Chapter 84: The Shimmering Lake

Tara’s POV

“Are you sure this is a good idea?”

Victor shrugged, his fingers still interlaced with mine. “Probably not, no.”

“Victor!” I scolded.

“Shhh,” he whispered. “It’ll be alright, we just shouldn’t get caught.”

I sighed as I followed my mate out of the balcony window that led to the large terrace attached to his room. After our little homecoming session, I wanted to simply lay in bed and spend the rest of our two hours together, snuggling and talking.

But no. Victor had other things in mind—and clearly, not smart or well thought out ones.

I hate to say it, but maybe Jack shouldn’t have been so kind to my mate. The man clearly didn’t know when to chill out.

“And where exactly are we going?” I asked, glaring at him lightly as he squeezed my sides before pulling me into him and deeper into the dark shadows of the side of the building. “How many times have you done this exactly?” I asked again, narrowing my eyes at the expert way he seemed to navigate down the walls.
