Chapter 186: Don’t Run From The Coyotes

Tara’s POV

I hadn’t run this much in a very, very long time.

At least not with the main motivator behind it being the threat of… well, my death. From behind me, Victor and I could hear the grunting, growling and snarling of the coyotes as they were quickly gaining on us.

Each and every resident of the village had seemingly turned into coyotes, and I didn’t know if it was just a village of were-coyotes or if there had been a mirage on the humans the entire time, and they were just coyotes to begin with.

Whatever it was, it was powerful magic, and I wondered if there was more at play here, or if this was the map’s doing.

Victor and I would barely have enough time to shif, so instead of taking that time, we fled. There was no way we could stop now, not with the coyotes on our tail, and there was nothing we could do besides run to give ourselves as much time from imminent death as possible.

“Victor, wait!” I called out to him, and made a sharp turn toward one of the open houses.
