Thanks for the reviews on the last chapter. I very much appreciate them.

Reaching for his ringing phone, he stretched the cord as far as it would go as Everly moved toward the light socket with the pen she had in her hand. Feeling the cord give, he heard the base of his phone slide off the desk and tumble to the ground. Giving up, he just dropped the phone hoping that whomever was on the other end didn't need something important.

"Everly, no," he said sternly, grabbing the pen and swatting her on her padded bottom.

Watching her study him, he knew she was teetering between laughing and crying.

"Why are you testing daddy today?"

Giggling at him when she heard his voice, he couldn't help but smile as he reached down to pick up the previously disregarded receiver.

"Hello?," he said distractedly, not even sure if the other person was still on the line.

"What in the hell is going on?" Will asked, laughing softly.

"My one year old is in need of a straightjacket…can you help me out?" Jay asked

"No can do." Will said as he looked down at the ring in the small box in his hand.

"A rope so I can hogtie her?" Jay asked as he looked at Everly.

"The best I can do is perscription drugs." Will joked. "Don't you have some handcuffs laying around?"

"Damn. No…actually she was eyeing the plug-in and the pen in her hand looked as if it just might need to be stuck in there, so it was either drop the phone or risk letting her suffer electric shock."

"Sounds like you made a good call."

"Yeah, then when I swatted her she looked at me as if she couldn't decided whether to cry about it or laugh at me…today is just not my day as a father."

"I'm sure you're doing fine…and if you want to meet for lunch and, you can get her out of your deathtrap of an office."

"That honestly doesn't sound half bad, I'm not getting anything done here anyway," he said looking at the paperwork scattered all over his desk, "…when are you eating?"

"Right about now, you going to meet us?"

"Yeah, give me five minutes and I'll be on my way."

"See you then, little brother."

With one arm wrapped around her little waist and the other digging through the closet, he finally grabbed onto the folded up frame of her playpen. He didn't want to do it, but he had to finish his paperwork and she had already proven she was incapable of sitting still and not getting into trouble.

Unfolding it in front of his desk, he tossed the baby blanket he had with him on the bottom of it, and then sat her down in the center of it.

Tossing in only the soft toys he could trust her with at the moment, he watched as she immediately stood up and moved over to the edge.

"Stay in there, okay? Just give me fifteen minutes, sweetheart, and I promise I'll take you out of it…deal?"

Looking up at him with her innocent blue eyes, he laughed. "Nope, not going to work this time."

"Dad-dee NO!," she yelled, slapping her hand against the foamed covered railing.

"Shhh…curl up and take a little nap."

Sitting down, he shook the mouse, bringing up his notes on the suspect. Examining the notes, he jotted down information he needed.

Moving to print off the final version, he looked up when he heard her little feet moving over to him.

"Da-dee" Everly said again as Jay picked her up.

"Hey now, stay in there just a few minutes longer," he insisted, placing her back where she'd just escaped from.

Sitting back down, he dialed the phone, holding the sheet of paper in his hand. Hearing the connection go through about the same time he heard the thud, he slammed down the phone and moved around to see just what she'd done.

"Oh, Everly…" he said, hearing her cries get louder. "Are you okay?" He asked, moving to set the playpen upright that she'd managed to knock over while trying to climb back out.

Picking her up carefully, he wasn't sure if she was hurt or if it had just scared her. He didn't see any obvious broken bones, but he knew he was certainly no doctor.

Sitting down, he thumbed through his Rolodex, finding the number of the pediatrician.

Stopping before dialing, he buzzed Olivia instead.

"What can I do for you, Jay?"

"Everly tipped over her playpen…should I take her to a doctor just in case?"

"Well is she hurt or just upset?"

"I don't know."

"Well is she babying anything?"

"Not that I can tell."

"Then she's probably just startled. Give her a few minutes to calm down, if she's still crying then, go have it checked out."

