Chapter 30 Tyranical humans vs apex monsters

The roar of the scorpion echoed through the mirage as the air bent due to heat. The sun was still hanging around them, but unless they ended it now, it was bound to be night time and nighttime wasn't a good time.

The scorpions' height and body ranged between 5 to 10 meters and they had hard exoskeletons, unlike other animals. They were extremely agile and strong despite their enormous bodies and they exuded strong venom that could melt down living beings.

However, such monsters were being cut by 4 people and 3 beasts. Licht who was leading his squad, cut down their tails first and left the remaining part to others. Daemon who had the strongest body tanked damage while holding off tens of scorpions, but he could feel that they were near their limit.

No matter how hard they had trained they couldn't last fight any longer. The platinum hair of Licht fluttered around as he mercilessly slashed back and forth while dancing in the sand. The ice formed under his feet, assisting his movements as he used his mana in low amounts. Even so, he was getting exhausted because both his divine energy and mana were running out.

Perhaps, no humans would do something like him, but he didn't regret it. The silver sword was painted with the blood of a scorpion and he was tainted by their blood.

Fortunately, they weren't that smart, so he could fight relatively easily but their quantity was no joke. It was like an endless river since they smelled their kin's blood. This creature had no natural enemies, so they were large in numbers and they rarely bothered to go out, but due to Licht and his squad, they smelled their blood and rushed to aid their brethren.

" Fuck it. I can't take it anymore!"

Qattara was sick of being chased by them so she took a praying stance. Nobody gave her attention, so she could summon her weapon. A giant scythe appeared in her hand as she swung in a single motion.

Splutter*

The aura of destruction cleaved through their tough hides as they shrieked with pain and fear. They saw the image of a woman, standing behind Qattara while holding her hand.

Instinctively scorpions realized they were facing against a god, so most of them retreated out of fear while some which went berserk remained there.

The giant scorpions sprayed deadly venom at unguarded Qattara, but Licht stood before her with a sword in his hand. His amber eyes were burning with hope, valor, and courage. At this moment the was personification of a knight in an ancient tale.

His hair danced around in the wind as the ice scattered around him. He stood valiantly before the scorpions as he muttered.

" Oh, beasts of South, I will add this to my epic and you shall become a myth."

His hoarse voice seemed to relapse in the background as Chono and the hawk howled and squawked with a bone-chilling cry. Licht used every inch of a drop of power in his body, the blazing sun of the south and the icy wind of the north enveloped them and engulfed their bodies into the domain of gods.

The little scorpion seemed to realize it as he charged toward them. He raised his tail high, stomping on the ground with momentum that he hadn't shown before. The sand trembled under his command, burying the corpses and remains of scorpions into the deep sand.

He shrieked loudly, stomping his legs with great momentum that shook the earth. Coupled with ice and sun, the painting was complete with a final touch of heroism.

" These guys!"

Daemon scratched his head as he looked at the 3 figures with a sigh because they used all of their power to defeat the remaining scorpions. Lisha gestured for him to carry the scorpion while she put Licht on Chono as she carried the unconscious Qattara on her shoulder.

She didn't ask anything nor she wanted to know about her power because everyone has secrets. Hence, she acted like she didn't care about it all.

The hawk stood on Licht's abdomen as she seemed to be tired. It sat comfortably on his abdomen, resting to restore her power. The wolf scoffed at her but obediently carried them.
