Chapter 5

Later am busy preparing for my first date, well sort of. This is the most important day of my life.

I get to spend some quality time with the girl that I really like. I quickly showered, dress up, looked the best I could, I put on a black Jean trouser, a white shirt and jumper.

I made my way downstairs and everyone was at the dinner table, my parents and my little brother.

"Where are you going? Dear." mom asked, but before I could answer another question followed this time from my dad.

"Ain't you gonna have diner with us?" Dad asked, wait for my response.

"No, I have to be somewhere, I'll eat when I get back, Later." I said as I made my way out.

I walked to the road and took a cab, it was a 10mins drive to reach her place, I got out the cab and walked to the door, God I was nervous.

I stood at the door for a couple of sec, until I finally gathered the courage to ring the doorbell, I press the doorbell and I took 2 steps back, it only take a sec and the door opened, and our eyes met it was stare down.

"Mary!" I said in surprised. She just stood there, as if waiting for me to say something.

I been avoiding her since that moment. She was surprised to see me. Standing on front of her door, was lost for word, she just stared at me with a frown, I broke the silence.

"Hey Mary, how're you?" I said stuttering.

"Am alright, what are you doing here?" she asked looking at me, arms crossed, am not shall how to answer that, but before I could answer, Alisa came to the door and she find me standing there.

"Andrew! I see you have already met my cousin, Mary."

"All we have met." she said, with sophistication. She took my hand and led me inside.

"I hope my coz didn't scare you?" she said, she walked me to living room, I look back only to see Mary slowly walking behind us with frown on her face.

I found myself in front of people and all of them looking at me, there was a l shape sofa in the middle and there was a middle aged man sitting there, along side him was a beautiful woman seemingly in her late thirties, who I assumed are the parents.

"Uncle and Auntie, I would like you to meet Andrew." Am not good when it comes to people. Am just to shy in front of strangers, or just people in general.

He stood up to take a good look at me before shaking my hand.

"Mr. Starr and this beautiful woman is my wife." he said, Putting his arm around her.

"I can speak for myself you know." she said jokingly.

"Mrs. Starr your welcome, and please feel at home." she said with smile.

"Am Andrew by the way." I said holding out my hand, which she took.

"Thank you Mr and Mrs Starr." I said returning the smile.

I stayed there for about an hrs and a half, getting to know her family.

I even last even lost truck of time, but hey, time fly when you having fun, I mean who doesn't like spending time with the one they like.

I helped her with her work. But you know nothing last's forever, it was time to go, but to be honest I just wished I could have stayed a little longer with Alisa, but Mary reminded me.

"Its time to go, don't you think?" Mary said, I turned and she was standing behind us, with a lour look.

"I think, I should get going, now." I said as I stand-up, said my goodbye to the everyone and I was on my way.

As I made my way out with Alisa walking me out, "I don't think your cousin like me." I said.

"You mean Mary?" she asked her gaze on me.

"Yeah!"

"No, that just how she is." she said smiling.

"Well, I think she hate me." I said, she glare at me with a soft smile on, I blushed.

"Your cute, you know that." she said, I quickly looked away shyly. She led me out the door we both walked out, she closed the door behind her, we walked about a 10m just talking and laughing.

"I think, I should be heading back now." she said, we stopped as she moved closer to me and I froze, she was inches from me and just kissed me on the cheek, and just a kiss on the cheek sent shivers down my spine.

"See you later, handsome." she said, as she walked away, I was left there melting, I couldn't believe that just happened to me, was I dreaming or what, did that just happen? Did she just call me handsome, nobody as ever to called me that before, a hand on my shoulder snap me back to reality.

I turned to Jason with a smile, like he has won a million dollars.

"Where did you come from?.... wait, are you following me?" I asked.

"Don't exaggerate. Anyways I was passing by when I saw you um...., standing here." he said.

"You'll never change, Will you? But I'm sure she'll change you." he said not looking at me.

"What!" not sure what he meant by that.

"Huh!" he responded trying to avert the subject.

"I was on my way to see Brian, to see how his holding up, do you wanna come with?"

"Yeah." we were on our walking to Brian's, which was just a few blocks away. I could in the corner of my eye, that he was looking at like he wanted to say something or ask me something but before I could say anything.

"So what-up with you and her?" he asked, somehow I knew that he was going to ask me that, I was feeling this girl.

"You mean Alisa?" I said, and he just nodded.

"There is nothing going on, Am just helping her catch up, that's it." I said, the look on in face he didn't buy that.

"I find that hard to believe." he said with dubiety in his eyes.

"What do you think is going?"

"I think you like her, but as always you're to do anything about it." he said looking at me, deep down I knew he was right, but I just refused to accept it.

We continue walking silence until we reach Brian's place. Later and am sleeping in my room dreaming about her, but like everything in life it didn't last, I woke up groggy, to the buzz on my phone, I waited for moment then pick it up.

"Hello." I answered still stuporous but I got to normal when I heard her voice.

"Hi." My heart skipped a beat just by the sound of her voice.

"Hey Alisa." I said with a smile on.

"Were you sleeping? I hope I didn't disturb your dreams."

"Not at all, I was having terrible dream anyways." I said and I heard her chuckle over the phone.

"You just saved me." I said in a sarcastic voice.

"You're fun!" she said letting out soft laugh.

"Its feels good to just hear your voice." I honestly didn't know how to respond to that remark, there was silence for a few second. I broke the silence.

"So.....um....how is your cousin?"

"Mary?"

"Yes, it doesn't look like she like me."

"Give it time, you see she'll start to like you."
