"You don't want to do this." He warned again as he sat down relaxed on the sofa. "Bruce, warn them."

"See, you don't want to bet on this game because you will only lose, My boss is the best, second to none." Bruce warned just as his boss told him to.

"I'm not backing down." Val was determined.

"Okay." The strange man who is Bruce's boss said as he sat upright while he got into position for the game.

They started the game. To me, random pawns was been moved but to them it meant something. 

In less than five minutes, the son of a monkey who was Bruce's boss relaxed once again with a smirk on his face.

Val's face was down cast with sweat dripping off her forehead; she had the look of someone who wished to be anywhere but in this same room.

From the dramatic display I have seen from both sides, the atmosphere, one of my worst fears came  into reality.

He won! He. Freaking. Won!!

MISLED

He must be many points above average for Val to have addressed him as handsome. 


Jackie suddenly is no longer in my sight. I listened carefully and also noticed she was no longer sobbing. 


"Please don't beat little Jay." I heard the deep rich honey voice of the stranger again. 


I felt an impulse to raise my head and look at the stranger but I forced my head to remain down. 


That should be enough punishment for me for opening and checking out people, not just people, the other gender. 


So, after all, what Dylan has done to me, I still feel attracted to men? How can I do that to myself?! I should be trying to make massive things happen for me and my daughter. 


"Sure, we won't." I could almost hear the smile in Val's voice. 


I snuck a peak at Val and rightly, she was smiling widely at the stranger, from ear to ear. Only then, do I realize that the stranger had Jackie in his arms. He passed Jackie to Val. In this short exchange, I confirmed the godliness of the stranger.
