Personality Split

Osborn Industries' super soldier serum still had significant flaws, preventing it from entering the human trial phase. Norman Osborn, feeling the pressure of losing military contracts, decided to conduct experiments despite being neither a professional researcher nor equipped for such trials.

As the head of Osborn Industries, he had to take responsibility for the company. Fearing the consequences of losing military support, he chose to take the risky path.

Despite a doctor's futile attempts to dissuade him, he proceeded with the experiment. Inside a sealed glass chamber, Norman inhaled a large amount of green gas—their company's super soldier formula.

Soon, he experienced intense discomfort, convulsing as if having a seizure. The assisting doctor halted the experiment, opening the glass chamber. While calling Norman's name, he performed CPR. The monitoring device showed Norman Osborn's heart rhythm, previously flatlined, reactivating. In the next moment, he abruptly opened his eyes, a fierce and predatory glare taking over.

"So, it was because of this that he became the Green Goblin?"

Upon witnessing this, Peter finally understood why his friend's father, a renowned entrepreneur and scientist, turned into a supervillain—the Green Goblin.

"The formula he developed not only significantly increased physical strength but also amplified the dark intentions and aggressiveness within the human heart," concluded Bruce Wayne.

Commissioner Gordon shook his head, "These human experiments are too dangerous. He's also a victim in a way, but he insisted on unstable human trials with the serum he developed."

In the video, the Green Goblin, or rather Norman Osborn after awakening, seemed to have forgotten his actions. His secretary informed him of the laboratory attack, the mysterious death of another drug researcher, and the theft of their glider and flight suit.

The secretary did not know that it was Norman Osborn in front of her who killed people and stole the equipment, or that Norman Osborn himself did not realize this at this time.

Unaware that he was the perpetrator, Norman Osborn quickly grasped the situation. He assumed the persona of the Green Goblin and began his activities, using a glider for swift flights and donning a specially made green flight suit. One dark night, he attacked a rival's factory and inadvertently killed a visiting military general.

The next day, during his son's and Peter Parker's graduation ceremony, Norman Osborn appeared as a kind elder. Recently, Peter, haunted by the tragedy of his uncle's death and burdened by the knowledge that he could have prevented it, had been in a low state.

Norman Osborn comforted him, advising him to overcome his struggles and offering support whenever needed.

Watching the video, Peter Parker sighed, "All of this happened too early."

He had just learned that Norman Osborn, simultaneously with gaining his spider powers, turned into the Green Goblin due to the human experiments. Through a Quiz game, he might have had a chance to change Norman Osborn's tragic fate.

Bruce Wayne raised an eyebrow, "Daytime him and nighttime Green Goblin seem like two different people. Either he's an excellent actor, or he's suffering from a split personality."

Arthur smirked, "I guess he has a mental illness. But whether kind or sinister, in the end, it's all him."

Bruce Wayne glanced at him but remained silent.

In the video, Norman Osborn, in a physical sense, dealt a heavy blow to his competitors to ensure the prosperity of Osborn Industries. However, unbeknownst to him, during a board meeting, the directors decided to sell Osborn Industries. The buyer? None other than their main competitor. Worse still, they knew Norman wouldn't agree to the deal, so they kept it from him and decided to fire him.

Osborne Industries, founded by Norman Osborne himself, now faced the ignominious fate of being sold off. He was deeply unwilling, but such is the ruthless nature of the capitalist world – devoid of gun smoke and blood doesn't mean corporate warfare is any less intense.

"You're out, Norman," challenged another director. Norman Osborn, after a moment of distraction, suddenly smiled, "Is that so?"

Arthur applauded, "What a show! Is this the world of the wealthy and respectable?"

Peter Parker frowned, "They went too far. Selling off the company is such a significant decision, but they hid it from the founder of the company. And doesn't their company have more development potential?"

Bruce Wayne, arms crossed, said, "Capital favors short-term massive returns. Also, from this video, Osborn Industries indeed lacks the competitive strength of its rival."

The board members, unaware that Norman Osborn is the Green Goblin, couldn't see the future potential of Osborn Industries. Selling at a high price seemed like a good choice.

At a grand carnival event, Norman Osborn appeared as the Green Goblin exposed the board members with a bomb, and ended their game.

Peter Parker was also present at that time and immediately changed to Spiderman suit to rescue his crush Mary Jane, who was in danger of falling from a high building.

Spider-Man and the Green Goblin fought, Peter ultimately took the opportunity to break the glider under his feet and jumped down in time when Mary Jane fell in the air, saving her with his webs.

Afterward, Norman Osborn returned home, experiencing a brief memory loss, seemingly forgetting his actions as the Green Goblin after the human experiment. But at that moment, he heard the Green Goblin's voice through the mirror, and Norman Osborn engaged in a dialogue with his alter ego – a conversation between his two personalities.

As Bruce Wayne mentioned, the super soldier serum indeed caused a split in the Norman's psyche. Yet, as Arthur stated, regardless of the personality, in the end, it's Norman Osborn. They reached a consensus that having acquired such extraordinary powers, the only person left in the world who could stop him was Spider-Man!
