Some Serious Training
I forgot to mention this before, despite the country that I'm living in, I'm not a native English speaker. So, do expect some grammatical errors every now and then, I'm still trying to fully learn the language. English is only my third language, so my apologies.
Finally, this might be a story killer, but the story will be based on Xenoverse 2. This is mainly to avoid lengthy time skips in regards to the Dragon Ball series, such as the time skip between the Cell and Buu sagas. Apologies if that dissatisfied you.

Due to his lack of serious funds, Niall decided to make his way to the surrounding mountainous area to see if he could catch something to eat. Since he had this power now, catching and killing some animals for a meal was a trivial task.
He didn't have infinite money, so he wanted to save it up as much as possible until he found another way of making money. He could try entering the World's Martial Arts tournament, but he wasn't sure whether or not one was even being held any time soon.
For now though, hunting in the wild was pretty easy with his ability to use Ki. As of right now, Niall could be seen sitting next to a small pile of bones of the dinosaur he had just eaten, a small dinosaur that is. It still boggled his mind that dinosaurs still roamed this freaking world.
If you looked closer, you could see that Niall was floating slightly above the ground as his eyes were closed. The reason for this current situation was that he wanted to try and increase his power as much as possible, and to do so, he wanted to increase his Ki pool, and meditation was a very good method.
He didn't know what he was supposed to do with meditation when he first started, but he eventually managed to get a grasp of what it was all about. After he had calmed his mind and began truly focusing on his energy, he could feel himself better controlling it. It started off slow, but as time went on, he could start to feel the definite change.

Upon hearing the notification, Niall slowly opened his eyes just in time to see the notification disappear. His body then slowly lowered itself back to the ground as he gave a small sigh. 'Man, meditation was boring. At least I got distracted after a bit...'
He honestly got a bit impatient with the meditation after the first few minutes of honestly nothing happening, but he had found his mind entering a state of peace after a while. The boredom he had felt at the start disappeared once he truly managed to focus on his energy core.
Since all the training he had done so far was from meditation to increase his Ki pool and control, there was no change in his power level since he had his output currently at zero. Taking a deep breath, Niall quickly charged his power up.

"A small increase in terms of numbers, but a significant increase nonetheless." It seemed that it was indeed true the more Ki one had in their pool, the stronger the person would be when releasing the same amount of power before having it increased. "Hold on, eleven? Did me ranking up my Ki control also allow me to go above ten percent?"
He had already assumed that increasing the rank of his Ki Control would allow this, but he wanted to make sure that was indeed the case. To do so, Niall quickly focused his energy again before standing up, then released a powerful shout as his aura erupted around him once more.
True to what his thoughts aligned with, he could see a glimpse of the Status Panel where his Ki Output was further increasing beyond the current stage. With a final powerful shout at the end, Niall once again felt himself being forcefully stopped.

"So, my new limit is twenty percent, not bad!." Niall smiled with a satisfied nod as he saw the given information. For normal humans of this world, the limit for human potential was probably like ten or so in power level. So, a level he was currently at was beyond anything a normal human could be capable of. "Judging from the numbers, ten percent adds fifteen to my power level, and at twenty percent another fifteen..."
Since Niall wanted to gain as much power as he could right now, trying to get his Ki Control to the maximum rank, or as high as possible right now, was probably the best option. He could then focus on physical training to improve his normal battle power without augmentation from Ki.
A person's base Power Level without augmentation is just as important as increasing one's own Ki pool, the reason being that the stronger one's body is, the higher their power level will be when augmented by something like a transformation, or simply just raising one's Ki output.
"Back to meditating, I guess..."

As Niall continued meditating and training overall all the way through into the night, he had only managed to increase his Ki Control by a single rank. Which meant he was now able to increase his Ki Output all the way up to 30%.
He had stopped meditating mid-way through to try and practice other useful skills in relation to Ki, such as the basic forming of energy blasts. It was honestly a lot easier than he thought it'd be, as long as he knew how to bring forth his energy and give it shape, it was quite easy to do.
The trickier things came in the form of using his Ki to perform things such as sensing other life forms, which took a bit of practice before he eventually got the general hang of it. What he struggled with the most though was flying, he was still a bit unstable in the air.
Even after a few hours of meditating and practising, he hadn't managed to increase it by another rank. He had honestly hoped to be able to increase it by at least three or so by the end of the night, but that proved to be a far more tedious task than he had given it credit for.
Anyway, once it was around midnight, Niall decided to give it quits for the day and went to sleep. He honestly couldn't be bothered to go back to the city and find a hotel, so he just opted to lay himself down on the grassy cliff he had temporarily taken over. He didn't mind sleeping outside, in fact, he kind of preferred it.

