Missing 3:

Dario's pov.

We were in a meeting when i heard a familiar tune. Shit! I had forgotten to put my phone on silent mode. The lady boss was glaring at me. Recently she had been avoiding me, I don't know why.

It seemed angels were on my side because seconds later, she received a call.

I saw her texting someone then calling immediately after she received a text from the other party.

I decided to sneak out and answer the call. Lately, i didn't want to ignore any call from Blake because the last time i did, it didn't end well.

"I'm in a deep shit, D. I don't know where she went...she just disappeared...like she wasn't even with us in the first place."

He was blubbering something about someone going missing. He seemed to be panicking. I needed him to calm down and explain to me clearly what was going on.

"Hey, calm down brother. Take a deep breath."

I heard some breathing sounds from the other end. Maybe he was following my instructions which was good.

"Now tell me what happened," I told him.

"A lady came in with some two kids today for therapy sessions and my therapist asked me to look after the kids so that she could get some help. I was with them in the mall but the girl went missing."

Shit! That was not good. The last thing i wanted was Blake blaming himself for another incident. He was going through alot already.

"Don't worry, I'll be there. Send me the location."

I told him.

As i went back to the meeting room, to take my documents and probably to ask for a day's leave, i saw the lady boss rushing out. There was commotion in the meeting room.

"What's up?"

I asked Nora, the secretary.

"One of her kids went missing. Apparently she went missing from the mall."

With that i connected the dots...a child...a she...from the mall. The incident and that of Blake seemed to be related. The last thing i wanted was Blake meeting up with Mrs.William. I had to be there lest everything went out of control.

Luckily as i was leaving the parking lot, i saw the lady boss leaving. I took that opportunity to offer her a lift which she accepted without asking questions.

~~~
We are at the mall.
Everything looked so cool that nobody could have thought that a child just went missing from there. We spotted the group immediately and rushed to them. My brother's panicked state seemed to have gone overboard on seeing Mrs.Williams. I knew that was going to happen that was why i had come.
"Any report."
Laura had asked.
"Nothing."
The little lady beside Blake answered. I guessed she was Laura's best friend.
I watched as Laura closed her eyes. It was as if she was trying to control her feelings. She was mad but didn't want to yell at her friend. That made me admire her more.
"Security footage?"
I asked.
The three looked at me as if what i said was out of place. Hadn't they thought of that before?
"We didn't check."
I knew it from the looks the two were giving me. Just as we were almost leaving to ask for the footage, her security team arrived. That driver was glaring at me before he lost it completely after seeing Blake.
"What is he doing here?"
He asked no one in particular.
Seeing that nobody bothered answering his question, he grabbed Blake by his collar and before we knew it, he was down on the floor.
"What are you doing here? Are you here to laugh at us?Was killing Ray not enough?"
With that, i knew things weren't going to be good for B. I went to intervene but regretted it later. That punch was not light at all.
"Thomas!"
Laura called his name. That only was enough to tame the beast in him. I saw him gently staring at Laura.
"I didn't expect that from you."
Laura gave her a disappointed look. The driver, Thomas, shook his head in denial. His regretful expression was really satisfying. How could he punch me in the face in front of my queen.
"Shit! Blood."
I cursed when I saw my brother's arm bleeding. As i was still thinking of what to do with Blake, i felt soft hands on my face. The fingers were tracing my lips. I was so lost in her sweet scent that i didn't hear what she said.
"Hey! Anderson! Look at me!"
I was brought back to reality after sometimes only to see my queen's teary eyes. Was she concerned about me. Just the illusion itself was satisfying.
"Are you alright. You're bleeding."
Oh! So that's why she was touching my lips. I admit i was a little bit disappointed...but it was okay. At least she initiated the contact.
"It's nothing."
I reassured her but she was not satisfied. She took her handkerchief to wipe off my bloody lips. As i was still enjoying her services, i felt something was wrong. The atmosphere suddenly turned chilly. The hair on my skin stood erect and i could see goosebumps allover my body. Why was i suddenly feeling cold? Why was i feeling awkward... as if someone was glaring at me. And the silence was not helping at all.
"Mummy!"
That voice worked like magic. The voice broke the silence in the place. It was a little girl's voice that managed to bring warmth to the previous chilly atmosphere.
"Alex!"
That was Laura's voice.
She suddenly stopped what she doing. She seemed either guilty or afraid...i couldn't tell.
Wait! That man looked farmiliar. Alexander Morgan. The cold CEO of Morgan's Software solutions. The most powerful person after the Andersons. Ash's idol. Only a dumb person like Ash would have someone like Alexander Morgan as his idol. What was he doing there?
While i was still in my thoughts, i noticed some changes in Laura. Her eyebrows were lowered, eyes squeezed and her her upper lip was raised with a slightly opened mouth. Her hands were on her lower part of stomach, probably her abdomen.
She was in pain.
Without thinking, i placed my left hand over hers on her abdomen and my right hands were on her face. Luckily she didn't push me away. Maybe it was because she was in pain...anyway i didn't want to think negatively now that she had accepted my care.
" Hey, what's wrong. Look at me...shhhhhhhh! It's okay, I'm here."
That came out gently and with more affection than i intended. Shiet! I have never been that gentle with anyone. Not even my mum. But why Laura?
Her pain seemed worse than i thought. I was almost hugging her when our intimate moment was interrupted by a male voice.
"The car is ready."
Thomas.
Why was he always being a barrier between us? They are those people who Asher calls 'enemies of progress'.
Since he was trying to help out Laura, i didn't get mad at him. Maybe i should have been at myself for not thinking about the hospital straight away.
As the two were leaving, i realized i had made new enemies. Thomas whose eyes were sending daggers at me, Alexander Morgan whose glare was murderous and the Laura's son who gave me a warning glare.
Laura's life seemed complicated to me. I could understand the little boy...maybe he didn't want anyone replacing his dad. I couldn't, however, understand those two men. Understanding the connections between her and the men around her was the most difficult part. I couldn't blame her regardless. With that beauty, anybody could fall for her.
I also realized i had made new friends. The little woman who was all smiles and the little devil who was looking at me with sparkles in her eyes. It made me feel good...to have the support of Laura's friend and little devil was great.
There was one more person who was giving me the 'what the hell' look. Blake Anderson. His curiosity was on another level. Maybe his guilt for causing another problem to the Williams was a blessing in disguise or else he could have been harassing me with questions at that time.
But despite all those, i was happy about one thing. I got a reason to frustrate Ash. It felt great knowing that for once i would have something to use to get into his nerves.
