Nature's Judgment

Nature's Judgment. That is the name of my mother's skill. That's what I decided to call it. I won't change it anymore. Jorge and Lu Bao Shi laughed a lot at the name, but I spent a week thinking about this name, and I feel that the next time, it might take me up to a year to think of a new name.

My mother liked the name, though. It's been a while since I've tried to use Nature's Judgment, but I stopped counting how long, as it just frustrated me even more. I am already a Rank 2 early stage magical beast, but my mother doesn't seem so happy about it. She was very nervous about this war, maybe this war was bigger and more destructive than I initially thought, but I don't really care.

I'm doing things in my own time, and although my Rank hasn't increased that much, I feel that my spiritual energy is getting stronger with each day of practice. It is as if with each practice, each day that I use my spiritual energy, it is like an athlete training his body every day, and at the end of the year seeing the results of his training.

I have also grown a lot in this time that has passed. I am now 14 feet (4.27 m) long. My horns have grown and seem sturdier, they point to the sky, as if they were pointing to my ambition, which is to be on top.

My scales have finally changed. Now I don't need to change my skin anymore. My scales now resemble the scales of the legendary ancient dragons of the Immortal World. I thought it would be good not to change my skin, but damn, how wrong I was! For one scale to fall off, another has to grow in its place. It is similar to changing teeth when you are a child. A scale appears in place of the old one, causing unbearable pain, after all, my scale is being torn out of my skin.

Moving up to Rank 2, I feel that it is easier to control my spiritual energy. It was difficult to limit how much spiritual energy would come out of my magic core. I felt that if I released all the power in me, instead of helping me win a fight, it would kill me inside. Talking to my mother about this, she said that our species, from birth, has a larger magical core inside. But because it is larger and contains more power, it is more unstable and difficult to control.

With evolution, our bodies create natural seals, to seal this power until our bodies are strong enough. The problem, however, is that the older we get, the larger our core becomes. In a desperate measure, our bodies create more seals, but this time, not without consequences. Our behavior becomes more voluble, our emotions are more intense, and so we are few in numbers. If we love, we will protect that against the world itself if necessary. But if we hate, we will do our best to extinguish the target of our hatred, even if everything and everyone is destroyed in the process.

Today is a day that I consider special. After so long practicing, stopping only when I have no spiritual energy left, and falling down exhausted and having to be carried into the cave. All my efforts, will be rewarded today!

Overhead, clutching my horn as always, was Jorge, making strange noises as he raised his little fist in the air. Maybe he has grown, but since I have grown so much more, he still looks small and cuddly to me. I need a pet...

Lu Bao Shi stood next to him, acting all cocky as usual. There must be something wrong with this butterfly. How is it that even without any expression or gesture, Lu Bao Shi can look so arrogant?

Leaving this aside, I arrive at the place where I always train, getting ready for another day of training. Unlike all the other days when only my mother, Jorge Lu Bao Shi and I stay here, today some of my mother's subordinates are here, like that stupid bluebird and the Dark Nightmare King Eagle.

Yes, I wanted to put on a show because I think I'll make it today. How did you guess?

Positioning myself in the usual place, I raise half my body above the ground, and begin to gather my spiritual energy in my mouth. Dense green spiritual energy can be seen in my open mouth, surprising the magical beasts who have never seen this scene before.

And then, when I feel that I have gathered enough spiritual energy, I let it all out by choosing a rock as a target.

Bang!

I thought a big explosion would happen, with rocks and trees flying around, that I would be the lord of destruction, and... none of that happened! The rock I aimed at had a small hole in it. When I got closer to get a closer look, I was even more disappointed! The hole was only 1.5 inches long! I didn't expect something with my mother's destructive power, or to be as stunning as Lu Bao Shi, but come on! Half of all my spiritual energy was used in this, months and more months of training, my body aches every time I use this power, and I spent more than a minute gathering spiritual energy to cause this insignificant damage? Ridiculous!

Stopping to pick up Jorge, I went out for a walk, since this failure was so outrageous. What I didn't notice, however, was that both my mother and her subordinates had serious looks on their faces.

Approaching the stone I used as a target, my mother used her spiritual energy as a probe, to find out if her doubt was real. And she was right. Inside the rock that was around 16 feet (4.88 m) high, 6 feet (1.83 m) inside it were reduced to nothing but dust!

The explosion that I had expected happened, but it happened inside the rock! I was very annoyed, however, so it didn't even cross my mind to investigate the inside of the rock...

In the dark forest of this world of eternal darkness, two young-looking vampires were walking around somewhat fearfully. They were the ones sent to closely observe Amanda, the white snake, and also the most explosive of all the snakes the vampires had ever had the displeasure of having to live with. They would use the excuse of giving information and how they wanted to learn Amanda's techniques and skills, so they could observe her closely to see if she was also preparing for war.

But this forest was very sinister! The trees could release fog that blurred their senses. There were several magical beasts in this forest. They had to make their way through killing these beasts or running away from them several times! He was a man who appeared to be in his 20s, with feminine facial features and a slender body. He wore green leather armor, matching the color of his hair. The woman next to him shared all his characteristics, including hair color, but wore violet light linen clothes.

Her clothes, which were presumably expensive, were now tattered and with many parts missing. Vampires were existences close to immortality, were resistant to pain, and incredibly difficult to kill.

"Why the hell is our first field mission in this hellish place?! Everyone else is doing scouting or collecting missions, but we have to come to this end of the world to keep an eye on a disgusting snake?!" The girl spoke, her words oozing hatred in every syllable.

"Shut up Hellen! Do you think this is worse than going into the main battlefield with those hateful beings?! Know that many vampires our age have been sent there!" Talking about the endless war, and the main battlefield, they both shuddered.

"I know, but... it's so unfair, brother! We trained for 450 years, and our first mission has to be to deal with these low-level beasts? I know our grades were not the best, but was it necessary to send us to such a place?" The girl asked, full of resentment.

At that moment, they both stopped their steps. They saw in front of them a black snake with red eyes. The black snake was 14 feet (4.27 m) long, with three horns on its head, the two on the end pointing upwards, and the one in the middle slightly curved towards its head. Looking more closely, they could see a wooden humanoid figure on its head. The strangest thing about the scene, however, was that the wooden creature was stroking the black snake's head, as if it was comforting it.

The black snake just stared at them, without making another move. Hellen, thinking it was just another stupid magical beast that didn't know anything, prepared to use her power to kill the dumb black serpent, but her brother stopped her, raising his arm slightly.

"Don't forget that we are in Amanda's territory. Don't do anything stupid." Her brother spoke in a whisper.

Then the black snake's red eyes glowed faintly, and he looked around for a second. When he turned his gaze to his brothers, however, his whole atmosphere changed. The air became heavy and difficult to breathe. The air around the snake turned red, as if the air itself was that color. They felt fear. This was strange. The black serpent was only Rank 2 early stage, and both were Rank 2 intermediate and advanced stage. Why would they feel fear?

What they didn't know, however, was that San Meili didn't need to rely on minor realms when fighting. And this time, it was even worse. He was angry and frustrated. And finding enemies who invaded his mother's territory, he found the perfect targets to give vent to his bubbling feelings.