"Thanks…and I know combined with her falling and then me calling you for help because I don't know what to do, I must sound like the worst parent ever," he said, taking a hand off of Everly to briefly run his hand over his face.

"Not at all. It seems that you forget that I know you."

"What's that supposed to mean?" He asked, letting out a small laugh.

"One, you always overreact about things like this…and two, you're a good parent even if you tipped the playpen over yourself."

Laughing for a bit, he stopped suddenly, "I didn't though."

"Like I don't know that…stop worrying and finish your paperwork, she'll be fine. I promise."

"I know…and thanks."

Laughing, she hung up the phone. Sometimes he was a little too paranoid for his own good.

Writing fluidly for his own records, Jay held Everly on his lap, bouncing her gently.

"Me helps" Everly said.

Reaching forward, she attempted to squirm off of his lap and up onto his desk. Getting his grasp tightened on her a second too late, her little hand touched one the picture frames there, toppling it backward and onto the floor. Hearing the glass shatter, he shook his head.

Getting up, he looked around, not sure what to do with her while he cleaned it up. Seeing the playpen, he reluctantly put her back in it, knowing this time he'd be right there beside her if she tried to tip it over again.

Starting to pick up the shards of glass, he caught her movement in his peripheral vision, and saw her moving to climb out. Quickly freeing a hand, he steadied the playpen successfully, yet his grasp on the broken glass slipped, slicing open the skin.

"Shit," he cursed, dropping the glass that was in his hand into the trashcan as the dull pain surged to his hand and rested there in a steady throb.

"Shit," the little voice mimicked, making him snap his head up.

"No, no, no! Don't you learn to do that right now."

Looking back down at his hand, he moved to stand up, picking her up with his left arm and trying to shift her into a secure position.

Pushing open the door and hearing the bell jingle, Jay scanned the place trying to pick the right doctors out in the crowd.

Spotting the back of Will's head, he walked over towards their table, "Is this supposed to be a Where's Waldo where all the surroundings are other Waldo's?" Jay asked, sliding into the large booth next to him.

"That's exactly what it's supposed to be, it keeps the likes of you confused."

"Probably doesn't take much," Rhodes mouthed off, grinning as he nodded at Jay.

"It's nice to see you as well," Jay said sarcastically as Everly crawled off his lap and onto Will's. "Watch her, she's a terror today," Jay warned.

"I'm sure it's nothing Uncle Will can't handle."

"Okay, but if you end up maimed, beaten, or murdered by her wicked ways…it's not my fault."

"Your old man is being a baby today, huh?" Will asked, glancing over at Jay as Everly moved towards his water glass.

"Baby" Everly said as she reached for the glass.

Reaching forward Jay grabbed it just before she tipped it over onto their laps. "I told you that you've got to be on your toes today Will, she's on a mission to give me gray hair in less than twenty-four hours."

"Men with gray hair can be sexy, look at Clooney," the voice behind him commented, causing him to turn his head.

"What are you doing here?" He asked as Erin bent down and brushed a kiss against his lips.

"I called you to have lunch and Platt told me you were here, you don't mind us coming, do you?" Erin asked as she adjusted her hold on the twins car seats.

"No, not at all," he said softly. "Here, let me get out and pull up a chair so you and Natalie can slide in here."

"I won't bite, Jay," Rhodes teased.

"Well I suppose, I can sit with you," he smirked, moving over to the other side of the table.

"I'll sit with you too," Erin said, letting Natalie sit down next to Will and Everly.

"Hey buddy!" Will quickly kissed Natalie and smiled as he looked at Owen.

"Da-da" Owen greeted as he looked at Will.

Erin watched her brother in law and smiled before looking at Jay.

"So what's this about gray hair…surely my little girl is being nothing less than an angel."

"Pfftt, not a chance. She's all Lindsay today."

"Right," Erin said, sliding her arm through his, "because we all know Halstead's are always on their best behavior and never do anything wrong."

"I sense sarcasm, and I just might have to protect our good family name." Jay said with a raise of his brow.

