The steam rolled in as the ship signaled the passengers that it was ready to move. Licht stood on the deck, watching the gentle ocean waves with a deep look in his eyes. He held his sword close to his body and looked at the bay.
" Your eyes will drop from its socket if you look like that. What is wrong, missing your home?"
Regina stood next to him, looking at his face with a serious face. As a leader, she trusted every member of her squad, especially Licht who led most of the time. She admitted his talents as both a warrior and a strategist because he had both brain and brawl.
Moreover, he knew boundaries, ethics, and morals that would draw a line in need. Therefore, she never doubted him even when he confiscated her money or criticized her decisions. His talent was greater than hers he was called a genius in the military academy.
" I don't know. I just feel we will have a tough time on another continent. Particularly, the land of gods is notorious for its special conditions. They say it is a land where both chaos and order coexist."
Licht said lightly, feeling a little worried despite their battle prowess. He remembered the myths that Richard had told him before about the gods. He recalled most of them were indifferent toward humans who didn't worship them and he also remembered there were evil gods and fallen gods who covered the world with terror and tyranny.
" It will be alright. We have been living for 3 years without any problem."
Regina assured him to calm down because she was confident about their power. The wind gently blew to her face as she directly gazed into his burning eyes. She could tell the fire was still there.
" I understand."
Licht closed his eyes, smelling the ocean salt. Although it was a little salty to taste, and smell wise he felt calm for unknown reasons. He felt his heartbeat drop down as his breath evened.
" It is interesting that ocean mana can affect you this much. I know you have a unique physique that can handle all energies in this world, but seeing this I feel stupid. If I was alive, I would definitely either invite you to be my disciple or offer money to you to study your constitution."
Viktor asked, looking jealous despite being a dead man. He watched Licht grow up to be a man who can stand shoulder to shoulder against the world's best and he felt proud since he was his legacy inheritor. Licht was so unique that he could go beyond human limits and utilize many elements.
Furthermore, he was able to activate holy energy from her mother's lineage, making him almost unbeatable. Coupled with his pact with a divine beast or God's descendant and his true ice made him powerful beyond any logical reason.
" Are you trying to calm me down, Vik? I appreciate your help. Also, try to hide your jealousy next time because Chono felt it and growled at you."
Licht said with a smile, looking at the wolf who was enjoying his day nap. His white fur shone under the sun as he exhaled icy crystal from his nostrils.
" Ah, that stupid wolf is annoying. He even threw me out the other day and I hate his guts. Do you know how many times he deliberately chewed this sword just to annoy me? You know he is smart like a human and he could understand, right? He is just acting like he can't talk despite being a divine wolf. That bastard, Chono!"
Viktor tore out his hair, vividly recalling Chono's smug face when he threw him out to have fun. Unlike Licht who was heroic and just, his partner Wolf was a sadistic bastard who liked to mess around with him in his recognition.
" Don't blame him, Vik. If you understand his heart, he is a very good boy and he can't talk for now. Besides, don't you think you are being too harsh on him?"
Licht said, gently touching the hilt of the sword. Viktor prostated at his word, shutting his mouth and pouting. He couldn't believe his student was taking sides on with that barbaric wolf.
