“You can’t cheat at swimming, my love!” Victor’s rebuttal came back from the other side of the lake.


“Yeah, well you must be an exceptionally good cheater then!” 


I blinked, and my eyes widened for a moment before the realization and the irony of my words hit me. I turned around and stared at Victor from across the water, and we both stared blankly at the other before we both threw our heads back in laughter. 


The sun was bright on my skin, and I wondered if it was such a great idea to come out in the burning heat of the day. But when Victor and I had been laying on the ground in our room wrapped up in each other, and he had suggested a swim at the lake to wash away the weariness of the heat, how could I say no?


I turned to the sound of splashing, and watched as Victor speedily made his way to me. Once he was in front of me, a wide smile wrapped itself on my face and I giggled when his hands came to hold either side of my body.