"Good family name my ass," Will mumbled, causing the rest of them to laugh.

"You can't complain about having a tainted name, because I own that card, and I will not trade it," Erin teased.

Shaking his head, Jay watched as Everly grabbed Will's napkin at worked at tearing it to shreds with her chubby fingers. "Why is she acting like that today?"

"Just burning energy, all little kids do it," Erin offered simply.

"I want the nice little girl of yesteryear back."

"Just wait until she hits the terrible twos, you'll think gray hair," Rhodes said. "You've got what...3 more months?"

Erin nodded as she looked down at Arden and Caleb who were asleep in their car seats on the floor before looking back up at the table. "Yeah. Hard to believe"

"When she turns two Just For Men will be my savior." Jay joked.

"Jay, you're being ridiculous. That thing you call a beard will be the first to turn grey." Will explained

"Funny…and they make a gel for that too, so I guess I'll be covered." Jay explained as he took a drink of his water.

"Wait, I think I see one now," Erin said, reaching towards his chin.

Grabbing her hand, he stilled her fingers, sliding one into his mouth and biting down slightly. "Even if there is, which there isn't, don't pull it…three more will grow back in it's place."

"That's a myth, goon" Erin said with a smile.

"Any luck finding a dress for Christmas?" Will asked, pulling his eyes away from Jay and Erin's display and looking over at Natalie who was feeding Owen a handfull of Cheerios

"No, I'm just going to wear a burlap sack."

"Works for me."

Slapping his knee playfully, she rolled her eyes.

"What can I get you boys today?" The waitress asked, interrupting.

"The usual," Rhodes answered not even looking at the menu.

Nodding, she turned her attention to the other side of the booth, "Will?"

"Hamburger."

"Okay…now who are your friends and are they eating?"

Motioning across the table, he answered, "That's my brother and sister-in-law and this is their daughter…and this," he said looking at Natalie, "Is some stranger off the street."

"You're such an ass," Natalie said, shaking her head.

Laughing, Will finally answered, "This is my girlfriend and my son."

"Are you all eating?"

"I am," Jay insisted, "but they can do as they please."

"Alright, what do you want then, Will's brother?"

"What's good?"

"Everything's good and served up fast."

"I'll just have a hamburger too…and tea for both of us," Jay answered looking at Erin.

"Turkey sandwich," Erin replied softly, "hold the tomato and onion, please."

"And for you?" The waitress asked, looking at Natalie.

"Chicken club and iced tea."

Nodding, she looked at Everly. "Anything for her?"

"Can we get some green beans and a slice of bread and butter?" Jay asked.

"Sure, we'll have it right out for you all."

"Thanks," they all echoed.

"Stranger off the street," Natalie muttered, pinching Will's side with her fingernails, "I see how it is."

"Did you just pinch me?"

"I may have."

"I'm pretty sure that's assault and in front of two officers," he teased, resting his own hand on her thigh.

"You'll think assault," she threatened idly.

"Was that a threat? I think it was…so now you're threatening, you just keep it up and see what happens."

Hearing the doctors in the booth behind them laugh, Natalie blushed. "Okay…you're embarrassing me. Enough already."

"I couldn't possibly embarrass you as much as you've embarrassed me if I spent the rest of my life trying."

"Well…when you put it that way," she teased, leaning up and kissing him softly.

"No no" Everly said.

Pushing her little hand against Will jaw, Jay and Erin both laughed. "She's a jealous little thing today too it seems," Erin observed.

"Hey kiddo, leave your Uncle alone," Jay teased, "…because that's all the lovin' he's getting for awhile."

"Jay!" Erin said, hitting his arm.

"What? Halstead cut off?" Rhodes asked, laughing.

"Why does Jay know about this?" Will asked, looking at Natalie.

"I may have mentioned it to Erin."

"And I may have passed on that info to Jay," Erin added with a smirk.

"Great, my lack of a sex life is now common knowledge…see what I mean about the embarrassing you always do?"

