Chapter 55: We Have To Find Mason

Tara’s POV

The sounds of grunting were what alerted Victor and I that something was wrong.

We barely spared each other a quick look before we took position. Victor placed himself in front of Jasper, while I took the smaller boy by the shoulders and held him in front of me, securing both his and Victor’s backs as we walked closer to where the sounds of fighting could be heard coming from.

What we saw when we turned around a large bend and came to the open area of a small clearing, was not something we were expecting to see. Axel and Rose were in the middle of the clearing, but they weren’t alone.

In front of Axel, in his wolf form, were three other wolves staring down at him. It seemed they were only staring down at each other for a moment when we got there though, because in the next second the wolves were lunging at Axel. But he was a fast wolf, the fastest in the pack, and could easily evade their attacks.
