“What’s what?” Victor asked as soon as I walked into his study.


“Message from Third Moon,” I called out to him as I closed the door behind me. “Hendrix received it just this morning and wanted me to bring it to you. He said it was important.”


I walked towards Victor’s desk as he reached out towards me, expecting me to place the paper in his hands. But instead of doing that, I gripped the paper tight and swatted at his hand with it.


Victor looked up at me shocked, breaking the fixation he had had on the paper. I smiled down at him as I gripped his chin with my hands and lifted his face up to meet mine as I bent down. “Kiss your mate good morning first,” I mumbled down as I placed my lips onto his.


“Oh, I’m so sorry, my sweet mate,” he mumbled into the kiss, and I felt Victor’s hands snake around my waist as he pulled me into his lap. I let out a giggle as I fell sideways, sitting on him as he deepened the kiss and pulled me closer.