"Oh stop," Natalie teased, watching as Will shook his head. "Maybe if you'd marry me you'd get those husband benefits"

2 Months Later

Seeing Adam walk into the bedroom, frosting container in hand…she started laughing.

"No way, Adam."

"Come on, it'll be fun."

"I'm sure it would be, but no thanks."

Flopping onto the bed, he sat the container on the nightstand as he crawled up towards her. "You're passing on doing naked things with Adam Ruzek?"

"Yes, yes I think I am," Kim said, raising her eyebrows.

"Never, ever would that happen," he said, slipping his hand up her nightshirt and resting it against her bare thigh.

"Uh huh," she said, pushing his hand away, smirking.

"You playing hard to get, Darlin'?"

"Nope."

"Good then, get naked," he whispered, moving up and nuzzling her neck.

"I'm feeling too pregnant to do naked things with you, Adam. Sorry."

"Oh yeah?"

"Yep."

"You're not too pregnant for me to do naked things to you though, yeah?"

"Adam…"

"Just lay back."

"I am," she said giggling.

"Good, stay that way," he said, slipping his hand underneath her shirt and across the soft swell of her abdomen.

"Just lay down and be good," she said, rebuffing his attempts.

"Sorry, being good is just not in my vocabulary."

"Don't I know that already," she teased, grabbing onto both of his hands.

"Okay, okay…I give," he said softly, snuggling up behind her, pressing the straining hardness against her backside.

"Adam...," she giggled out, reaching around and stroking him idly.

"Me, never?" He answered softly, relishing the feel of her hand wrapped around him.

Kissing him softly, she whispered into his ear as she released him from her grasp, "You know it's almost Christmas."

"It'd be a Merry one if you'd let me get in your pants," he teased, running his hands over her stomach.

"What a lame line, I'm not even wearing pants…and I happen to know what happens to girls that let Adam Ruzek in their pants," she said covering his hands with her own.

"Well…since there's no possible way to get that way again at the moment, we should make use of the time we have," he announced, sliding his hand down from her stomach and between her legs.

Feeling his fingers brush against her, she bit back a moan, not about to let him win so easily.

"We're taking a break after this one…a long break, so we'd better start weaning you off the naked stuff now."

"Ha, break or no break we can still do naked things with the proper protection."

"Don't count on it, I think I've grown tired of doing naked things with you."

"Is that so?" He asked, smirking as he brushed his thumb over her again, causing her suck in a breath.

"Uh huh."

Sliding down the bed he nudged her legs apart, darting his tongue out and brushing against her stomach softly.

"Adam…"

Pulling back he looked up at her, not sure if she really did want him to leave her alone.

"You want me to stop?"

"No, not at all," she said softly, offering him a small smile.

Winking at her, he pressed his lips to the underside of her belly briefly before answering with a soft but promising,

"Good."

Lying back on the bed, he wrapped his arm around Kim's body as they flipped through the baby name book.

"Why's this page dog-eared?" She asked, taking the book from him to look and see what he had marked.

"Traditional names? I think not, You're just taking the easy way out" she said, not even looking to see what had caught his attention.

"Oh…okay," he said softly, flipping back to the section she had been thumbing through.

"What? You can't be serious."

"Of course not, you just look through there and see what you can find," he said, stifling back a yawn.

Continuing to look at the pages and pages of names, she glanced back over at Adam and noticed that he'd fallen asleep.

Spotting the dog-eared page once again, she flipped back to it just out of curiosity, wondering if she'd be able to figure out what he'd taken an interest in.

Seeing his lazy scrawl at the top of the page, she took in the name he'd jotted down. Abigail Faith

Looking over at him, she wasn't sure what had made him think it was the name their child needed. Shrugging slightly, she searched out the names on the page, looking for their meanings.

"My Father's Joy," she whispered to herself softly, seeing the meaning for Abigail. Checking out the second, a bright smiled crossed her lips when she read and re-read it's meaning. Trust.

