Chapter 33: Secret Wedding

Tara POV

Victor and I stood toe to toe in the water. It came up to our waists. Still, we were surrounded by a sea of glittering stars. He held my hands in his, kissing the surface of the water like little lily pads.

I looked into Victor’s eyes. My heart thudding in my chest, stomach flip-flopping. It was just a fake wedding, but we were about to declare our love for each other, forever. It held a lot of meaning for me.

“I, Victor Bane, take you, Tara Landon, as my mate and my wife. From this day forth, for as long as we both shall live, you are mine. With the Moon Goddess as our witness, I make this vow to you,” Victor said in a deep, serious voice.

I bit my lower lip, my cheeks getting hot. I didn’t think he’d see me blushing, but my heart nearly burst from my chest at hearing those words.

“Your turn,” Victor teased.
