Chapter 174: The Crown (3)

Chapter 174: The Crown (3)

~Jack POV~

Standing in front of Theodore with a raised eyebrow at the guy with 2B and Koro by my side I clearly responded to Theodore directly, "So Theo… where is that ringleader of The Crown. Kind of want to make this a quick trip and if you are brainwashed can you tell me where to find the guy?"

Theodore and Xanthe didn't respond much before Theo finally spoke out with a defeated sigh in his mouth being direct, "Sigh… King Jax was right. You are really dangerous to figure us out. Even with a trap like this."

No duh.

I was literally just walking into the trap.

This wasn't something convoluted or premeditated.

This is plain stupidity at its finest.

And fortunately, I happen to read the RWBY books about The Crown purely out of curiosity about the world-building behind it all.

Knowing Jax's personality being led, by a fucking man child really doesn't leave much to be desired or a great leader other than his charisma and Semblance.

And even then, the only real threat would be the subordinates that follow him are the real threat.

For Jax?

A simple beatdown and careful not being in contact would lead to an easy win.

Sigh…

I really have no idea what the hell their idiot leader of The Crown did but clearly, they are mentally stupid to have a man-child as their leader.

2B was the first to reply about how the situation is going with a bemused expression of how lax they all are, "You seem to be very calm despite us knowing it's a trap. Do you all have perhaps a plan to stop us or are you all too foolish to actually put any effort into your plans?"

Rolling my eyes at this being clearly annoyed by them.

However, not wavering at the fact Xanthe began to laugh a bit uncharacteristic of her considering she's supposed to be much stricter like Glynda back in Vale.

Waiting for her to finish up she began to explain their plan to me of their goals intended for me to be captured, "Hahaha! You have no idea young Nights. Our Ruler wants you to be his sword a weapon against Remnant. He plans to have his Crownsmen capture you. After all, despite you beating that alien god he was alone while you had others at your beck and call. This situation, however …"

Yare yare daze.

I get it already.

But I was a hell of a lot weaker when I needed my friend's help at the time beating up Starro but that was before…

This is now.

Taking a look over the whole Shade Academy gazing at it all with I see a lot of the students here are brainwashed by Jax Asturias with his semblance converging underneath the room and going into the elevator…

The elevator?

Not stationed outside with snipers or good old fashion tactics?

Only pure numbers to get me?

Good grief.

They really are underestimating me!

I'm actually quite offended by this lack of effort?!

But listening to their plans as they explain to me that they intended to just capture me with a Kingdom worth of people of trained Huntsman and Huntress in training along with some veterans in the process makes this plan of theirs… or force me to comply by any means necessary.

Really simple.

I mean why not hold them hostage saying that if I don't comply, we will kill ourselves?

Really that sounds like something I can really do to surrender over only for me to use

Hell, I have Jinn with me just to try if I can use her time-stop skill by calling her out.

Heh.

It was thanks to her that I got these two skills from my two-party members making it worthwhile for me in the long run. Especially fusing with Koro Semblance along with and to truly bring out the best this skill had to offer.

Skill list.

----

(Active) Lv.13/100 Exp: 34.0%

AP Cost: Varies

Description: Users can create, shape, and manipulate darkness and shadows. By itself, darkness is mainly used to cloud everything into total darkness, but by channeling it to a variety of effects, both as an absence of light and a solid substance: one can also control and manipulate the beings that exist there, create and dispel shields and areas of total darkness, create constructs and weapons, teleport one's self through massive distances via shadows, etc.

Note: Darkness Manipulation is essentially the same as Shadow Manipulation, in the sense that all of its applications would be identical. Hence why both powers are merged into one.

(Passive) Lv. MAX

Description: The skill grants the user unparalleled intelligence, perception, and comprehension that far surpasses that of any being.

----

Really have to hand it to Jinn allowing my friends to stay with me answering any questions she wants with me.

While I can't ask her any, I can answer any questions she pleases with my wording hello Jinn you can ask any questions to me and I'll answer to the best of my ability.

