Chapter 96: Goodbye Mother

Tara’s POV

There were many human scholars who spoke about death.

Some say that our spirits would be tied down to this planet forever, forced to rejoin their loved ones in different eternities through animals, spirits or other people. Some others say that death is the final voyage, that there would be no returning back to this world. Another idea is that this world, wonderful and joyous and loved as you are in it, is nothing but a prison, a test for you given by the person—or thing—that had created you.

I didn’t know about any of that. I had been around death for too long to begin questioning its motives. All I knew was that it came when it pleased and robbed a home as it liked.

All I knew now of death was that it had come again.
