One day after the funeral, the atmosphere of mourning was still very much felt at Taylor's residence. The two proud grandchildren of the house did not want to touch the food. Taylor and nannies had been seduced with all kinds of persuasion but all failed miserably. They until it ran out of ways and then they gave up and asked Levi for help.
Levi, who was crying in his bedroom while looking at Rista's photo, had to be disturbed by a knock on the door. After Nanny told him about Joel and Havilah not wanting to eat, Levi sighed. Like it or not he must leave the bedroom to meet his two children.
"Are you mad at Dad?" Levi asked while his two children were still refusing the nanny's mouthful of food.
Levi just got home. There were many things that he had to solve regarding Rista's death. Hearing reports that Joel and Havilah did not want to eat, he became even more worried about them. Maybe if he persuaded them, the two children would accept the food.
"Daddy lied to us. Mommy is not fine. Mommy is locked in the ground. You are a bad daddy. Daddy should have helped Mommy. Mommy has no friends there. Poor Mommy, Daddy. It's dark over there. What if there's a ghost in the ground? " That's the words of Joel who was still five years old. While his sister could only cry. Nothing had worked to cheer them up yet.
"Sweetheart, I am sorry for letting Mommy go. I have to do that because it's for Mommy's sake. Now mommy is not sick anymore. Being in Heaven will make your Mommy happy." Levi tried to explain. He did not know whether his efforts would succeed or fail.
"Will Mommy be in heaven long? What if Vilah and I miss Mommy? Is Mommy mad because we were too naughty?" The sobs of the two children made anyone who saw it could not hold back tears.
"Joel and Vilah are never naughty! Mommy Rista is so proud of you two." Kefirah's voice was heard. Levi did not know since when the woman noticed the interaction of Levi and his children. Kefirah came closer and stood beside their chair.
"But Mommy got angry and left us. Mommy went to Heaven, Auntie Ke. It must be because we are naughty." The two children immediately complained to their aunt who was still watching them.
Kefirah approached and squatted in front of her two cousins ``Mommy was never mad at you. My nephew and my niece are very smart and cute. It's impossible for Mommy to be angry because of you. I am your mommy's sister. I know her very well. Mommy went to heaven so that she could be healthy. If in this world, Mommy wouldn't be able to take care of Joel and Vilah. Mommy will continue in the hospital because of her illness. But in Heaven, Mommy will be healed. Not only Mommy will take care of you but Mommy can ask the angels to protect us all," Kefirah tried to explain.
That's all Kefirah could do to coax her cousins. She could not lie but she must explain according to children's language. Joel and Havilah stared intently at Kefirah's face. They were not satisfied with the explanation but Kefirah succeeded in calming their hearts.
"But we won't be able to see Mommy again. That's what Daddy told us. What if we miss her? Who else will read us bedtime stories?" A rain of questions came from Joel's mouth. His voice was very heart-wrenching for Levi, Kefirah, Taylor and even their nannies.
"We literally can not see Mommy but Mommy is always with us. Here." Kefirah placed her palms on the chests of her two cousins. "Mommy will always be with us. In our hearts."
"Is that true? Are you lying?" Joel asked, disbelieving.
"I am not lying. As long as we remember Mommy, she will always be with us. No one can replace her in our family."
Kefirah hugged her two cousins who were sitting on the chair. Almost half an hour they calmed Joel and Havilah. Finally the two children wanted to eat after various persuasion was given.
"If you finish your food, I will buy some ice cream for you. You like it?" Kefirah asked while ruffling the two children's heads.
"We like ice cream," Joel replied.
"Miss, there is a guest for you," the housekeeper said, who had just opened the door for someone.
"Guest?" Kefirah repeated. Before she had time to think about who was coming, a man immediately approached and hugged Kefirah's body. Kefirah's body was unmoved. Her breath seemed to have stopped from being so shocked.
"Sorry if I came late. I tried to be fast but the plane was delayed," Manuel said. The man hugged Kefirah's body tightly. "I came for you, baby." Manuel's voice awakened Kefirah from her empty thoughts. Getting a hug from the man she loved, Kefirah suddenly sobbed. Since yesterday, many things had made Kefirah unable to cry. She had to comfort her father without being able to vent her own sorrow.
"I am already here. I will accompany you through all of this." Manuel let go of the hug. He wiped all the tears that flooded on his lover's face. "It's fine if we postpone our wedding. I will wait until everything gets better," Manuel said. He did not know that his words had raised so many question marks in Levi's mind.
"Married? Who is this man? Is he the one who came with Kefirah to the hospital? Is he Kefirah's lover?" Many questions arose in Levi's mind. The man was determined to grant his wife's last wish. Even though he did not like it but Levi would marry Kefirah, his sister-in-law.
"We will talk about that later. Can you take me away right now?" Kefirah asked Manuel. Her request actually caused various assumptions in Levi's mind.
"Kefirah!" Levi called. He was afraid that Kefirah would return to Melbourne and ignored the promise she had made to Rista. Even though his wife had died, Levi still did not accept that someone was playing with her heart.
"Let's go," Kefirah said. She pulled Manuel's hand away from there.