Found a loophole to use anytime I can talk to her while at the same time gathering skills from my two-party members.

But returning to the situation at hand though…

*SWOOSH*

Quickly moving back away from the punch of Theodore and Xanthe trying to attack me I decided I would just cut to the chase.

"STAY!"

Using keeping my eyes on Theodore and Xanthe in place so long as my eye direction is at them freezing in place, I sighed out a breath while 2B responds, "Sigh… oh my this is quite the dilemma now isn't sir? A whole area of brainwashed students… Sir are you perhaps very unlucky to meet these kinds of foes?"

Sighing in return it's becoming a fucking trend at this point.

First the Nightmare Grimm, Starro, and fucking finally The Crown with their Amish leader Jax.

Seriously why does Remnant have so many fucking brainwashers anyway?!

Going towards Theodore, I began to use on him and Xanthe to get the exact base location of where The Crown is precisely. And currently, I found two of which are their bases.

And of course, they would hide in the sand.

God damn sand humpers hiding away.

Taking this chance to remove the two of their Xanthe and Theo are back to their individual levels while I let 2B knock them out cold in place them on the floor with Koromaru sniffing them.

Hehe.

Good dog.

Patting Koromaru on the head with him whimpering it seems like I'm going to need to fast-track on beating up The Crown to full annihilation to complete the mission.

Thinking things over for a bit and sensing a group of students coming over with I think we overstayed our welcome in Shade Academy.

Taking out the lamp with a bunch of brainwashed students soon coming out I did the cheapest move imaginable.

"Jinn."

*SWOOSH*

Play the real-life pause button.

With the lamp changing into Jinn with her following us Koromaru barked happily and 2B followed me to leave the campus with Jinn soon stretching, "Mhmm… I wonder what kind of questions you are up to Jack?"

Smiling I began the usual summoning up a to talk to her with the exact words getting Jinn's interest, "Hello Jinn I can ask you what questions you would like answered to the best of my abilities."

Jinn seeing the situation with all of us traveling away from Shade by walking smiles taking the moment to ask us questions, "Hmm… very well then. I'll like to ask you how much your world Earth is differing from here?"

Ah, the long question.

Thanks, Jinn.

While Jinn doesn't like to be abused using her

We both know it's pointless but at the very least she has an excuse and gets something from me so long as I help humanity ultimately enough while not bending the rules of her creators and something for her benefit.

Humanity can only ask Jinn 3 times for every 100 years but can be summoned up as long as I please.

But she won't just come up willy nilly so I decided to take her role while I ask her any questions she desires starting up a conversation that she knows all about or not but at the same time curious about her questioning me.

Just in her personality honestly.

Jinn just takes delight of knowing valuable information that others are unlikely to ask for which in this case the roles of the situation are reversed. She only knows all of the human knowledge not beyond others to a degree.

Like, say the Alien Azmuth of how he created Ascalon to which she asks as much as she can because apparently, that's knowledge humanity doesn't have except for me which was otherworldly knowledge outside being human.

With knowledge like that, I offered once she asked, I knew I can take the most I can using this method to get the most time of her ability used.

While she is supposed to be impartial to the user of her Relic, she was given a benevolent nature by the God of Light and ultimately wants Humanity to succeed hence playing along with me answering any questions she has for me.

Basically, she's playing bias with me only because of my situation of not exactly being a human in her eyes.

Makes me special to her but I digress.

At least this way I can get the most benefit I can out of this while time is frozen, I can actually complete my time with 2B, and Koro spending the time we spent together qualifies for my skill to take effect.

But still, we took our time getting to where the HQ of The Crown is and taking care of any insurgents or spies, they have.

Easy sweep kill.

However, I'm going to need proof of at least one member of The Crown for Theodore to spill the beans while I take care of their members for good.

No need for a bunch of crazy revenge seekers or cultists in the making to come back.

The only good enemy is a dead enemy.

Since I have all the time of the world frozen though I might as well try to work on some while I have the nice chance to do so.