Reaching over and touching Adam's face, she fell in love with him all over again. Resting her other hand over her stomach, she rubbed a soft circle knowing Adam was right.

What a joy this baby girl was going to be.

000000000000000000

"Piece of shit" Jay mumbled under his breath as he looked at the directions on the Barbie Dream House.

Erin walked down the steps from putting the twins and Everly down for the night. She smiled when she saw Jay trying to put together the Christmas gift that they had gotten for Everly.

Jay had been on such edge lately. She wasn't exactly sure what was going on with him. But it seemed like nothing she did could pull him out of his mood.

Erin walked the rest of the way to him and knelt down next to him.

"Need some help?" Erin asked.

"No...I've got it covered" Jay said not looking up to Erin.

Erin ran a hand through her hair and sighed. "Are you going to tell me what's bothering you?"

"If you don't know than I'm not going to tell you" Jay said as he looked over the instructions on the Barbie Dream House.

Erin felt herself getting defensive. Clearly, he was mad at her for something.

"Well, enlighten me" Erin spat. "It's obviously about sex. I mean you haven't gotten it since I had the twins and now that I'm good to go you're just pissed that I haven't wanted to jump you. Is that it? Am I close?"

Jay sat the plastic pieces in his hand down and looked at Erin. "Are you kidding me?"

Erin shrugged her shoulders "It's the only thing that could be bothering you"

Jay stood up and shook his head "No...I was just thinking about your doctors appointment today and how you really haven't given me an explanation as to why you never told me about your bleeding in the first palce"

Erin sighed heavily.

"Jay I don't know why I didn't tell you. I know that must sound lame, but I really don't know why. I wanted to tell you. The first thing I wanted to do the day I found out was run to you and have you hold me and make it all right. But I guess I was afraid you'd see me as weak. It was bad enough having a c section after I was pushing so long and so hard to deliver...I just didn't want to let you down"

"Erin, how can you say that? You could have come to me Erin. You can always come to me."

"Jay I was wrong not to tell you. But, we can't go back and change that now. I know how angry you must be with me right now. I don't blame you."

"Erin I'm not angry with you."

Erin snapped her head to look directly into Jay's eyes.

"You know what Jay? If we're not going to be honest with each other, this conversation is a waste of time."

"What do you mean?" He asked, his voice raised slightly as his temper began to rise.

"What do I mean? What I mean is don't tell me you're not angry when I know you are. I know you better than you think"

Jay stood up abruptly and began pacing the room.

"Okay Erin, what do you want me to say? Huh? Do you want me to say that I'm angry that you didn't' tell me you were bleeding like that? Do you want me to tell you that I'm livid that even when you knew there was a problem you still didn't tell me? Do you want me to tell you that I am pissed?"

Jay turned to look at Erin, his face red, yelling louder than he realized.

"Well, yes Erin I am all those things. Okay? I am so angry and hurt that I can't even see straight. But you know what overpowers that anger? Do you want to know what I feel that is so much stronger, huh? Relief, Er! The relief that you're okay."

Jay's voice cracked with pain as he continued.

"I honestly thought I was going to lose you Erin"

Erin's eyes filled as she watched Jay, her heart breaking for him with every word.

"I love you with every inch of my soul Erin and for those hours I waited in that hospital, waited endlessly for some word of how you were, all I could think about was how I would give my own life if it meant you would be all right."

Jay was breathing heavy and he tried to calm himself.

"Erin I am tired of being angry and scared and sorry. I feel so many things, I don't even know where to begin to explain them to you."

Jay slumped down in a chair.

Erin hiccupped softly. She was unsure of what to say.

"Erin, I had a right to know. Regardless of what the outcome, I had a right to know. I could have helped you"

Erin was about to respond when Jay's phone went off. He looked down at it and sighed.

"We caught a crime scene" Jay said as he walked to the door.

"Jay!" Erin called as she walked after him.

"Don't worry about it. I'm wrong to be mad" Jay said simply before he slammed the door behind him.

