Chapter 12 Traitor

The ocean roared with rage, sending her children to the invading species that brought nothing but death their way. The stink of the dead corrupted the mind and souls of the living beings inside the ocean, hence she ordered her son to send his guardians.

The deep was worshipped by the many as it was cruel and merciful at the same time. Nobody could escape from the judgment of him and nobody dared to oppose him with their mortal bodies. Even Gods avoided facing this formless entity or being that ruled the bed of the ocean.

The only God that dared to interact with him was known as the God of ocean or water- Likeria.

The legends said she fell in love with him, but she never got the answer back as she kept waiting for him.

The deep has countless monsters under his control, far surpassing any army in the world. Even the southern heretic judges paled in comparison to his children's might.

He had 5 powerful creatures that oversaw other creatures. One of them is shaped like a squid or an octopus which crushes the enemies, one of them was a human before as he hunts down the oppressors, one of them is a giant shark that rides the waves, one of them is an angler fish which had light brighter than the moon and lastly an unknown creature that slept hundreds of years.

The legend said if it woke up, the world will submerge under the water as the gods will drown in the ocean.

That is how powerful it was under normal circumstances. No one saw its look except for the other 4 and no one know where it lived or rested.

Back to the present.

The hunter was looking at the young man with a serene face. His deep blue eyes never left his silhouette because he had to claim his debt today for invading their territory.

The dead land where once the races bloomed with the greatest technology and science. Magic and science were so advanced that even gods of the southern continent had to be wary of them. However, one day everything changed as the darkest cloud engulfed the land, tainting the once full of living with dead everywhere.

The greatest king lost his vision, blinded by the fury of his loss. The oppressing king lost his love to him, grieving with a vengeance that burned his soul and damned his people. Their clash ultimately brought the destruction that claimed countless lives.

The powerful warriors fell into dismay as some managed to escape, but those who had bad luck, became monsters that shouldn't exist in this world. They lost their noble wills to the darkness, and succumbed to the lies of the dead kings.

Greed and desire overtook their reasons, slowly eroding them into machines that hated living creatures.

Even so, some undead kept their reason, declaring their independence from the two kings' regimes. They cooperated with the life bringers and the church of the holy light to keep themselves locked in that land.

The time was unforgiving, the seal slowly crumbled away and the guardians who protected the seal lost their paths. The once great number of light bringers decreased to a few and the church was deteriorating at a tremendous pace.

No one could stop them, not even the independent ones. They were either captured or sealed into chambers where they would wait for the day of doom.

However, they made a mistake, invading the strongest forces on the planet except for the ascended ones.

The ocean is a sacred place that birthed the first living creatures on the planet. Therefore, bringing life to the mortals before Gods' arrival. The celestials and gods never created living creatures.

As mentioned before, the ocean was filled with life and sacred power. She gifted the food to others and blessed them with life, but when some dared to take advantage of her. She would send tides that would drown everything on its way. This time was the same.

" Ankh! So, you were alive after all and you became a living being that was cursed with eternal life. How pitiful! You should have joined the death."

The young man bared his fangs toward the hunter.
