Jealous?

It's weird. It's been a week since David hasn't called her. There is no news, messages, or his presence again. David was probably having a great time with the beautiful woman who was always around him. Yes, as Chloe said time.

Chloe took a deep breath. "I shouldn't have said that," Chloe whispered. Even though they were close friends, who would put up with the vile words she uttered over time? No matter how stupid, don't humans still have hearts? Everyone can get hurt, right?

"Do I need to call him about what happened that time? what I said was a little harsh, but," Chloe fell silent. She stared at her phone screen for a long time. Hesitating to contact David or not.

I don't know if David will forgive him or not. At least, Chloe should try first.

"Hello, David?" Chloe's low voice was muffled by embarrassment. She waited nervously when David didn't return her greeting.

"Hey, David is going to the toilet,"

Chloe's eyes widened. She could clearly hear a woman's voice on the other end of the line. Who is she? Why is David's cell phone on him?

"Where's David? Who are you?"

"Oh my gosh, are you deaf? I told you David was on the toilet. I'm Susan, and you?"

"Hah! No kidding. I asked where are you guys?!" Chloe snapped.

"We're at the hotel, of course—"

"Fuck!" Chloe threw her phone on the bed.

Calling David and apologizing was the dumbest decision she ever made. David was having fun with another woman, and she worried whether he was still mad at her or not.

After the declaration of his love on the beach at that time, how could David still play with other women?

"You're such an asshole, David!"

"What is it? Why are you smiling like that at me?" David frowned. He had just returned from the toilet and found Susan smiling at him.

"I don't know, your phone rang and I answered it. There was a girl who asked where you were, so I tried to prank her and she immediately hung up. She looks like she's mad," Susan said, handing David his cell phone and sitting on the long sofa with the rest of his friends.

David immediately checked the last call on his cellphone. "Chloe?" He asked, showing more to himself.

"Who is Chloe, David?" asked Susan. "She just got mad when I said we were at the hotel."

David paused, then said. "She's ... the younger sister of my friend," he said nonchalantly.

"Chloe! are you in there?"

Chloe heard Allan's voice from behind the door and opened it.

"Allan. What is it?" Chloe asked.

"Quil asked us to go out," David said.

"Where to?"

"Bar near Grand Ave. Celebrating Quil's new car. He wants to treat us to a drink. Anne and Stephanie had agreed and they were getting ready. You want to come with us?"

Chloe seemed to get a chance to take her mind off David. It's like revenge. If David can have fun with other women, then why can't she go have fun with her friends too?

"Chloe, can you hear me?" call Allan.

"Oh yes. I am coming along." Chloe blinked and looked at Allan with a smile. "I'll get ready first."

"Okay, I'll be waiting for you downstairs," said Allan.

"I want to go out for a bit," David said to his friends. He came out of the VIP room and went to the bar table and sat there.

"Henry, give me a drink," David said to Henry—his friend.

Henry pushed a glass of brandy toward David. "You look so gloomy. Is there any problem?"

"Nothing," David gulped down his brandy and shifted it back to Henry.

Henry poured the same drink. Still standing in front of David to keep him company. "It's about the same woman who's been keeping you down the last few days. I am right?" Henry found a surprise on David's face.

David took another sip of his brandy "I don't know Henry. I am very confused."

"She's driving you crazy."

"To be more precise, she's like a ticking time bomb that could explode any time we approached. Ever since I confessed my feelings to her, her attitude has changed. She became rough and stinging and cold." David fell silent. Glancing down at his brandy glass gloomily. "I shouldn't have confessed my feelings to her, if it ended up like this, Henry."

"Love is complicated, my friend," Henry commented.

"I just wanted to be around her all the time, but that only made her hate me even more. And in the end, I gave up because I wanted to protect her feelings."

"You're very attracted to her? How special is she to make you like this, heh?"

"Yes, Henry. She's the only woman who dares yell at me. When all the women try to flirt and want to sleep with me, only she refuses and doesn't like every time I touch Her." David took a deep breath.

Henry's hand touched his chin. "You're crazy about her. It takes extra energy to be able to win the heart of a girl who has a temperamental nature."

"Waiter!"

Henry turned his head in the direction where a man held his hand up.

"I'll be right back," he told David.

Quil's car drove down Cherry St for about 30 minutes from their apartment, then came to Grand Ave. Chloe and the others got out of the car while a butler in a neat black suit parked Quil's car.

The first impression is crowded. Boisterous by the sound of screaming and music that pounded so loudly. Chloe couldn't even hear Quil speak. When he wanted to pass the dancing crowd. Allan's hand gripped hers, carefully carrying Chloe through the crowd.

"We're going upstairs!" Quil shouted.

Chloe and the others followed closely behind. Climb the iron stairs and reach the second floor. The room there is quite comfortable and not noisy. They chose a seat by using a long semi-circular sofa facing the bar table.

When Chloe looked around, she saw a very familiar male figure. The man was sitting on a bar stool alone.

"Chloe, are you all right?" asked Allan, shaking Chloe's shoulder.

Chloe shook her head quickly. Averting her gaze from the figure of the man earlier. Why did he remember David? Very stupid.
