Chapter 199: The Direwolf Prince

Tara’s POV

It was like something unholy.

His face began to morph, to twist and turn into something—someone—I didn’t know. And yet, more than that, my heart seemed to constrict itself as the bond I had felt between Alexander and I, that blood bond, that familial bond, shifted.

It was replaced with something rotten, something unworthy, something false. It wasn’t until too late that I realized it was fabrciated, created from the same magic that had made me believe that the bond between Victor and I was broken. And it wasn’t until Sidus and his witch mother appeared from the shadows that I realized what was truly happening.

“You’re–” I whispered out, the realization dawning on me.

The man in front of me wasn’t Alexander, wasn’t my brother, wasn’t any part of me as much as I was him. Somehow, someway, he had managed to deceive me and my cousins, he had managed to deceive Jack and everyone he had met since we had rescued him from that well.