00000000000000000000000

Jay sat at the district and he looked at the window at the snow that fell across the city. He hated himself for his outburst with Erin. It wasn't right but he felt like he'd held how he felt about her medical issues in for too long. And being sexually frustrated added fuel to the fire.

"Heard anything on Mouse and Atwater?" Hank asked as he walked out of his office.

"Mouse just set up the wire tap. Atwater said they're heading back to the van now" Antonio said as he took a drink of his coffee.

The sound of a pair of heels on the steps caused everyone to look towards the stairs at Erin who walked up a long brown trenchcoat wrapped tightly around her. Protecting her from the winter weather.

"Everything ok?" Hank asked "Where are the kids?"

Erin looked from Jay to Hank and gave him a small smile. "They're with Justin and Olive at your house. Everything is fine. I just need to talk to Jay for a minute"

Hank nodded and looked at Jay. "Fifteen Minutes"

Jay looked at Hank and dropped his pen as he stood from his desk and followed Erin down the stairs and towards the basement of the district.

"Erin" Jay said as he followed her towards the cage as she pulled the chain door closed.

"I figure this is the only way I can get you to talk to me" Erin said looking down at her feet.

"I'm sorry, Jay. I honestly am. You just have to realize that for so long, I've handled things on my own and I know how hard an adjustment it's been going from one kid to three and I just wanted to be strong for you"

Jay nodded as he leaned against the brick wall and looked at his wife. "But you don't have to be so strong all of the time"

Erin nodded as she stepped towards Jay. "I know...I know that now. But it's just hard for me. But you have to know how much I love you"

Jay smiled as he reached out for Erin's hand. "I know"

An idea flashed into Erin's mind, sending a jolt straight to her core in anticipation.

"Well, since I have you here" Erin said as she raised an eyebrow at her husband. "And I am healthy again..."

"Erin..." Jay's voice trailed off.

"We are all alone. No crying babies" Her eyes flashed with a heat that sent a shiver down Jay's spine as he immediately interpreted her proposal.

"Erin, you are not serious?" He gasped as her suggestion.

Erin laughed seductively as she unbuttoned the top button of her trench coat. The barely there dress she wore was low-cut in the front enough to reveal the soft swell of her breasts, so that one button exposed enough to reveal the small clasp at the front of her bra.

Jay swallowed hard.

"Sure I am Jay. Don't tell me you don't want to fuck me." She purposely looked down at the prominent bulge in his pants. "Because I know you do. You've wanted to everyday for the past two weeks. Ever since I got my all clear"

"I...You always...a Joke...You always thought cage sex was a joke" Jay said nervously. He knew she was serious and that concerned him because he had never been able to deny her anything.

Erin continued to unfasten the buttons on her dress until it was open to her waist and then she grabbed him by the waist of his pants and pulled him toward the wall as she walked backwards.

"A woman has the prerogative to change her mind, doesn't she?" Erin ran her tongue over her lips, wetting them, her eyes narrowing to near slits.

"Erin, if I had known you would be this uninhibited, we'd have done this a long time ago." Jay teased and incapable to stopping her, he allowed Erin to walk them right up to the wall, so her back was pushed against it.

"I'm pretty sure the twins were concieved on Hank's desk and we're going to talk about inhabitions?."

Erin slid her hands up his chest and scratched his nipples gently with her blunt fingernails through the fabric of his shirt.

Jay closed his eyes a moment, trying to will his body to relax.

"Erin, this is a public building. Anyone could come by at any second. We'll get fired." He insisted looking around to make sure no one else was around.

Erin laughed out loud as she reached under her dress and slid her panties down her legs and stepped out of them. She held them up for a second before sliding them into the pocket of Jay's pants, taking the opportunity to run her fingers along his arousal.

Jay gritted his teeth and his eyes fell shut.

"Jay, how many people have you seen go by in the last fifteen minutes? Huh?"

