Chapter 20: Don’t Keep a Girl Waiting

Tara POV

Had I been nervous about moving in with Victor’s parents? Of course. But, I wanted to stay strong for Victor.

Surprisingly, his mother Emerald, had shown me more hospitality than before. We had been living with them for a week now. Every day she had taken time to sit down with me and talk about my duties as the pack’s future Luna.

Emerald was fine, but Briar Bane on the other hand was another story. He was very cold and uninviting. He often answered with grunts or glares and made communicating strenuous. Victor said that it wasn’t anything personal and he was just simply that kind of person.

In the week I had been here, I had only spoken four words to him: ‘Good morning and good night’. Last night, he finally muttered the word ‘morning’. I had to stop and collect myself after the interaction. That was progress and I was happy.
