Chapter 70: Blood Oath

Tara’s POV

“We were there, you know?”

Her question made me pause, and she continued at the brief look I gave her. “When you came back dripping in Luke’s blood… we were there. My mate and I were a part of the group that was going to be sent out to look for you.”

I shook my head at her confused, wondering why any of this was important for her to tell me.

“We thought you were… the weak and defenseless would-be-traitor… but instead you were the wolf that brought our alpha justice, that saved herself and decapitated one of the men who killed our former alpha.”

I was going to tell her the decapitation hadn’t been my intent, I just wanted to kill him and escape, but she went on.

“We were wrong, Luna,” she pressed as she took another foot forward. “Our parents are wrong. And I’m going to spend the rest of my life begging for forgiveness if that’s what it takes.”

My brows pulled together at her declaration. “What does that mean?”
