The Enigma Rises
Just a few things to make a note of first. The first thing is that I might make mistakes in regards to power levels, they are honestly very confusing and unreliable most of the time, especially prior to Raditz. Secondly, the chat group members will not be mainstream, so expect unexpected characters.
Finally, just because a female joins the chat group doesn't mean they'll be in the MC's harem, this ain't gotta catch them all.

"Fuck my life..."
A young man could currently be seen leaning against a large building, seemingly staring up at the clouds while enjoying what looked to be a small ice cream cone. He appeared to be no older than seventeen, having a lean yet decently athletic build with fair skin.
The male had smooth black hair along with a pair of piercing crimson red eyes, which went well with the form of attire he was wearing. Consisting of a pair of long sleek black pants, black running shoes, and a simple white t-shirt with a vertical red stripe on the back and front.
This young man was Niall, and he was fucking confused and worried as hell.
The reason for this was quite simple, he had found himself in an entirely different world, a world that he was very familiar with. He honestly found it hard to believe at first, but the evidence was right in front of his damn face. Staring back at him as if it were mocking him.
In front of him in the distance was a massive spherical building, one that stood upon a large plot of grassy land amongst the city skyscrapers. This building was none other than Capsule Corporation, the very same company and building in Dragon fucking Ball.
While Niall certainly wasn't the biggest on the series nowadays, he did know his fair share of information regarding it. Don't get him wrong, he loved watching the series, he just didn't have any time for it anymore. He was preparing for his final exams so that he could get into the university he wanted, and then this shit happened.
'I swear, anybody else would want to be in my situation...' Niall sighed to himself as he looked down at his ice cream. 'But, with all the fucking planet busters I know that exist here, I want to get the fuck outta here. I can literally die any second and I wouldn't know...'
Dragon Ball was one hell of a good series, but like hell did he want to live in it.
Anyway, aside from his horrible situation, he had at least noticed that the money he had in his wallet at the time had somehow been converted to Zeni. It wasn't really any different from Yen which he had used in the past, so it was easy to understand the currency.
'Fuck me, do I just accept my fate?'

'Wait, what?' Niall blinked in confusion as the robotic-sounding voice suddenly sounded in his head. Looking around in confusion, Niall soon noticed a floating screen with properties similar to that of a glass pane in front of him. 'Hold on, what is this?'
Niall looked around to see if any of the passing by people could see what he was seeing, and to his confusion, not a single person glanced his way despite the screen being very obvious. Seeing this, Niall slowly made his way into one of the alleyways before narrowing his eyes down at the screen.

'Ultimate quest system?' Frowning in confusion, Niall ultimately decided to tap his finger on the first option he saw. He had seen similar situations like this, mostly in things like novels he had read in the past. Anyway, a new menu soon opened. '...That's fucking disappointing.'
The screen that popped up was a small list of information seemingly about Niall, a VERY small list of information. When he saw the word 'System', he was expecting a full-on list of stats and shit. What he got though was a bunch of disappointment instead.

'This definitely ain't no Gamer System, though I do have a level... and I'm definitely a human. Just look at that puny ass power level!' Niall smiled nervously as he stared at the mesely number six next to his Power Level status. 'Yep, if anything particular dangerous comes my way, I'm fucked.'
There was also a Ki Output section, but like hell did he know how to increase it.
'Well, let's see what else there is.'

'Wow, what a sight for sore eyes.' Niall thought to himself with no restrained sarcasm as he saw the menu open up. Sighing once again, Niall closed down that menu before continuing onto the next section. 'Oh, something is actually in here! Two in fact. Fuck, that sounds so wrong...'
Anyway, the next section was 'Abilities'. Niall was honestly expecting another blank screen of jack shit, but he was pleasantly surprised to find that there were two supposed abilities that he had. While he hadn't read them yet, at least he had some things.

