Chapter 98: Mother Dearest

Tara’s POV

I thought about a lot of things on our way back to the house.

Victor hadn’t said a word about what happened. Iin fact, he had barely looked me in the eye since. I could tell he was tired and drained, and what he needed was a warm shower and to sleep for a week straight.

Right now, I didn’t want to push him anymore than he already had been pushed. I didn’t know where that would lead us.

All I knew was that he was back for now and I wasn’t going to do anything that would push him off the edge. Axel greeted us first, and I gave him instruction to take Victor through the back and to our room where he could shower and rest. Axel paused to look at me, to look at the bite on my arm and the bloodied cloth wrapped around it, but I shook my head at him.
