Chapter 198: There’s Something Wrong With Alexander

Tara’s POV

Like all things, in everything, when I needed Victor he came. It was a day after the attack and we were stationed in a small alcove for the time being that Jack had sanctioned for us in the emergency or case of a fire. Part of me was glad for it, the other part of me wished that he would never have had to make use of this place to begin with.

Slowly, but surely, for the slow hours that passed, we mended our wounded, and made as accurate account as we could of all the people who had made it into the tunnels. There were some unaccounted for, and some would need more healing than what we could provide.

It wasn’t too late into the second day when I heard Victor through our link, calling out to me, telling me that the original entrance into Lycosidae had been blocked.

“There’s another way out from here,” Jack told me. “But it’s too small for all of us to go through at once, we’ll have to go in short bursts.”