"A-Ah, fuck...!" Niall snapped his eyes open when he found himself having rolled off of the cliff and towards the ground below. Out of instinct, he quickly began flying as to slow down his descent. "Fuck, that was close... okay, never sleeping on the edge of a cliff again."
Since he had yet to master flying, Niall floated down to the ground with a bit of strange struggling in the air before landing on his feet. During that descent, he wouldn't be surprised if he looked a bit like a piece of paper in the wind considering how clumsily he was flying.
"Well, I'm on the ground. Might as well see if I can get something to eat." Niall looked around at the general area to see if any animals were around, he wasn't expecting normal animals though, he was expecting to see some dinosaurs. This place seemed to be their stomping ground. "Oh yeah, I got experience from killing that small dinosaur before. Some grinding will do me good."

"Huh... how convenient." Niall blinked at ht unexpected yet welcomed notification. "Only ten thousand? That's not a whole lot, but it's better than nothing. At least I'll get a capsule house if I complete this quest, a portal house is certainly useful."
As he was looking at the quest information, his attention was soon grabbed by a loud growling as he turned his head around to see what the source was. When he did, a shadow also was cast over him at the same time as he looked up to see a large dark-green dinosaur staring down at him.
"Oh..." Niall commented nonchalantly as he stared at the saliva that was dripping down from the teeth that the dinosaur. If he were to compare this dinosaur to one that he knew of, it would resemble that of a spinosaurus. "How strong are you?"

"Oh, you're actually a spinosaurus. A decent power level as well, just high enough for it to be counted for the quest." The dinosaur obviously had no idea what he was talking about, but it gave him a powerful roar that Niall simply dismissed as he had his hands in his pockets. "Well, let's get this over with."
Jumping back a good distance, Niall quickly threw his arms outwards as his aura erupted around him. The pressure exerting off of him caused the loose rocks around him to shake as his power quickly shot up to its absolute max.

"Fifty-seven, not too bad. I wonder if I'm as strong as Gohan was when he was still surviving in the wilderness as a kid..." Niall was curious about this, but those thoughts could wait for later as he had this thing to deal with. "Alright then, you shouldn't be a problem. Let's go!"
When the dinosaur swung its tail at him, Niall jumped back before firing a small barrage of blue ki blasts directly into the eyes of the dinosaur. This caused the reptile to stumble back as its eyes were forced shut due to the intense agony it felt.
This wasn't a very big dinosaur compared to a few he had seen up and about, and was very much not the strongest one he had come across in this valley. He had seen one with a power level of around eighty before, and he was pretty certain that was the big boss of this area.
Since this guy was pretty much small fry, Niall wanted to get this done quickly as he jumped up and onto the head of the dinosaur. He then reeled back his fist before thrusting it straight down onto the top of the dinosaur's head, causing the dinosaur's head to crash to the ground.
Niall calmly looked down at the down dinosaur before aiming both hands down towards it. More specifically, towards the exact same spot that he had punched. Niall's hands soon gave off a dense blue glow, and when this happened, Niall glanced towards his Status Panel.

Just like in the shows, his power level had shot up quite a bit while he charged this attack. It was a well-known thing that a person's power level would increase temporarily while they charged their attack, power level was detected based on the Ki that was being exerted after all.
If he was honest, the system should have called it battle power instead of power level. Power level was detected based on the Ki being exerted, battle power would have made more sense in his personal opinion.
"Checkmate."
With a loud shout, Niall's hands fired a large blast of energy shot out from his hands down onto the dinosaur's head. When said blast made contact, an explosion occurred that caused a large dust cloud to form as debris from the destroyed grown beneath scattered across the ground.

The dust cloud didn't take long to disappear as Niall landed back onto the ground before walking calmly over towards the dinosaur, and when he did, he saw it motionless on the ground with blank eyes and a head that was scorched and had blood running down whilst laying in a relatively large crater.
Looking at the corpse, Niall nodded to himself. "A quick meal wouldn't hurt."