"None." Jay stuttered and he opened his eyes just as Erin flicked the clasp of her bra open, her ample breasts falling out of the lace material, one hardened nipple getting caught in the lace.

"That's because this place is dead this time of night."

Jay reached a hand out and removed the lace covering from her nipple, caressing the tip at the same time and Erin sighed and closed her eyes.

At that moment a lone janitor walked past the hallway and Erin laughed again as Jay moved forward instinctively to cover her exposed breasts.

"Erin, please don't do this to me. We're in public for Christ's sake."

"Well, there's the hourly janitor, Jay. That means we have an hour before the next one. Now, if you would stop flapping your gums and put that mouth of yours to better use, we can certainly have this over and done with before the next go around."

Jay's eyes darkened with a desire that Erin was not sure she had ever seen from him. It sent another jolt right to her core.

"All right Mrs. Halstead," he growled as he pressed himself against her, pushing her into the wall. "You asked for it."

Jay crushed his mouth down on hers, sliding his tongue into her mouth insistently.

Erin's arms slid up around his neck and her fingers threaded in his hair as she tried desperately, it seemed, to inhale him.

Jay fumbled with the zipper of his pants frantically, finally getting it undone and pulling his cock out of his pants. He grabbed the hem of her dress, lifting it and her by her thighs, and slid into her heated depths with one hard thrust.

Erin cried out from the glorious pain that shot straight to her core and wrapped her legs around Jay's waist. Jay thrust hard and fast, going deeper with each thrust, slamming Erin's back against the cold stone wall.

He hoped he wasn't leaving scratches on her back because her Christmas dress was backless and that would be very difficult to explain to everyone. But not even that possibility was able to make him stop. He was too far-gone, lost in the feeling of her hot, wet walls gripping and releasing him with every thrust.

Erin clawed at Jay's back, her head falling forward and she bit his shoulder to keep from screaming. Neither one noticed that she drew blood as they both slid closer to the edge.

Erin's legs started to shake as her orgasm approached and she tightened her thighs around him as Jay thrust one last time into her depths, coming in a violent burst, emptying himself inside her, as he growled her name into her neck.

His release triggered Erin's and her muscles clamped down on him so tight that his legs almost collapsed beneath him. She bit his shoulder again as she groaned.

Jay slumped against her as they both fought to regain their breath. Erin started giggling against his shoulder and he in turn chuckled along with her. My God, what had they just done?

Jay nuzzled her ear softly and whispered, "I love you Er."

"I love you too Jay. Thank you. I couldn't have waited another second." Erin pulled his face to hers and kissed him softly on the lips.

Neither one moved for a moment.

They both quickly dressed and Jay took a seat on the concrete bench as he pulled Erin into his lap. He reached his hand up and brushed his hair out of her face. "I love you, Er. So much. And I'm sorry for how I acted"

Erin shook her head. "No, I'm sorry. I should have told you about the bleeding. But I wish you'd have brought it up before you let everything boil over"

Jay nodded as he pulled Erin closer on his lap. "There are few things worse than seeing you like that, Erin. And that makes twice I've seen you bleeding to death under my hands. It kills me. I don't live a second without you and I don't want our children to either"

Erin felt the guilt all over again. "I'm sorry, Jay"

Jay smiled and nodded as he looked at his wife "I know you are. I'm sorry too"

"It was pretty good post childbirth, post fight, make up sex though" Erin teased as she ran her fingers through Jay's hair.

"We're stepping up our game. Who knows, maybe after the next one we'll do it on Hank's bed" Jay joked.

Erin shook her head "There's not going to be another. The Halstead Baby era is over"

Jay looked up at Erin and smiled "We'll see. It's like I told you. The twins are kind of a two for one..."

Erin shook her head. "No...there are THREE of them, Jay. They came out of me. We have three"

Jay laughed and leaned up to kiss Erin as the garage door leading to the outside opened and Atwater and Mouse walked in.

Another figure followed behind them coming from the other side of the van and the sound of gun shots filled the room.