"Oh, shit! I can actually control my Ki?" Niall was not expecting this, but he wasn't complaining, that's for sure! It says here that he can manipulate it, but hell did he actually know mentally how to do it. 'Judging by the fact that it's Dragon Ball... do I just have to scream my fucking lungs out? No, it can't be that simple.'
He completely ignored the other ability though, he was more interested in Ki Manipulation. Don't get him wrong, Omnilingualism was a very useful ability, and he honestly had no clue why he had it, but he was more inclined to figure out how the Ki Manipulation worked right now.
'Rank? I guess maybe a kind of proficiency?' Niall wondered uncertainly as he saw the fraction within the ability. He wasn't certain, but perhaps it was referring to his mastery over the ability or something. 'Should I try it out? Someone might think a dude's getting stabbed in the alley though if they hear me screaming... fuck it.'
Looking around, he noticed that the alleyway was relatively long, so he made his way deeper in before arriving at a small open square space within the area. He made his way towards the centre before standing tall and taking a deep breath, he then slowly closed his eyes.
He honestly wasn't sure what he was supposed to be doing to bring forth his power, but he did at least remember a certain lesson by Gohan where he taught Videl how to feel her Ki. Listening to that same advice, Niall eventually felt a certain warmth at the centre of his core.
Strangely enough, he felt almost as if he could bring it forth by touching it. He imagined it flowing out into his hand, forming into a ball. Soon enough, a strange sound could be heard as Niall opened his eyes to see where it was coming from.
"Woah..." Niall looked down at his open hand to see a small ball of Ki floating a few centimetres above his palm. It emitted a small glow before slowly fading away as his concentration slipped away. "So I can really control Ki... not gonna lie, this fucking awesome! Though, how do I power up?"
Closing his eyes once more, he returned to the state where he could feel the warmth within his core. Instead of imagining himself conjuring it forth as he did just then, he instead opted to imagine himself literally having that energy burst from inside him.
'I swear, if I blow myself up...'
Taking a deep breath, Niall's expression hardened as his eyes snapped open. Throwing both his arms outwards with clenched fists, Niall opened his mouth a gave off a loud constant shout. Instantly, a spiking transparent aura erupted around his entire person.
Niall was surprised that this worked, but he didn't stop his actions and continued doing so before he suddenly found himself forcefully stopped. He actually stumbled a bit in response, but quickly caught himself as he looked at the aura coming off of himself.
"Dude, this feels epic..."
Niall couldn't help but laugh a bit as he marvelled at the incredible power he could feel coming off of himself. It was probably every Dragon Ball fan's wish to be able to do something like this, and he may be the only one to be able to say that he had done so.
With curiosity, Niall opened up his Status Panel to see the changes.

"Holy damn, that's a lot more than I thought! Being able to control your Ki really is a major factor in this world." Niall was expecting a decent increase in his Power Level, but he didn't expect it to be three times the amount. "Doesn't that mean I'm nearly twice as strong as Goku was at the start of the series? Can I lift a small car now?"
He had many things he wanted to try out, but he couldn't just go into the streets and start doing stuff like picking up people's cars and shit. Especially not firing off things like Ki blasts if he managed to properly do so, that's just asking for trouble.
He was a bit frustrated though, he seemed to not be able to go beyond the 10% threshold. He did just get forcefully stopped by something, and he'd be willing to bet it had to do with that Rank thing. He probably needed to improve that before being able to increase his Ki Output any higher.
Speaking of Ki, he could feel himself getting progressively tired now as this aura remained active. He definitely needed to increase his Ki reserved or whatever, and if he wasn't wrong, meditation was a key practice to being able to do so. By doing that, it should also in tandem help increase his power level further when releasing Ki.
On top of normal physical training to increase his Power Level, he should be able to get significantly stronger. For now though, Niall quickly suppressed himself back down to zero so that he wouldn't exhaust himself completely out.
'I don't know what time in the series I'm in, but I should try to get some serious training done.' If by some circumstance he finds himself against really strong opponents, he wanted to be prepared as much as possible. 'Oh yeah, what's this chat group thing?'
Turning his attention back to the menu, Niall raised an eyebrow at the blinking icon next to the last option within the menu. He obviously knew what a chat group was, but it seemed a bit strange to see something like it within this system.
With a bit of hesitation, Niall tapped his finger onto it as a new notification popped up.
