Chapter 195: Another Plan Hatched

Tara’s POV

My brother and Axel found me some days later after I had requested to meet them.

It was night, as often devious plans were made in, and there was no moon above our heads tonight. I wondered if it was hiding, if she was hiding—not because of the cloudiness of the night but because of the fear of her secret now known. There were things in the world that seemed to move more strangely now. The sway of the water, the clouds on the sky, the shyness of the moon.

There was a swell in my chest, too, and I could not find it in myself to find sympathy for the goddess tonight. Here, my only half human self was being forced to come up with a solution to the problem that a goddess has been plagued by. And for a moment, I couldn’t help but wonder what she had done to her son, this so-called direwolf prince, that had left him so angered and abandoned.
