big" Adam said.

"I think that's the first time you've ever made my kid cry" Jay teased as Adam sat down next to him.

"I'll replace it" Adam said. "I really do feel bad about it"

Jay laughed and bumped Adam's shoulder. "Don't worry about it man. She'll never even remember it"

"Yeah, I should mention that Adam is afraid of dogs" Kim came in and sat down at the table with a small serving plate of pretzels. "Big dogs, little dogs, stuffed dogs. He just doesn't like them"

"I just had a bad experience with dogs" Adam confessed.

"Do you really think that Kane is going to do anything to you?" Jay asked gesturing over to the full grown German Shepherd that was sleeping by the kitchen island.

"You didn't see the look in his eyes man" Ruzek said shaking his head "He was pissed"

Jay laughed and shook his head as he the sound of Evie on the baby monitor filled the kitchen. "Duty calls"

Jay walked up stairs and into the nursery. "Hello love. Did you have a nice nap?"

Everly rubbed her eyes and reached up for Jay. Jay smiled and reached in the crib and picked her up. He kissed her cheek and carried her downstairs. "All your friends are here. To celevrate your birthday"

Jay walked down the steps and into the living room where everyone from Firehouse 51 and District 21 were gathered. "Can you say hi to everyone, bug?"

Everly raised her head off of Jay's shoulder and looked at everyone who was in the living room. Jay kissed her cheek again and sat her down on the living room floor before walking out to join Erin in the kitchen.

Everly looked around the living room and when the Severide Twins started coming towards her, Everly let out a whine before she started crying.

Gabby handed Matty over to Matthew and walked over to Everly and picked her up off of the floor. "What's the matter, Evie?"

Everly reached for Erin when she saw her mother walk into the living room.

"What's the matter?" Erin asked as she took Evie into her arms. "Are you still sleepy?"

Evie put her head on Erin's shoulder and put her thumb in her mouth. Erin walked over and sat down on the glider with Everly. "Are you humoring your sad mommy on your birthday?"

Evie sighed with content as she rested her head on Erin's chest.

The sound of the front door opening and Noah's voice filled the house. "Ev Ev?" Noah called.

Everly raised her head off Erin's chest and smiled as Noah walked into the living room. She slid off Erin's lap and laughed as Noah walked over to her.

Noah took Everly's hand and led her over to the play kitchen in the corner and handed her a play spatula. Erin watched the two play for a few moments before walking back into the kitchen.

Kelly and Brittany sat their twins down on the ground and the two babies took off over to the play kitchen. Noah noticed the twins and held up his tiny hand and said "No. no. no...shhhhhhhh"

Olivia walked over to Noah and said "Noah, that's not nice. Everyone can play with Evie"

Hank laughed as he watched Olivia with Noah. "He gets that from you. Every time you're on the phone with me, you do that to him"

00000000000000000000

"My God, she's amazing," Jay said, astounded. "She must have said five new words today alone. Where the hell is she picking it up?"

Erin swatted his shoulder. "Watch it or her next word is going to be one we won't like." Jay grinned and turned to Joe Cruz

"So Erin says you made a birthday cake."

"That I did, Jay," Joe grinned back. "It's big and messy, just so I can watch you clean up after her again."

"You're a funny guy, Cruz," Jay laughed,

"You just wait until you two have another one, then see how much sympathy you get from me." Joe laughed and turned to a wide eyed Erin.

"Like hell I'm ever doing that again," she told him. "If he wants another one, he can do it himself."

Kim laughed and moved to her Erin's side. "Come on Er," she put an arm around her shoulder. "I'm doing it, it's not that bad."

"The good things outweigh the bad with kids," Jay told her expertly. "You can't tell me you'd give up the chance for another gorgeous kid just so you didn't have to be pregnant again."

"You ever been pregnant, Jay?" Erin grinned at him. "It isn't a picnic."

"Come on Erin, I know you want more kids. It can't be that horrible if you want to do it again." Jay popped a grape in his mouth and raised an eyebrow at her.

"You said it Jay, the good outweighs the bad."

Platt scoffed and looked at Jay. "You just wait Chuckles. Wait until your daughter is sixteen, leaving the house with leather pants, getting her bellybutton pierced, dating twenty year old bikers named Spike and tell me you want to do it all over again."

Jay stopped chewing "She won't be like that," he said, not at all sure. "Erin did that. So the course is over. Everly's going to learn that she doesn't have to go along with the crowd."

"Thanks Jay," Erin smiled, moving to his side. "She's only kidding. Of course Everly's not going to turn out like that." She kissed his cheek and looked at him"We're going to teach her to be strong and independent. With any luck she'll turn out like me." She grinned at him.

"I wonder who that could be?" Jay said walking over to the door and opening it.

Jay came face to face with a middle aged man with dark blonde hair and hazel eyes. Age lines adorned the mans face as he looked down at the ground before looking at Jay.

"Can I help you?" Jay asked.

"I'm looking for Erin Lindsay" The man said softly.

Jay nodded and looked at the man for a moment. "Can I ask who you are?"

The man nodded and looked down at the ground again before looking at Jay.

"I'm her father"

I'm splitting this chapter up into two different parts. So that way it won't be overly long to read. So, I hope you liked this first part. And I know that I had a reviewer say that this story is becoming hard to follow, so I apologize for that I will wrap it up soon if that's what everyone wants. But please enjoy part one. Part two will be up within the next few days.
